Another thing about WuWa's worldbuilding is that its locations are somewhat to scale for a liveable place. There's enough buildings and houses sprinkled around to match the number of npc's that would live there or are needed to run a city of that scale. Meanwhile, in Genshin where in the 5.1 archons quest, there were around 2000-4000 casualties in natlan yet even all the tribes combined with the amount of houses and buildings it makes it feel like there's only 500 people minimum in natlan (and this goes for other regions too like inazuma and watatsumi island having enough people to warrant a military yet there's like 5-10 houses in each area)
Absolutely YES. Ragunna gave me vibes or Suramar (city in wow) . The city that can hold the majority of the nation. I liked Sumeru for that reason with huge port ormos and many rural townies. On the onther hand - natlan. The main city looks like inhabited amusement park. And why noone talks about natlan resort/village for whole tribe which counts one or two huts when one of these is literally shop? Thats crazy. Even if wuwa didn't exist id just left genshin because of natlan.
Bethesda RPG ah moment. No kiding, Bethesda games always suferred from those weird small cities with wierd small populations ments to represent those kingdoms, fiefs, and so on, its a bit jarring.
@@BryanFerreiro i agree it is more so an rpg problem then it is a genshin problem, and you just either have to except it or never play anything, but a handful of rpgs.
I was a daily player in Genshin too, 100% every region and did (almost) every side quest. I switched to Wuwa due to curiosity and honestly, Genshin seems so predatory in comparison. You won’t regret playing, I felt like I got more awards in a week of playing compared to the months I spent maxing Fontaine lol
I play both games. I just pulled for Mav, her weapon, and Citlali. I still play Genshin. I just don't spend on it anymore because I don't want to support greedy devs. I agree with you. Though I have never defended Genshin against WuWa coz it's a lost cause, I still do like Genshin. WuWa 2.0 though. It felt like a triple A game and Genshin is a cheap knock off version of it.
If genshin writers wrote Raguuna, we wouldn't have met Zani and had her as a companion throughout first two acts. We would've gotten a non-descript, generic NPC that explains every square inch of Raguunas history and infrastructure for the first two acts and ONLY THEN would we have met Zani. Oh, and they would've made Abby interject every sentence saying how interesting everything that the generic NPC is saying is.
Wuwa writer writes genshin. Aether joins the tournament and win then saves Natlan. After the war of course there is victory dance but Mualani and Kachina joins the dance.
And this is only just 2.0. We basically just finished episode 1, the story is going to get a lot crazier. The Dark Tide is going to get a lot of people more interested in the lore.
I would love to be wrong for this, but personally I don’t really have much expectations for the Dark Tide, contrary to what a lot of people, especially some fellow PGR bros think. Reason being the circumstances surrounding it are vastly different in scope and scale versus the Red Tide. What I mean by this is that the Dark Tide was A. primarily localized to Rinascita and B. reportedly a product of Imperator’s dysfunctions/wounds in a similar vein to Jue losing control of her time abilities over Mt. Firmament. Overall, it fits the same mold and role of the retroact rain seen in Jinzhou, and I feel like we’ll see something similar for waveworn phenomena in other regions rather than the same thing. Meanwhile the Red Tide was an evolutionary step of the widespread problem that was the Punishing that, let me remind you, happened about naturally and likely would have gotten to its point seen in PGR regardless of having Gabriel and Nugget cultivate its growth with the introduction of the heteromer fragments from the ISS. All they did was simply expedite the process significantly.
I like that we didn't really see too much of the villians in Mt Firmament and Black Shores. Because now that they've come back we see that they've been working on their own plans and even though we stopped them in Renacita they're still making progress in other endevours.
Honestly, despite Jinzhou having a rough start, it at least feels like an actual land of war for me with its environmental settings and the characters there. Compared to Natlan where it feels like a Disney-fied version of jurassic park with the rainbow friendship squad..
Jinzhou : "Ngl, we are in deep sh*t, but we'll survive no matter what." Natlan : "Yeah, yeah...we are fighting the abyss...but hey, let me show you this new trick I can do on my super modern bike! Oh, and we have pokemon and tagged mountains too."
Even after 1.3, Tethys made me feel the destruction of Jinzhou with its visuals when we first saw Guaixu (the one town where infernal rider is, I forgot how to spell it)
Natlan felt like they wanted to go 3 seperate directions with it- they wanted to make the characters have their modern tech, the lore was trying to focus on the whole dragon thing, and the story was focused on the abyss and the whole power of friendship thing If they had committed to any of these it could have worked The real war was the art direction all along ig.
nah the gameplay sucks major ball hair too, the saurans are far too slow and limited to the red energy crap, proper traversal is locked behind limited 5 stars, and the 5 stars themselves have limited teams because of their reuqirements to be teamed up with each other, natlan sucks in every way. edit: the puzzles wouldnt challenge a mf 4 year old either
by far one of the most beautiful settings I ever seen in a Gacha game. I could spend hours exploring this world, listening to the music, and being the whole time. There a feeling of peace and comfort to it all that I really enjoy.
I’d say in all of gaming not just Gacha. Played them all from capcom, platinum games, from soft, square enix. Rinascita is memorable and is up there with some of best.
@@vmsc199 agree their taste for background building and atmosphere is just amazing. i'm exploring as slow as i can just so i can keep enjoying seeing new places. sadly im only missing 2 places to 100% them all, but they are still low % so i have a few more days of "ooooh, cooool" before i see it all xD
Exactly, even after finally maxing the map today I still find myself logging in not just to farm, but also just to fly around, hangout and relax for a while. Sure, WuWa has been a comfort game to me since I started playing it in June. But Rinascita didn't just live up to my expectations, it surpassed them. And it's given me that feeling of adventure and discovery I haven't felt in a game for a long time. And I'm so excited where the next patches of 2.0 might take us next (not to mention I'm REALLY looking forward to bringing Brant home) Love this game so much, and appreciate the work the devs are putting into it 🥰
i used to think that Natlan will have this aggressive landscape (after reading dialogues about natlan) and i was hype to see it... It's been a year since i first encounter Natlan's lore (from NPC) but i was just a fool for believing well it is what it is..
I thought it was gonna have a dangerous environment too and dangerous wild animals. Also the over heating mechanic from signora fight in some volcanic regions.
@@eddierayfrom what I heard in the lore Natlan was the Nation of War, and the Land of the Dragons and this was way before Natlan was released...oh boy oh boy how disappointed I am when it was just a pokemon ripoff world, I was fool for having an inch of expectation when Fontaine was released.
@@mr.edelweiss natlan was supposed to be a real war zone, but devs changed the concept at the last moment (certainly for newgens who even don't know the story of Vennessa herself), creating more plot holes. 🫠 otherwise i can't explain this circus

