We Try To Start This Mustang GT After Sitting for 25 Years! IS IT TOO LATE?
I have a '87 LX 5.0 5spd less than 90,000 original miles and it had been sitting since 1995 when I got it in December of 2021. I finally found time and finished working on it and got her on the road Labor Day weekend this year. I replaced the fuel tank, fuel filter, cap, rotor, oil change, brake hoses, couple brake lines, calipers hoses, wheel cylinders and tires. It's fun even though it's stock. 😁
Some decent looking parts though...for me that's the funniest part of buying a old car besides hearing it start for the first time in years I just bought a 78 mustang got it home popped the trunk was full of brand new parts about 10 new carb kits still sealed tune up parts and a almost complete interior trim pieces for a foxbody
My 85 was locked up when I got it in 2020 from sitting since 1994. I let some Marvel Mystery oil sit in the cylinders overnight and was able to wiggle it loose the next morning. Still going strong too.
I kept waiting for you to arc across the battery with wrenches and that dipstick.

People may see these rusted out foxes as junk but all those interior parts and plastic trim pieces are gold! Good score on that 94-95 cobra intake 👍
Yep. The floor is falling out of this but I bet it has a ton of good hardware in it still

That’s an aftermarket ac setup! U could get non ac foxes back then.
Good stuff! Yeah it is unfortunate, but that is the way older cars get. Uncle Tony's Garage did a stuck ring video. I think he found transmission fluid and paint thinner mix did the best.

I got one that sat since 2014 and it has no rot or rust on the frame and the towers are mint I'd love to sell it to someone that could save it

@@russellbroadwell I'm in Massachusetts and I'm not sure because , I've had ppl tell me prices what they think it's worth the body's rough but the frame is rot free being from 1991 just the hatch has rust
@@Mattys91gt too far for me. You would be have to give it to me for it to be worth the time and gas. I am sure there is someone close by that would love to buy it. As much as I hate to say it FB is probably the best place to sell it.
@@russellbroadwell lol ya I tried on there but it being close to winter no one wants to buy it I'm just having a issue putting the stock shifter back in after I took out a bm hammer shifter I can't get the car to find 1 it's a automatic aod

Not sure why you would call both of those parts cars. Tussin would consider both natural “light weight” drag cars with all their rust . You just gotta find the right homes for them ha ha

Look inside with a boroscope. They're cheap.
If it won't break loose, Pour the cylinders full of penetrant and let it sit. Of course the entire circumference can't be covered with the valves open, but..... 😲

Michigan consistently has some of the worst cars I've seen, when it comes to rust. I'm not the least bit surprised to see the condition of that car.
