Awesome build 👍 I have also just recently bought a cheap DRZ after many years of riding a WR250R. Surprisingly my first impressions were the ergonomics. Just with bar risers + fatbars this thing feels super comfy even compared to the WR. Having that extra torque is real nice too.

I did a KLX400 {Green DRZ, those handguards looked great on mine LOL} last year also for about $3300, except mine already came with all the performance mods including same RS3.....WOW is it loud but sounds like a big block Chevelle. I just replaced tubes, sprockets, fluids, bearings. I rode it for a season and sold it for $4k like I originally intended, BUT DAMN these DRZ's are so fricken good. I almost kept it and made it my only bike. If it wasnt so top heavy and clumsy offroad I could deal with sprocket changes often to deal with the trans.

Plastic spray paint can at home depot for $10 can switch lime green to black surprisingly well….i do a light scuff sand and spray has held up well for many years on crf

That's a super nice build. You did good on this purchase and buildout. Only thing that stands out is the brake line should be routed on the inside of the fork leg so it doesn't get snagged. Bike looks super good.

Thanks! And yeah I know, the SM’s come like that from factory because of the wide front tire. I’ll get around to it eventually.

@@OgreMoto Well I leaned something new today. Makes sense for the SM model.

Hey dude! Looks like it's come a long way from the SM. I've got a friend who got a good deal on an SM and did a lot of the same things to set it back up for dirt. What areas of WI are you riding in? I just moved to central Wisconsin from Canada and looking for some riding buddies.

Did you replace the front and rear suspension springs. And how does the bike handle with factory springs I am about the same weight and height as you are. I am about to buy one my self as well.

@@multycam I’m actually riding ATV and single track trails out in the black hills right now and it’s honestly not bad with the clickers adjusted a bit.
      Suspension is stock