Also don't forget grandmaster Varka with entire Knight of Favonius cavalry and Capitano the strongest harbinger will be there. IT WILL BE ONE HELL OF CONFLICT AND WAR, HUUUUGEEEE Then I saw natlan first trailer intro, everything turned into shit
wuwa is the embodiment of how the gacha dev's should try to be, and i'm also surprised on so many CC forgot the new QOL updates on maps exploration in 2.0 really helps the player to complete their exploration. like i manage to 100% the entire rinascita maps in under a week without interactive map only using what the game offers in game, while in genshin in 4 years i haven't even done mondstad map to 100% completion rate even with interactive map just because its so tedious to tab in and tab out of the interactive map, the QOL on wuwa is by far the best among other gacha in term of convenient alone
true true.. and the best part is.. its totally up the player. I like to explore and waste time , but IF i get bored i can just follow the game tips about where things are. this way exploration NEVER gets boring because it goes with my pace, not with the pace im forced to follow like in Genshin. And i REALLY hope they add flight everywhere, because it just makes the game 10x better... i don't think a single soul can ever argue that exploration in 1.0 was better than in 2.0 , it just feels like FREEDOM, not being forced to warp all the time, and just fly up a very tall mountain or rock formation without the need to climb and run out of stamina, and so on.. you can explore areas that are a total empty space, and not be pissed cause it took 20 seconds to reach there XD
i actually expected internal conflict between the tribes and them being unwelcoming to the mc. But holy shit, i actually witnessed how shit looks like in natlan.
I hope you have used the interactive map to complete the GI maps, come on if there are so many tools and facilities to do so, even now with the quests that gives you to complete at least 80% effortlessly much better than before. Come on, GI doesn't treat you like a little kid who needs help looking for things, trust that you as a player and your curiosity will end up discovering quests, writing, ancient ruins, and endless things, that's the idea of the GI exploit, since you are an "adventurer" looking for adventures.
@@Rozherhn gacha games want either your money or your time, if a gacha game refuses to give good QoL for exploration, reasonable time in events, skip button and etc, it means this game is trying to be predatory and exploit you by wasting more of your time or making you spend more money on it, its not because "they want you to act like a real adventurer" Giving QoL and more options, is not treating players like little kids, its respecting your decision of how you want to spend your time, and wanting you to enjoy 100% of the time you spend in the game.
It's so funny how the scenarios were reversed, the world building of Mondstadt is very interesting, it works very well, we start the game without any pressure or information being dumped from everywhere, we learn about that world gradually, and we progress according to how interesting things are, like when we're walking and Dvalin randomly appears, we obviously get curious and follow him, while in Wuthering Waves the introduction was the opposite, Chixia and Yangyang simply buried us in information, I didn't even have the ability to digest it all properly, it was confusing, heavy and when I arrived in Huanglong I was already tired of the story, before the story even really began, which hampered much of my later experiences with the story and worldbuilding. In Rinascita and Natlan the games were simply reversed, the scene of Rover going up the elevator and leaving the cave to see a whole mystical world, with that soundtrack it brought me an enthusiasm that I haven't felt for games in years, while Natlan just seems boring and tiring. Rinascita's story and worldbuilding has improved so much that I would say it competes with Genshin's best example, and in some cases even surpasses it.
@@Exoskel2I don't think it's just about that, Genshin still managed to deliver some excitement after Inazuma, although a lot of it dissipated thanks to the pacing being so slow, a story is not just about the narrative that is being told at that moment, it is the way it is constructed previously, and how it answers current questions later, Genshin failed to meet the demands of what they were building, which wore down my interest in the story.
@@Exoskel2 The peak for me was probably just the release of Inazuma. The final act was a huge let down and made me realise there's no point in doing the story..
I don't think anyone is saying anything about this, but even the daily quests actually impacts your world. First the cat dailies, now the chick working with margerita lol. It's such a small aspect, but I honestly appreciate small stuffs like this that clearly had an effort put into them, but nobody gives an f about 😂
Genshin did something like this where you helped repair the stairs of the big inn in the tree in Liyue, and the stairs remained fixed after you did the dailies. Unfortunately, I don't think they ever revisited this concept. Love that WuWa is doing this.
I didn't notice that about the cat daily quest but I did notice it when I did the pizza girl quest. From her wanting to work at Margherita to wanting to learn to make her own food. It really surprised that there was a sense of progression even though it was still pretty much the same quest
I ain’t glazing, but that meme of Genshin characters in McDonald’s caps hits deeper than it seems. It’s like pulling up to the same fast-food joint, ordering the same cheeseburger, fries, and Coke, then hoping it’ll magically taste different. Sure, sometimes they drop a seasonal banger like the Prosperity Burger, but let’s be real-it’s a rare W, like once every 5-7 patches kinda rare. Wuthering Waves, though? That’s a whole different vibe. It started off like street food-some humble, warm noodle cart that had its ups and downs. But instead of staying stagnant, it listened, evolved, and leveled up. Fast-forward to patch 2.0, and that noodle cart’s now a fire restaurant with a solid 4.5-star rating. It's not perfect, but the glow-up is undeniable.
I really like their Signature Craft approach, but since almost everyone at the staff are so clueless, it felt so awkward to me, which is why they stopped it years ago.
Rinascita is my favourite open world experience in gacha game. It sometimes feels like Elden Ring which to me is one of the most immersive world ever. The immensity of it all, the verticality, the attention to details, the music... This region is so good. And imo even before 2.0, exploration was better than Genshin. Black Shores and Mt Firmament are already gorgeous and the ease of movement in Wuwa makes it all better than the P2W exploration of mickey mouse region in Genshin. But 2.0 puts Wuwa an entire league above, now the world itself feels so... alive. On a sidenote the downgrade from Fontaine to Natlan is truly insane, it needs to be studied
I can see the inspirations from Elden Ring (Oakland Highcourt), Death Stranding (The Strand), Bayonetta (Ragunna) in Rinascita. Such an amazing update!
Few days earlier, they put out a survey to ask for character suggestions and so I did according to my taste. But the last part of the survey asked: "What else could we do to improve the game?" and I wrote: "Don't be afraid to yeet your characters for the sake of world building/story". I want to cry for these beautiful world Kuro gave us
very true. i know people dont like character deaths but for example zenless. if ceaser actually died for the outer ring it would have held so much more weight, at the very least in her case there was genuine reason to her living
Exactly this. If you wanna make a compelling story there NEEDS to be real stakes and sacrifices. This is why Hi3 is the only story (in gachas) that I haven't skipped
@@Jordynowo it would hold no weight, just a poitless death for the sake of dramatic moment. Everyone would just forget about her, and she wouldnt impact the gang world in any way, there would just continue to be strifes

