I believe that Maens inspiration for this piece comes from the Vacheron Constantin Royal Chronometre 2215, and what a beautiful piece the Manhattan is. This 'no date' version is the one I would/will go for , I guess I'm going to have to swallow the import duty as I've been umming and ahing over this piece for a long time. @WRAK I have the No Date Salmon dial version that is more like a Bronze Copper in most light. Swiss movement watch of a rendition homage of The Vacheron Constantin mid 1970s Royal 2215 . It comes in four dial color date and no date options. Fantastic integrated bracelet and resemble a Gerald Genta watch of that era. For $600 odd - what a bargain. The finish and attention to detail of the same standard of high end pieces including Cartier. I have an 8.25 inch wrist and no way does it look small on my wrist. Maen (Moon in Dutch) are producing more and they will be available by March. They did send prototypes to reviewers in the last three months. I have been a collector for over 45 years and have owned a 5711 as well as a bi-metal and gold versions of PP's Nautilus . Aesthetically. and stainless steel quality craftsmanship - not much in it and less rugged than an AP Royal Oak. I am thinking of getting No Dates in the three other colors as they are that good! One negative - the No Date seems to have a ghost date position that clicks around 4:00 O'Clock. A Swiss surprise lies underneath the case back in the shape of a Ronda R-150 self-winding movement. This is one of the reasons there is a slender 9.3mm case thickness, and why this is such an elegant piece of wristwear. Running at 28,800vph with a 40-hour power reserve, with 25 jewels and Incabloc shock protection.
About to preorder mine and use as a daily. Looks beautiful for the price. My only concern was the 36 hour power reserve. Annoying to reset if you don't wear for a day but I suppose you can't have everything for 750€
Note that the watch is actually 600 Euro and the extra 150 is estimated Toll fees, depending on where you live the price of this watch varies. Either way, bought one a few hours ago and am eagerly awaiting the parcel :).

I like this piece, the brushing on the bezel, the dial patterns, lovely! Would I buy it? No… I think the aggressive taper on the bracelet is too much. Overall a tad small for me. Which is a shame since I’m in the market for a nice stainless steel sportswatch. But it would make an excellent dress watch, nice and slim, will easily slip underneath a shirt cuff. Nice reflections in the light… I’m not the biggest fan of C1 lume, but this variation with the X1 looks decent enough on this type of watch! Thanks for the review! Merry Christmas!

But your honest assessment on brands you've personal reviewed. What I'm struggling with is knowing when it's worthwhile to pay over San Martin prices. I've bought the snoo4g plus another original design based on your reviews. What brand would you list above San Martin in terms of quality and value, etc. Is Christopher Ward worth the extra money? Does Formex rank higher? Is Zelio really do much better? I now it depends on the particular model, but your general impression would be very valuable.

Very nice watch 👌, movement is fantastic, case finish looks great, and braclet looks very nice too, but does it have halflinks to get a perfekt fit? These kind of clasps can be difficult to get a perfect fit, maybe springloaded should be best way?

It wears smaller than a 5KX Akmal. Although the lug to lug feels similar, the 5KX looks and feels much taller and wider. Therefore its best suited to a 6-7" wrist size. Regards, #WR4K
Yes that's correct, unfortunately the watch in the review has been re-sized by the previous reviewer and we accidentally forgot to include these links. The standard bracelet comes very large and we have not had any issues so far from customers not being able to size it to the correct size.
I haven't seen this watch live but it certainly looks absolutely stunning in pictures. I've heard a lot of bad stuff about their customer service and on-time-deliveries and even some quality issues. I guess that's where the affordable price shows. But I'm still willing to take the risk and place a pre-order for their next batch. This was an excellent review but I have some serious trust issues with someone saying the finishing of bracelet, markers and indices are on par with 10k watches.... The finishing looks amazing to me but I would need some kind of macro shot proof for such claims.
Not exactly unique Vacheron Constantin 2215 but a beautiful watch. Date at 6 and rounded corners on the bezel would be my ideal tweaks for the next version
The vacheron is somehow kind of unknown and way too expensive at once so this is a good homage but also something worth buying that can somewhat stand on its own
This is gorgeous, I'm currently deciding between this and a PRX Powermatic 80, with regards to finish and quality, would you have any insight into the two. For reference, the PRX I have already purchased for £410 brand new but it has not been shipped yet, so can be cancelled, and this would cost £676 all import VAT paid inclusive. Which do you think offers the better value at the price point, I prefer this aesthetic but also know its a good deal for the PRX. thanks for any insight, loved the video.
This is a better watch, the prx is nice too. If they made this watch with a aquanaut rubber type band I would buy it immediately. I think the case is perfect but the band might look s bit cheesy over time. If you're looking for watches at this lower price range, your best bet is a grand Seiko, best quality for your buck
Get both. Very different. More color choices and date/no date options in the Maen. PRX is heftier and wonderfully built. I’ve purchased the powermatic 80, the prx Chronograph (both as gifts) and the Maen (for myself).
