Tip, dont sleep on bleed. It is what makes god tier levels of damage possible. Thousand blades is easily one of the best skills in the game able to deal heavy non elemental damage on its own while having the added benefit of applying bleed which will make the next damage the affected monster takes significantly higher. Only a few monsters are immune to bleed and Combine that with buffs to you and your monstie and debuffs like all elem def. Down to enemies + the salt in wound gene = que "Now that's a lot of damage." Meme
another tip. when riding.... you can't lose hearts. you'll just get knocked off your monstie. you might lose a bit of health. and your monstie stays at 1hp.
another tip would be to stock up on kelbi horns to make ancient potions to recover said hearts easily during hard fights. think there's only 4 spawns for kelbi though? and theyre all mahana island. could be wrong though.
Also Head to head won't kill you but left you 1 health instead. I found this when facing gammoth my rider won't dead even i keep head to head at 1 health. No need healing.
@@irondisciple2984 Yees Really Useful Mechanic , as long as you can perform double attack or head to head no need healing. That was an INCREDIBLY great tip video for after story and general tips! I've know a good chunk since I've been chipping away at end game for a bit, but still man kudos for a helpful vid!
Great video! I use N and R solo expeditions to farm SR, so I put up a gathering charm. Once I got 2 SR from a N ticket. For SR I put up the finding charm.
If you open the menu the monster can’t attack you after it wakes up. Then when you see the red dot on the map away from you you run. Rinse and repeat if you have to until you make it out with the egg.
Great video! Something I wanna add. If you want good genes, Bottlecaps and Elder dragon genes the R Volcanic dens are your best bet. I'm getting 1 or 2 Nergis per run. Of course I get unlucky sometimes but it's a great way to do a "all in one" farming.
in my experience when going in with randoms ive almost always encountered people with a nargacuga or a roar monstie. it's definitely not the most efficient way to farm, but if you are still starting out and dont have a lot of caps for SR tickets, playing with randos is very rarely as bad as worst case scenario
Yeah that was pretty much the point I was making by "solo"! Most cases I rather an NPC because they are invisible with you when you stealth and don't aggro monsters :)
1:39 sadly enough it happened to me when I got an amazing smelly Boltweaver Astalos egg and accidental clicked the A button and to get a Lagiacrious egg and not going to lie I laughed a little, but the same time I just screwed my self out of a solid monster. Don’t click and spam kids.
You can avoid being found when the monster spawns in the den by opening the menu when it starts charging at you, and it will hit the wall. It only really works with monsters the quickly rush you.
Autofill for crafting is perfectly fine, you end up with the same amount of points of manual with no point waste. Rarest materials are better used first, common ones are useful as filling points (with no waste)
I was just about to say this. For those who don't know, Stories works differently compared to other monster hunter games in that the material costs are not specific. Each material has a type (usually the monster you got it from) and a point value ( 1, 3, and 10 for most.) A rare 10 point material is only worth 10 of the 1 point materials. So use the auto fill, it makes life easier.
My tip for farming would be to make a KO monster, white monobolis has skill that one shots, it works on all monsters except deviants and elders, so you can one hit boss monster or if you accidentaly bump into something, and i use it for leveling in S. lair 9
Great video! I would love to see a do’s and dont’s of monstie building. I’m just now building my post-Special Elder’s Lair team, and I’ve been second guessing what genes are best for PvE, is it important to have a power, speed, and tech attack on every monstie, stuff like that. Thoughts?
Here a tips , skill with low accuracy (heavy spear , etc) is unique when perform Head-to-head , your monstie won't taken any damage when it MISS , BUT! your kinship gauge will refill as usual. I found it useful for early games , specially to gives your main monstie variety of attack type to win head-to-head without changing to related type of monstie againts foe. Also low accuracy skill will 100% hits when you perform double attack with sides effect , for example Heavy spear won't gives you critical but the damages calculated.
That was so many things that l should have known. Ironically the kinship didn't surprise me, though it feels like theres a timer on riding so using it as a counter past lvl 3 doesn't work, but i never even tried to boost my character's stats. I've just been hoarding nutrients. 😂
From my experience doing Co-OP with friends, chest loot isn't predetermined. I was curious about it and asked my friend what they got from an earlier chest, I got an Expedition Ticket and they got a Nutriment.
I have a tip for when getting eggs and a monster shows up to attack, if you go to your map OR just the menu and wait like 4-5 seconds 9 times out of 10 you'll just be out of range to be in battle then just follow behind them like in the video and you can escape without battling
If you do the tickets with randoms. Get one shot genes from white monoblos and the shrouded nerscylla. Even if your random encounters everything it should be a walk in the park.
around 3:00 you mentioned "advanced upgrades" What are they? how do I unlock them? I'm at Z8 of s.elder's lair and googling "advanced weapon upgrades" doesn't show anything, less so anything that implies the need for rare monster materials
I have another tip, give your monstie a deadly horn jab gene and max it out to level 3 so you can one shot every monster (except elder dragons and deviants) it will help you a lot in den expeditions
I just got the game on PS4 and so I really want to platinum it, and the only thing that I'm missing is completing the gene book so do you have any tips
Good video, but one of the tips is incorrect. The materials used for crafting armor are by points, rare vs common doesn't matter as long as you don't go over the required points. Its actually better to use the 10 point ones as soon as you can, because then you have the smaller ones left to get to the exact amount you need when doing all the upgrades.
No. Some weapon upgrades require purely the rare drops. For a hypothetical example, the level 5 upgrade on the gravios horn would only accept gravios medulla and it needs 2 of them or something.
@@upd0g1No, they don't. A level 5 upgrade will take 20 pieces of a monster and a commendation in MHS2. This is different from the main games, which do require specific parts
I'm play8ng this game, and i dont want to end. This game is good, but need more challenge, you can just skip some enemies, Pokemon was some trainers that you cant escape. And a sad thing, the elder dragons and best mosters you can get after the end.

Rajang is very difficult to fight. My best advice: use traps as much as you can, use sleep knife, flash bombs, and surrogate gems if you have them. When Rajang is mad he will use different attack patterns but uses power when not mad. He is also the type of monster that attacks twice per turn when enraged so make sure to have armor with tenacity or some way to deal with that extra attack like evasion(XL).

You can do coop with an NPC by going to Local rather than Online on a Switch. I think it's slightly different on PC.
Yeah that was pretty much the point I was making by "solo"! Most cases I rather an NPC because they are invisible with you when you stealth and don't aggro monsters :)
I think when a monstie uses a skill on its own, it dosent cost any kinship skill
But if you make them do so it will
This was such a great video, thanks for the tips! Especially the 'running around the back technique' haha