To me, Rinascita feels like a love letter to early Genshin. The feeling when you first boot up and arrive in Mondstadt... you saw Mondstadt in the distance... its windmill, its warm sun. There was a lot of work to the world building... it feels like an actual place. Then you explore... and cross the Stone gate for the first time and saw Wangshu Inn in the distance and it took your breath away. You make convos with NPCs, sharing trouble on their daily lives. Rinascita have the SAME EXACT VIBE. This is what Genshin had lost ever since they reached Halfway in Fontaine, they are just so damn focus on making Convoluted lores and Marketing Push on a banner that it felt so out of place.
I did not noticed it if he had talked about it, BUT as he said the City feels alive i want to add the Note: Even while Day- and Nighttime they changed the behaviour of the NPCs for example while Nighttime there are some NPCs dancing in the corners of the Streets, while Daytime the dont do it. Its like Nighttime is Partytime. XD
@@zeroliner4034 You are actually correct Fountain was by far one of the best storylines as well as region it genuinely felt like a new region and refreshed a lot of burnt out players
my opinion. Inazuma and natlan are equally shit but this 'shit' comes from different place. In inazuma I wish Ei stayed evil, the storyline, except the start, was IN SHAMBLES. Natlan is just ass I don't even wanna talk about it. Modstadt was 'fun' the story wasn't like absolute masterpiece or the exploration was tiring. It was fun logging in and enjoying. Liyue too was somewhat tiring in exploration but it was fun and the story was somewhat better. Sumeru had a good story but the pacing was ass and the exploration, god awful. Fontaine's story, ngl carried by furina's FUCKING PEAK CHARActer but overall fontaine's story compared to any region was the greatest. The exploration was ok too, neither tiring like sumeru but not as good as mondstadt.
@@ShiningJoshnightcore hating on inazuma is the most npc behavior ever like it doesn't even take that much brain to realize it's not finished it's literally the shortest archon quest and even if it was it's still miles better than the walking simulator of boredom that was the liyie quest like just use your brain ☠️
rinascita update set the bar high for upcoming gacha ang gacha game updates. i hope this will serve as a challenge for other gacha games to create a better update for the players.
Natlan has beasts like the Mountain King-- which looks like somebody's damned fursona. It's this big fuzzy goober with a jiggly pot belly which it loves to rub and has big stompy feet with toe beans. Hardly something that seems like a beast native to land that's supposed to be marred by *war.* Natlan's beasts look like cute plushies you'd buy at some extra soft store at the mall. Meanwhile in Rinascita, I get to fight the Dragon of Dirge *which is this absolutely badass undead dragon made out of bones and hatred atop a dark and spooky mountain that the circus people live under.* I can go to the Averardo Vault and fight Sentry Construct-- *This Prime Warframe lookin'-faceass in a glittering arena that looks like the damned Orokin themselves built it.* Badass beasts fought in badass arenas located around a stunning landscape with varied locales ranging from heavenly hills, imposing fortresses, somber swamps, spooky deadlands and stormy shores. WuWa really killed Genshin for me; I tried to play Genshin again for Mavuika but holy crap... I really can't go back; it feels so much worse to play than WuWa. From gameplay to design to atmosphere to music to writing, Kuro Games is *COOKIN'* and I look forward to everything they add to both WuWa and PGR 🔥
@@eddieray Natlan should take the world record for "Softest Wartorn Nation" ever portrayed in a work of fiction. Genshin has always been soft with its world and its wildlife, but Natlan is a softness overload. We're reaching Soft levels that shouldn't even be possible.
The warframe reference for the construct was quite accurate tbh, I like it. And where we have to fight it? Bro, the area made me feel like I was in Elden Ring. My brain froze for 5 minutes because of how cool it looked.
I've been out even since the opening of Wuwa 1.0, and never intend to return to Genshin. However, towards the opening of Natlan, when they introduced and showed Capitano's form in the story, there was a little intention for me to return when his Banner appeared and I predicted that his Banner would be at the same time as Mavuika or after Mavuika. at that time also coincided with the news that Ororon would become *5 and Citlali *4 As the patch progresses, my guess is wrong, Ororon will become *4. then I thought like "Hey, Capitano is much cooler than this guy. I just need to wait and will log back when the banner is released" until the closing patch of Natlan's AQ, they decided to kill Capitano, makes Mavuika Mary Sue, Citlali suddenly became *5 just for the sake of Fanservice, and in the future the characters will be filled with female characters in cheap gooner fanservice and yep, I decided not to return to that worst game
Honestly, looking at Kuro game's past record with PGR and its deep and mature storytelling (chapter 21, Lee my goat!) I have high hopes for wuwa's future. I'm a huge sucker for science fantasy so yeah lol and wuwa is diverse when it comes to themes.
I love how coherent characters in Rinascita are. Characters fits their theme and background. Zani is an office lady, who dresses and acts like an office lady. Carlotta has the right amount of things setting her apart making her special because she's the daughter of a mafia family who wears gemstones for heels. Phoebe literally has the same outfit as every other members of her organization, only with a little more polys and wears her scarf a bit differently. No one here sticks out like a sore thumb in their world.
Honestly when i went back to playing wuthering waves and saw one of the loading screen and i was like: "wait a minute that looks like the place near the erd tree castle in elden ring"
The genshin regions before Natlan were good, the setting I mean. Genshin had already become unbearable to play and Natlan was the final nail in coffin for me. But honestly, I can't fully 100% blame the devs for being lazy with Natlan. I mean why need to improve and make a good quality product, when it was basically easy money for them? They put in very little passion and minimal effort, but as long as they locked QoL behind paywall, they still made tons of money every month from their loyal cattle 😂 😂
Even before Natlan, inazuma had issues with its pacing, sumeru and fontaine had a lots of boring yapping but forgiven because of how good the closing act. But Natlan feels like it was written by someone who is not a genshin writers but my little pony writer! Power of friendship, suddenly singing in bands or goofy ah dancing proof it all
I'll never forgive Hoyo for making Natlan the way it is. If Natlan was Jurassic Park for kids, Shnezhnaya might as well be Frozen with walking little snowmen and Tsaritsa being a literal copy of Elsa
There's literally that one exile that does situps and squats. The wildlife feels so alive too. I can't, I've never stared at half a dozen monsters duking it out against a bear and still losing, and enjoying it. It's too much fun.
There's an echo owl practicing on his magic and a teddy bear enjoying the book she's reading. They are so cute you'll feel bad if you try and bother them.
