Could you make a video on every build you builded in which you show which genes you used and where you can get those genes? This would help a lot, because i also want to use some same monsties as you do
A full list of genes would help a lot. Most of the problem is needing to chart all this stuff out ahead of time, which you can't do if you've never seen a gene before. I'm assuming that S and M genes end up never being used later in the game.
@PlaugeofGripes HUGE TIP PLEASE READ Nutrients can be used on your hunter to boost stats permanently and there is a counter for each which is Ten of each kind of nutrient use them as you get them on your hunter instead of monsties to boost yourself since you are in every fight 🖖
A very important tip because you did not covered that up as you spoke about the prayer pot. The prayer and the offerings do NOT stack if they are of the same type. So actually the finding offering and the finding prayer dont stack and you dont get the 30% chance. Your main goal should always be the offering and the prayer is always a secondary function.
Actually, while the offering is in effect the prayer has NO effect (has been both double-checked via testing and datamined). Use the same prayer as your offering charm so if your charm wears off when you weren't paying attention, the prayer is still there to fall back on.
Big ups for not revealing any of the monsters that weren't already shown in trailers! Glad I can watch this before I get home to play the game later today
This game deserve more sales it’s hands down best switch game period I don’t care what anyone says it has everything no shortcuts good voice actors good animations monster hunter never disappoints plenty weapons armor no pay to win bs
Here is why monsties aren't really able to change elements: at the beginning when you get your monstie (lvl1) it has all normal stats ofc, if you now would place alot of genes into your monstie to change that element type it of course will stay a while that element BUT! if you go to your monstiepedia and look at any monster and the 3 option (ZR twice) you are at element values, those show the element attack and resistances Now those also show you how much those stats are increasing with each level, which means that at some point those element stats will overlap with the element you increased with genes and right after that will increase even further which will make them their default element again
Then if you have one monstie with fire lvl4 and water lvl3, and the other types at lvl1 (for example), if you put on it all water genes... It probably works?
@@adriansanchez7451 I am not sure, Depends on how high the level gets, I think sooner or later it will get outscaled too, but hopefully they fix that, I want my Dragon Seregios
great overview man, very insightful. i hope eventually we'll get some official info or datamine about changing monstie element because the color shift was one of my favorite features in the first game
It exists, but seems like it was scrapped partway through development because of how jank it is in its current state. It's better to play to the monster's strengths rather than being creative.
This is very useful information. Regarding the prayer pot, though, prayers and charms DON'T stack. If you have a Finding Charm active, adding Finding Prayer doesn't raise your chances any further. Even using a completely different prayer (Lucky, Gathering, etc.) will have no effect until the charm wears off.
I've only just gotten Razewing Ratha, but I'm trying to study up on the new bingo system ahead of time so that I can have a general idea of what I'm going to be looking for when Boltreaver finally comes out. Obviously, there's a lot of unknown factors right now, but having a lot of this information ahead of time will help me out a ton in building it up properly! I've gotten six monsties with Rainbow genes saved up from the demo, just in case I ever needed them.
The reason why your lvl 1 monster attack type changes is that with that gene, its fire attack is now greater then its thunder attack. Being a gene that gives a fixed amount of fire attack, the natural growth of thunder attack will eventually cause your monster to go back to having more thunder attack then fire attack.
To make your monstie a different element is to first max the monstie's lol then do the right of channeling, if your monstie can't lol up anymore, it can't revert
Love that you spoke to the yellow gene on your Nergigante - the fact that it’s beneficial for PVP. I’m really interested in PVP and there’s not really a huge amount of content dedicated to it and I’m trying to soak up every little bit at this point.
I feel this is the kind of mechanic that seems mind boggling right now but as soon as I finish the game and really start digging into it I expect it to be a lot easier than it looks
1 slight correction: The prayer doesn't work while a charm is active. So stacking a similar prayer and charm does not work either. You can test this by setting a different visible prayer and charm. For example an XP charm (shows charm exp in battle rewards) and Healing prayer (heals you at the end of every turn in combat). You will see additional XP rewards for 30 minutes, but no healing. And after those 30 minutes the charm runs out and you start getting healed, but no longer getting additional XP. That doesn't mean stacking the charm and prayer with the same effect isn't useful. It's pretty nice to know that when the charm runs out you at least have the prayer to still give you a bit of that boost, allowing you to finish that run without losing out on the effect completely.
Thanks for going light as possible on spoilers! I'm trying to tread lightly but if course I understand I'll probably see things inherently if I'm not careful lol. I totally screwed myself with the demo because I used a Japanese account to download it and the final game won't recognize the save, so I'm really behind now 😂
This is really helpful! I've no need to make my monsties super powerful as I don't intend to pvp. My main goal is to have a monstie made into each element though, I just like the idea of ice Rathian or fire Zamtrios lol. Great video and it's kind of you not to spoil anything (I've seen everything already but still! ;P )
I have heard that with the Prayer Pot, if you Pray for Rarer Genes using the 10% buff AND the 20% buff, it will just choose the higher buff, making the overall benefit just 20% not 30%.
I feel like that level 15 reversion back to the original element is a bug that they have yet to fix. I mean, it's not like it would happen in the old game, and it's cool to see what different variations of a kinship attacks there are.
I saw another video saying that if its natural element exceeds the strength of the genes used to change it, it'll revert as it levels. Which will happen really quick if you're using small genes. So that means it'll only be possible to change their color from finding the late-game L and XL genes.
@@AaaaNinja not even that is really possible because most monsties don't have their changed versions anymore. You'd have to have a monstie of which capcom forgot to remove the feature like Kut Ku and Aptonoth. However, seeing monsties use their ultimates with less of their element is also interesting.

