Behind the large pillar to the left of the fast travel point are two possible spawn location for rare dens which are not visible by just spinning around while flying. So make sure to not miss them.
I did this strategy to try and farm self heal xl from Nergi and I actually got and SR den to appear on accident. Well I got a free rainbow egg Velkhana out of it, so I’m not complaining lol
Velkhana. Can my nergigante that I got from a gold egg be just as good as one from a rainbow egg by giving him a nutrient for the locked slot and proper gene channeling? I tried for hours for him and S. Zinogre last night and gold is the best I've gotten for either, but I have tons of good genes from others I got rainbow eggs of that I can beef them up with if it'd be worth it. Please help with some advice?
he's simply too good to pass up. he's incredibly strong and on top of that he gets both roar, which is basically a stealth alternative, and the giant rock breaker which is always good to have.
So this may be a dumb question, but are the only differences from getting a normal egg vs high rank normal just the Genes or do they naturally have higher stats?
I literally just started farming Nergigante since im now on post game. After 5 resets i encountered my first SR 😳 think ill build my Teostra now. Hoping for Velkhana as well next ☺

I got my first Silverwind Nargacuga yesterday, which is awesome, but there was a Kirin sleeping in the nest so I'm still a bit disappointed. And I probably can't spell Velcana lol
I use the same strat except i sit on a mizu or any mons with dash so i can travel to the den faster, and since i change the day and night cycle instead of porting back to the place again to refresh the den spawns.. also i save whenever i spot a rare den and juz soft reset till i get at least a shiny of the egg i want before moving on for the next egg...
Velhkana still playing getting all monstie's in the base but planning to have him for mine team but still confused which team I want and try to understand what monsters are good anyway thanks for the video
You keep saying the other elder dragons are only in sr ticket co-op stuff, but that’s not really true, there’s a thing called a super rare den, which is how I got my Kushala and Silverwind

well i did this but i got a nergagante, but not in the way i was expecting, 1st rare den no monster last egg was nothing good and boom mama nergigante popped in to fight me
Man, I think it's really bad not having really hard challenges in the game without Online, and only being able to get the legendary and better genes and monsters only at the end. They should put the minuscule chances of spawning an SR nest before the end, like Shiny Pokemons.
you can only get nergi eggs after defeating the nergigante. If it helps i used a astalos and astalos armor and weapons to defeat nergi and it was quite easy.
Good thing the rainbow genes really dont even matter, you can just slot a rainbow gene in from another monstie, the best thing to look for is a wide open board, cuz you dont get elder dragon stimulants till later, I did get a universal one though, used it on my nerg to fill out his only locked spot.
Why not save before entering the dens? If you do, you get to keep the rare/super rare nests and the eggs inside the nests reset every time you quit the game and/or return to title. I did that during the story and got 3 rainbow Nergigante immediately after beating his boss fight.

I found my first super rare den today while farming for nergigante's. Then I found 2 more and got two thunderlord's so I am super happy :)
So lucky, I’ve been refreshing the area all day today and yesterday with no luck!!
I've got 2 now and got Velkhana and Kushala
Same but I only got 1 and got a velkhana
Really helpful to build out those neutral element monsties like Nerg and SW Nargacuga.

btw, for the last den, i like to stay in the den when the prompt appears and fast travel out to skip the extra loading screen, just a small time save

You need super rare tickets and use them in expeditions, purchased from the palico with bottlecaps

I've went into 10 high rank rare dens in terga and none of them had nerg eggs. What am I doing wrong.
It’s a lot of RNG, ive had better luck along the volcano trail where you fight nerg in the story
You have to beat nergigante first in the story if you haven’t done that yet

At what level do you start quick finishing HR mons? I was at 53 and couldnt kill simple hermitaurs 😭
It's down to gear and level if you have good gear at lvl 55 you can quick kill some monsters

ive just beaten him in the story. right after got a nergigante egg but for some reason the genes only have L not XL. any inputs on this?
Genes are rng, and the XL genes are typically found on rainbow eggs
Use a monster that can use nest search. Just hover over the found nests and youll see what kind of nests they are.

I would suggest just use a monstie has nest search then open map and look at the dens

I use to do that be I made my life easier but using rathans den skill and just look on my map instead over frying around saves so much time
Just got to high rank and boy do the monsters pack a punch now

velkana is not my favorit but I think his the best ice type monstie
Velkhana's Saddle is quite buggy, it just gets of its body and starts flying on its own xD

I don't like the look od Nergigante do I'm not going to get him on my team (though I might farm him for species genes ;) )
Im leveling mine upt to unlock their moves them slot them in to nergi in my party
I suppose if my game would've arrived on release day I'd have a Velkhana by now.

Of course i wasn’t farming nerg when it happened.