We can change ourselves, but you can't expect others to change. A CC of a channel has a certain mindset and some of the comments will reflect that. People who don't like Genshin will look for a CC who also doesn't like Genshin. The only thing you can do is look at a channel that actively plays both Genshin and Wuwa and has no bias against either of them. You will surely find a better community there. But many of the comments in this video praise Wuwa without comparing it to Genshin, so you do you
Okay WuWa is great with everything but they missed a part where genshin was ahead. If you never did the Moonchase festival in WuWa and meet Zhezhi she will STILL give a picture of you together and act like she knew you from that event. One of my friends got confused after joining the game in 2.0 and doing Zhezhi story quest. In genshin the dialogue changes in the story if you interacted with a character before in an event or after doing certain quests. Which actually builds a relationship with the world. WuWa should fix this.
yall dont get it like i do. ive waited like 5 years for this shit, logging in periodically even when i would feel genuine despair when id see that log in screen. All just because i was waiting for natlan. I saw the leaks and immediately fell to my knees I could not believe what i was seeing
As someone who really gets into worldbuilding, Natlan is a disaster. its like every aspect of the region, story, geography, architecture, characters, society, was made by different individuals who just smashed all of it together without any connection. Its crazy different since Fontaine and Sumeru were great.
Nation of War... If I close my eyes and I think how it will look... I see blood... Arrows flying... Swords hitting against each other... Soliders fighting... And God of War... I see something like Kratos... Dinosaurs... I see big huge T-Rexs... I didn't fucking see a nation that have "the power of friendship" I didn't see a girl riding with a motorbike in a medieval-like anime gatcha game I didn't saw small creatures that are "dinosaurs", or something like that
@@eddieboston6540 guess what? Nobody was right about Natlan either. They made the entire nation more peaceful than any pokemon world. Also a small (big) detail about worldbuilding: Half the city is basically the church district, but compared to the rest of the city its basically empty. There are some people praying and some priests, but thats it. We have a block the size of the Montelli quarter, with the population of 10 m² of the rest of Raguna.
@@Vaurnaltand it was very war-like, characters were fighting left and right. Would love to see it in the future again but on a global scale where every region is affected, and if you stop the main quest and go to other places, you would see everyone is affected by that full scale global war.
Not to mention territorial dispute among echoes and a soldiers sabjugating echoes i really like i t😊 it makes the world alive-like and fun to explore when you see them
I just started this game like a week ago and I'm honestly blown away not only because of the main quest but on how they explain the culture of Jinzhou and the problems that lay within. Not to mention the exploration quest such as the Mourning Aix and the Dim forest (Still new) are my favorites as I'm sucker for quests that impacts and changes an area.
Genshin character style is still make sense until inazuma arrive, like Barbara with her church background and Zhongli with fancy suit because his job. But since inazuma everything look out of place (Except Fontaine their character fit the Theme), the new character looks completely different from NPC and their background, like Gorou didn't wear troop equipment like other troop, Al Haitami & Kaveh is a scholar but didn't wear anything that other NPC Scholar wear. But in Wuwa, you can tell this character is from military just because they wear something similar with random military NPC or like Phoebe wearing similar outfit with NPC from the same Church and Zani is just an office worker with her Shirt and Plain Pants like NPC from the bank. And don't make me start again with the Rosemary Pharmacist and Nyarla that look like playable character but just NPC
natlan feels like it belongs to tower of fantasy lolz rinacita was so immersing, was so immersed n story after a long time. the interactions with ice girl was just nice
The world of Wuwa 2.0 has soul but still has a long way to go to make it feel alive. When you leave an area it feels like time stands still there. Can easily be solved with wandering NPCs, random events, and relevant hangouts for main characters. A good and simple example is Egla Town. By day it’s vibrant and peaceful. At night it’s eerie and whimsical. When you’re away and the sun sets you know those lamps are doing their thing and echoes start roaming the streets.
Actually that all does happen, there’s legit a side quest with phoebe just outside the city. There’s the hidden knights quest line that u can randomly start
The soul is there and they just need more muscle aka money and time. Kuro is still an tiny company compared to Hoyoverse not mentioned the amount of made from each of their games. Just keep promoting the good game with the good company.
@@amari7782 I'm thinking more organic/random encounters not scripted ones. Think encounters in GTA/RDR, travelling NPCs/characters on the road and actually exist in the world and not despawn/respawn by proximity, Skyrim immersive mods like NPC schedules and workplaces, main characters randomly popping up in places that make sense (Phoebe around church, Zani around bank, Brant/Roccia around Fool's elysium, Carlotta in posh places. They do a good job with environmental storytelling when you progress quests and the area changes but after that nothing.
Genshin community always defending the motorcycle etc by giving a whole paragraph of lore and saying that people who are complaining is forgot and not reading it It feels like you just being forced to accepting that there's a motorcycle when you see around a world with traditional lifestyle and dinosaurs They forgot that to deliver a good story is to show and don't tell
Natlan had the BIGGEST expectation (even beating Sumeru or Fontaine) for a while ever since the original Teyvat Chapter Storyline, and to see that it underdelivered compared to players expectations is a little sad. Sumeru and Fontaine in contrast was overdelivering in many ways compared to player's expectation. Also a big negative was the VA situation during Natlan patch which didn't help the situation. I hope the post-Archon story of Natlan will improve, but that requires the region itself to be fun and lore-driven in the first place. At this point, any story in Natlan requires a lot of exposition before actually doing the quests... which won't help the yapfest complaints of Genshin as a whole.
also, bonus points to wuwa for sticking to one culture instead of grabbing cultures from completely different continents, mashing them together and whitewashing them
That point about the NPCs and the lore, yeah that definitely stuck out to me. There's some RPGs that do that kind of world building really well, and I was immediately thinking of that pretty much from when I first stepped into Raguuna. Honestly this patch is leagues above the beginning of the game, it has left me quite impressed. (One other thing, who's gonna tell him that Zani's accent is Greek, not Italian?)