In your 'Planning Ahead' section, when you slotted Ice Boost XL and Ice Launcher in a row, does Ice Boost XL ONLY boost Ice Launcher, Blizzard Breath and Diamond Wave (moves in the two bingos that it forms), or does it boost all ice moves in the grid? Since it's listed as a passive I would think the latter is true, but I'm just wondering.
You can't, a monstie is limited to 1 rainbow gene, and to be honest even if you could your monstie would honestly be really bad, since it wouldn't have any sort of active skills or passives.
Is it possible to use the rite of channeling to transfer a rainbow gene, or do you have to natively get a monstie that has one, and ideally in the middle slot?
Hello, Just started playing and trying to build up my favorites. So how do you get XL gene's/farm them? Im trying to follow but I got last in the sauce...😅

Pump nutrients into your hunter. Pukei gear is good at least for the demo. Also I like the arzuros armor for the extra health it gives. Either paradise or twosixnine have a video with more stuff if I'm remembering correctly. Also make sure you upgrade a weapon of each damage type.
@@Logan-ef8hq I saw the nutrient video, so the weapon type like bone doesn't really matter just make sure I have sword n shield, music hammer (or whatever u call it) and bow equipped?
@@HeavyHoggJP honestly you can use any combination of the weapon types but Sword and Shield/Hunting Horn/bow is looking to be your best bet. Just make sure to actively upgrade your gear and create new types of gear.
Is there any point in building up monsters before endgame? Just wondering if I should minmax anything right now or will I just end up getting better versions of my monsters in high rank?
Anyone knows if you level up the all-out Gene, the one that boost your monsties skill at the cost of more kinship, does it cost more kinship at higher upgrades?
Question: If you have the same Monstie in low rank and you get another in high rank. Remove all their genes and they’re the same level. Will they have the same base stats? Just wondering if I will need to find all my favorite Monsties again or can I just add the better genes to my current one.
What about when it won't let you put the same gene twice? Like, if my monstie has a blue tech gene, and I try to put another tech blue gene on, it won't let me, saying that you can only have one of each type? Does it mean I just have to look for more rare genes to hatch, then try to mix and match?
Wait so im confused when hatching eggs, is it better to use the one you hatched with the rainbow hatch effect as the monster u will start putting genes in?
So would you say it's worth taking attacks from other monsties to make their movepools diverse? I just dont have any idea if any monstie can technically use any gene, like say a rathalos with a water attack or putting a lagarios attack onto a zinogre for example
Any monstie can have any gene placed on them. For example, there are no speed dragon moves in the game, so something like Hell breaker is given to them.
Do you have any tips for people?

here i thought i would make a stygian thunderlord zinogre in stories 2 as well just like i did in stories 1 -sigh-
gonna copy some Builds, i might understand it that way 🤔
Is it possible for you to do a seregios build or a crit build for seregios
Is there any point in building up monsters before endgame? Just wondering if I should minmax anything right now or will I just end up getting better versions of my monsters in high rank?
You get the best genes out of highrank so after the story so save the building for after that
Anyone knows if you level up the all-out Gene, the one that boost your monsties skill at the cost of more kinship, does it cost more kinship at higher upgrades?
Question: If you have the same Monstie in low rank and you get another in high rank. Remove all their genes and they’re the same level. Will they have the same base stats? Just wondering if I will need to find all my favorite Monsties again or can I just add the better genes to my current one.
Why have some genes a black line around it , some a light blue line and some a golden line ?
That’s the size of the gene S, M, L, XL
What about when it won't let you put the same gene twice? Like, if my monstie has a blue tech gene, and I try to put another tech blue gene on, it won't let me, saying that you can only have one of each type? Does it mean I just have to look for more rare genes to hatch, then try to mix and match?
Wait so im confused when hatching eggs, is it better to use the one you hatched with the rainbow hatch effect as the monster u will start putting genes in?
this was lit
Brother you are so 5 head! Thank you but I will need to watch this a couple times.
Question, if a monster has a the same gene but one is a medium and the other a large, for example a vicious M and a vicious L, do they stack?
Would it be worth it stacking Crit Eye S,M,L,XL? Do they stack? Or should I keep Crit Eye L and 2 star it?
So I added ice res medium to my Black Diablos & for some reason it increased the Ice weakpoint number on her. Anyone got ideas why that happened?
is it possible if u can make a build for dreadqueen rathian?
