Keep the hidden gems coming, one of my favorite series on the channel! As for horror, I’d even be interested in a top 5 or 10 instead of hidden gems. Just because I’m not too familiar with the genre at all.
Horror is always welcome. Always. ALWAYS. There's never enough horror, and that horror is never dark enough. Just straight up monsters murdering people, and people murdering monsters. Gore, death, tragedy. Need more.
Good list...I liked Pestilence as a series, the art and concept were great, but the writing could've been stronger. I had no idea about Animosity, I'm gonna have to check that out. Thanks for the recommendation
Wow I like your new video style for these types of video! Very Classy and love the slow down of the portion of the pages flipping so you can relax and just enjoy the art while you riff.
@@NearMintCondition if it’s too much or ever becomes work that sours the way you feel about what your doing, please do trim it back. I love love love the art in Pestilence, it’s fantastic. Unfortunately, IMO, not Frank Tieri’s best writing work. Characterization got really cliche approaching the end.
My personal favorite horror comic is Revival, by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton. It’s a really solid supernatural mystery, with a sort of Coen Brothers-meets-Twin Peaks tone. It’s great, is my point.
I had only heard of 2 of these books so I really do appreciate these hidden gem vids. So of course I’d love more! Thanks for doing these, Omar! P.S. To anyone watching who isn’t subscribed, NMC only needs 100 more subs for 30k and there will be an awesome giveaway! :)
Nice collection of horror themed books! One I recommend is the serie 68 by Image Comics -> great story with decent art and in my opinion it is totally a hidden gem because almost nobody talks about it. Great work Omar and stay save and healthy!
Yes please keep going with the hidden gems! I need to add to my wish list! Also is anyone else noticing that many of the newer books are sold out within the same week? I have about 20 books I can't get because they are now greyed out to buy.
Oh man, I've never heard of The Unknown. Since it's from Boom I hoped it would be on ComiXology Unlimited so I can read it soon, it is, and I'll be starting it this week.
I'm not sure if it's considered a hidden gem but I don't think Alan Moores From Hell series is talked about enough. It's damn right disturbing at times and explores many themes.
I read animosity when I just became a vegetarian and it resonated so well with everything I was thinking about. It was an emotional but very deep book and I can't recommend it enough
Thanks for another hidden gems, and for the content warnings. I read comics to escape bad stuff reflected in real life. I'd definitely be interested in you continuing this series, maybe rotating through a selection of themes and genres. Have you done a video on Marvel/DC horror recommendations? You probably have at some point, but I can't find it, and searching online usually only comes up with really expensive editions of Tomb of Dracula etc 🤔 Anyway, keep up the good work, and hello from England!
Not sure if youve covered it before but in a similar vein i'd like to recommend Namor; The Depths by Peter Milligan & Esad Ribic. Its a miniseries unlike your average marvel book, its very much more a horror book with heaps of thalassophobia. well worth a read and i dont see a lot of people talk about it!
Some people are all about freedom of their opinion, but when it comes to opinions of other people than themselves.... well, that is a problem :D I love discussion, as you said. It is what drives the world. Great recommendations, Omar!!!
Animosity sounds really cool. I wouldn’t like that the hardcovers are different sizes... any word on Year One to match Year Two? Thanks for your cool videos!
@@NearMintCondition Hey Omar, I just saw there is a solicit for the Animosity Omnibus HC coming out in November! I thought you would be happy about that haha
Hi Omar, I was think about picking up 'A Walk Through Hell: The Complete Series by Garth Ennis' hardcover, is it a good horror/thriller as everyone praise it to be?!
not a big fan of horror but I have read some of these hidden gems. One book I will start to read is The Unknown by Mark Waid. And I can read it on ComiXology. My kind of mystery stories. Ideas for future episodes interview Mark Waid and some hidden Scifi or children's stories. Saludos a la familia
Hey I'm relatively new to comics been reading manga my whole life and I know this is a hidden gems but I don't even know that the must read horror books are is there any plans for a video covering any collected editions of classic must read horror books?

Wow. These five really flopped for me. I read the first trade of Animosity and didn’t like it. Redlands was pretty good, what I read of it but the singles came out in such a haphazard way that I just stopped reading. Dark Ark and Pestilence I hated. The Unknown was okay but just okay, I felt there was so much more possibility there and it just didn’t deliver.

Color me intrigued on Pestilence, Dark Ark, and The Unknown. Thanks for telling us about these books Omar
Was that a Koala with a revolver in the first book!?! Colour me interested.

The Unknown and Pestilence have most definitely sparked my interest.
Absolutely keep up this video series!

I can see that about Pestilence. I hope you enjoy Animosity.
Hungry Ghosts is a great HC horror comic. It is written by the late Anthony Bordain.
I'll have to check that out.
been considering Animosity for while. might have to add it to my next order.
Thank you so much for all for your amazing videos. This is so enriching for me to find out and read all of these awesome suggestions!

I just bought both hardcover of Animosity from your video! I love the premise thank you for recommending it!

Thanks Omar, really enjoying this series. We have one more week in October so why not make it a trilogy! :)

LOL I should add that.
Hey Omar, pretty sure Animosity is available in Hardcover format (Year 1, Year 2, Year 3). Not sure if Oversized though.
Could you please keep up with hidden gems going
Thank you for the recommendations! What about a list of most polarizing books. Love it or hate it stories/art.
Love this idea, even though its all subjective. I may work on this list. Thank you.
Redlands is in hiatus, it´s half way through! But there should be more coming someday