This is such a great analysis of a worldbuilding in WuWa vs Genshin. Genshin's fantasy medieval setting inspired me to make my own fantasy medieval world, but WuWa truly taught me HOW to get it done. (I don't wanna repeat how good Rinascita is,so I'll just discuss about Natlan) Natlan felt so out of place, with all of them just centered around "fun and colorful" when every other character mentioned some horror wars happening there. I know there's like,a war in the archon quests somewhere, but the nation itself doesn't really scream "war". Like,to me,the nation of war should've had ruins, traces of war,and maybe some scraps here and there to prove that the nation had been through a tough time. Not to mention the technologies are super advanced. Sure,Fontaine has some techs as well, but the techs fit in with the nation. Natlan doesn't seem to have any modern architecture, but they have fricking motorbike,a flying gun,a rollerskates, something like that. How? And why? Now that I let my opinions out,I feel like it's an answer to those who said "but they have robots in Mondstadt","but Fontaine has modern technologies too". Man I wish the people who said that read my hot take on this topic. By the way,I'm starting a story where my OCs,being a humanoid butterfly and moth, exploring the world of other humanoid creatures. Of course, the world they are living in is quite medieval, like Liyue and Fontaine/Rinascita combined. I know people are uninterested, but it's still in the works,so hopefully I'll get to publish it someday in a form of books or series, maybe even a game💙
Ngl one thing I personally LOVE about the characters in Rinacita is that they each carry their own importance in the story This was a bit of a main issue I have with most story quests (coughcoughgenshicoughcough), they have so many characters that most of then either don't make a single appearance, don't play an important role or are just thrown in at the last second and this happens a bit in Huanlong where a few characters like Lingyang, Yuanwu and Taoqi appeared only around at the last second to continue the story and the only reason Lingyang had such an impact on the fandom was bvuz of his character story quest. Another thing Huanlong did is give us character that seem important only for them to immediately be tossed to the side (Scar and Camellya FIGHT ME ON CAMELLYA I DARE YOU) Rinacita, actively balances their characters. Granted, we only have 5 confirmed playable characters but it still does a great job at balancing it. You would think at first that we wouldn't see Brant or Roccia again after they saved us and brought us to Rinacita but not only do they save us again but they also play a very important role in our mission to save Rinacita. Same with Phoebe, she may not have had a big role in the mission in the end but she still had an impactful role on the story and we also see how conflicted she is after she finds out about what the order is doing and I love that Kuro, keep it up you're doing an amazing job, pls don't let greed get the best of you like with A CERTAIN GAME WITH G AND I AS ITS INITIALS🫶
I’m sorry. Renistica was great I enjoyed it but that people enjoy something there’s no need to shit on others let’s be all kind and polite and both games great. Also my advice u can explore Natlan it’s pretty fun and there is a lot of ruins and war signs
Not gonna lie, you have the big point here. Wuthering Waves did a good job building their world, it feels more livelier than genshin because of the appreciation of NPCS, living things, nonliving things, and every songs.
The amount of people who are instead flying using the flight mechanic instead of the teleporting to a resonance beacon says A LOT in itself. Rinascita is the pinnacle of world building in gacha games and I will die on this hill.
Also i really it that genshin doesn't do set up and pay offs that well. (Like fontaine underground area) Like the world is amazing Ashkai does so many good theory videos but in the game the actual story quests never do any of those theories justice. Also i am obsessed with wuwa's nier aesthetics so much.
Phoebe's character is a perfect glimpse at someone who's been raised in the church her whole life but is now becoming disillusioned by it as their darker truths come to light. We didn't even get to see much of it yet (I'm sure with her taking center stage in 2.1 it'll be exoanded) but even just seeing lorelei call the current resonator of the church a fake and seeing her faith waiver was so emotional for someone like me who was raised in the church. It's not a connection everyone will make, but if you get it then it REALLY hits home
How do I like this video 1M times? Liking it just once doesn’t seem enough to express how perfectly it captures the way we players feel about our experiences in Rinacita.
As someone who play and quit Genshin, it definitely cause of Natlan and the lack of immersion in the game. Coming from a banger archon quest in Fontaine, it definitely felt like you were a part and actually believed that this is how it would look. Even dating back to Inazuma were EVERYTHING was Japanese related, from the color theme to housing to the dress code and most of all...THE MUSIC. I think we can all agree that Inazuma had one of the best ost of all time. The characters and story telling in that archon all felt so immersive and I think that's what Natlan lacked HEAVILY. I didn't even finish act one the archon quest for 5.0 cause it felt so boring and fake. If I have to force myself to sit through hours of boring content am I really enjoying the game?
ragunna as a city feels natural, the citizens are hanging out somewhere and the alleys, buildings are a bit similar that you can get lost if you dont use mark feature on map
"When every department from art to music to writing aligns under a single vision" then proceed to show "Gathering Wives" meme, it couldn't be more real than this 😂 Aside from the joke, as a gamer who always hate playing open world game as it's so time-consuming, I really enjoy playing WuWa. Also I love the editing in this video! 👍
The whole part in the story quest where you sit down with Zani and have a chat is so chill. The water in the canal flowing, people gathering to watch the dancers, and the lighting makes it so immersive. I was like "Damn I'd live here".
the most disillusioned part for me is the mavuika archon trailer. furina is part of drama queen, acting and musical drama is her second nature so she is doing some sort of drama skit with other characters are still canon to the main story. what about mavuika? which part in natlan archon quest related to mavuika doing music rock band?
@@akarifuyuki9763 i have to admit the song is good, im pretty sure it will be hyped if shown in hoyofair music show or something. it just needs the right place for the right content
i would say it is supposed to represent the teamwork between her and the heroes. Natlan has a strong theme of unity and fighting together where you would have to rely on each other, just like in a band. Instead of a literal representation, it was more of a metaphorical one.
Nah, if something is trash, people will say it's trash. What do you expect? Nobody would go up to a perfectly decorated cake, and call it trash. Ya'll are the reason your game feeds you shit. With that cuck mentality. "Ohhh my game couldn't possibly be this bad", "ohhh my 3d stick figure shouldn't be this hated", like seriously? If there was actually anything great about the genshit, people would be talking about it nonstop, because it almost never happens. So if most people with a functioning human brain thinks it's shit, don't you think that means the game is actually shit? Like, i'm telling spelling it out for you, words for words, what is happening here. If you still cant understand the basic concept of criticism, then stop being involved in conversation you don't understand. Nobody said you can't sit there and enjoyed being cucked over by a company, but don't come over expecting the same treatment.

WuWa players don't have enough capacity to think about something like that. They can't fathom the idea of playing what you enjoy instead of picking a side like it's a war or something.
the main difference is honestly that its extremely clear who is from what region in wuwa unlike in genshin they could be from anywhere most of the time
Fontaine was pretty good all things considered and is Genshin's peak storytelling yet. Then they dropped the ball with Clorinde's patch and when Natlan came out, they somehow kept dropping the ball constantly while it was still on the ground. Natlan had maybe 2 good moments and both of them lasted for like... 5 minutes, probably less. Had they just gone with the whole "Nation of War" thing then maybe Natlan would have been a shift in better storywriting and worldbuilding... but nope, what we got was bootleg pokemon, quests that feel half-baked and patches that feel drier that Sumeru's desert. On the other hand, WuWa 2.0 is amazing no matter how you look at it.
My biggest thing that stood out to me in all these comparisons between Natlan and Rinasita is that they are both countries very different from all the other nations in their worlds. But only one makes sense in a world building aspect and thats Rinasita. It is a huge part of the plot and the nations identity that Rinascita is a nation totally isolated and closed off until this moment and that informs the player as to why their echo technology is so advanced, we see how it is inegrated into their daily lives and we see why their land is far less war stricken than Huanglong. They have a totally different worldly experience than every other nation. Natlan on the other hand, has all this crazy tech like motorcycles and dj booths but nothing to inform us on how or why they have it, why the nation decided to use philgiston is that way, how such tech is implemented into their daily lives and why we never see it in any other part of the world. Natlan isnt a totally closed nation, people from outside can go in freely (and do since apparently Natlan has a booming tourism industry) so why have no fontaine inventors or sumeru researchers tried to replicate or learn about this advanced Natlanese Tech? It is a fundamental and devasting failure in basic world building and totally killed my immersion as someone who loved genshin for how they handled cross nation interactions in the past.
I was so hyped for Sumeru before because I was like: "Dang, the main city built around a huge tree would be so good, I can't wait how will they design it!" Then Sumeru city came it felt like they just slapped everything into that huge tree and got done with it. Sumeru people has an academy but I think they didn't study architecture there. xD
The countless details I witness in WuWa are actually made with more thoughts like effort than I imagined. Both storytelling and references to both in-game and real-world jokes comes to play here. For instance, there canonically exist a banana taped onto a wall.
even the side story about liel in tower is really interesting and it give some extra lore that maybe a clue for next story, there's so many extra lore and clue from side story and random npc that if you find it its makes the story more interesting,,,,
Its fine if you don't want to do side quest at least do the exploration quest to unlock new map and as for characters its fine as well because even lvl1 characters and lvl1 weapon you can still slay enemies or boss using counter😊

Same here, i ditch genshin so fast after llaying 2.0
If genshin writers wrote Raguuna, we wouldn't have met Zani and had her as a companion throughout first two acts. We would've gotten a non-descript, generic NPC that explains every square inch of Raguunas history and infrastructure for the first two acts and ONLY THEN would we have met Zani. Oh, and they would've made Abby interject every sentence saying how interesting everything that the generic NPC is saying is.
Wuwa writer writes genshin. Aether joins the tournament and win then saves Natlan. After the war of course there is victory dance but Mualani and Kachina joins the dance.
We would have had a better story if it was genshin. And more characters. Side note I'm not liking Zani at all and the short jester chick.

Jinzhou : "Ngl, we are in deep sh*t, but we'll survive no matter what."
Natlan : "Yeah, yeah...we are fighting the abyss...but hey, let me show you this new trick I can do on my super modern bike! Oh, and we have pokemon and tagged mountains too."
@@jacktheripper7935 goddamn it 😂
Even after 1.3, Tethys made me feel the destruction of Jinzhou with its visuals when we first saw Guaixu (the one town where infernal rider is, I forgot how to spell it)
Natlan felt like they wanted to go 3 seperate directions with it- they wanted to make the characters have their modern tech, the lore was trying to focus on the whole dragon thing, and the story was focused on the abyss and the whole power of friendship thing
If they had committed to any of these it could have worked
The real war was the art direction all along ig.
nah the gameplay sucks major ball hair too, the saurans are far too slow and limited to the red energy crap, proper traversal is locked behind limited 5 stars, and the 5 stars themselves have limited teams because of their reuqirements to be teamed up with each other, natlan sucks in every way.

wuwa is the embodiment of how the gacha dev's should try to be, and i'm also surprised on so many CC forgot the new QOL updates on maps exploration in 2.0 really helps the player to complete their exploration. like i manage to 100% the entire rinascita maps in under a week without interactive map only using what the game offers in game, while in genshin in 4 years i haven't even done mondstad map to 100% completion rate even with interactive map just because its so tedious to tab in and tab out of the interactive map, the QOL on wuwa is by far the best among other gacha in term of convenient alone
true true.. and the best part is.. its totally up the player.

@@Rozherhn gacha games want either your money or your time, if a gacha game refuses to give good QoL for exploration, reasonable time in events, skip button and etc, it means this game is trying to be predatory and exploit you by wasting more of your time or making you spend more money on it, its not because "they want you to act like a real adventurer"
Giving QoL and more options, is not treating players like little kids, its respecting your decision of how you want to spend your time, and wanting you to enjoy 100% of the time you spend in the game.
To be fair, genshin peaked in Inazuma. Wuwa will also hit its peak sooner or later.

Beautiful analogy
Fontaine was peak, but at the tip of a peak always goes down
Few days earlier, they put out a survey to ask for character suggestions and so I did according to my taste.

Don't forget they did the BoTW overlook opening when you were starting act 2 leaving the Raguna city just like when you left the beach to Mondstadt.
its indeed feel like different game now
I did not noticed it if he had talked about it, BUT as he said the City feels alive i want to add the Note:
Even while Day- and Nighttime they changed the behaviour of the NPCs for example while Nighttime there are some NPCs dancing in the corners of the Streets, while Daytime the dont do it. Its like Nighttime is Partytime. XD
The worst part is that you don’t need Wuwa to compare to Natlan, even compared to the previous five regions in Teyvat it’s a severe downgrade.
I thought that Fontaine was pretty good though, just my opinion of course.

I stand by my words that the last time genshin's team delivered a perfect immersive world was in Sumeru. It all went downhill from there.
Fontaine was its Peak after Summer but yeah indeed

Natlan was really designed to sell plushies and characters. There's no soul in this region.

The warframe reference for the construct was quite accurate tbh, I like it.

Bro, the area made me feel like I was in Elden Ring.
My brain froze for 5 minutes because of how cool it looked.
I've been out even since the opening of Wuwa 1.0, and never intend to return to Genshin.
However, towards the opening of Natlan, when they introduced and showed Capitano's form in the story, there was a little intention for me to return when his Banner appeared and I predicted that his Banner would be at the same time as Mavuika or after Mavuika. at that time also coincided with the news that Ororon would become *5 and Citlali *4
As the patch progresses, my guess is wrong, Ororon will become *4. then I thought like "Hey, Capitano is much cooler than this guy. I just need to wait and will log back when the banner is released"
until the closing patch of Natlan's AQ, they decided to kill Capitano, makes Mavuika Mary Sue, Citlali suddenly became *5 just for the sake of Fanservice, and in the future the characters will be filled with female characters in cheap gooner fanservice
and yep, I decided not to return to that worst game
I only just got back into the game, still in the tutorial basically, and I can't wait to get here!
What i wouldn't give to be called "my... star" again
Its the modern vibes for me. My immersion got ruined when I saw a roller skating dj. Then they added emo bat guy in the hoodie and jeans

People who don't like Genshin will look for a CC who also doesn't like Genshin. The only thing you can do is look at a channel that actively plays both Genshin and Wuwa and has no bias against either of them. You will surely find a better community there.

Love the video and the new update is INCREDIBLE. and the editing is genuinely awesome. Editor COOKED with this one 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I mean, I don’t mind some extra MB or GB on my storage if Kuro can deliver this
My friend asked why I stopped playing genshin
Me: "I ran out of mint so I went flying instead"
You picked up mint to touch the clouds.
Waiting for that one game from a certain IP to show what great worldbuilding actually looks like.
Genshin community always defending the motorcycle etc by giving a whole paragraph of lore and saying that people who are complaining is forgot and not reading it
It feels like you just being forced to accepting that there's a motorcycle when you see around a world with traditional lifestyle and dinosaurs
They forgot that to deliver a good story is to show and don't tell
Kuro understood the homework assignment with Rinascita.
also, bonus points to wuwa for sticking to one culture instead of grabbing cultures from completely different continents, mashing them together and whitewashing them
That point about the NPCs and the lore, yeah that definitely stuck out to me. There's some RPGs that do that kind of world building really well, and I was immediately thinking of that pretty much from when I first stepped into Raguuna. Honestly this patch is leagues above the beginning of the game, it has left me quite impressed.

This is such a great analysis of a worldbuilding in WuWa vs Genshin. Genshin's fantasy medieval setting inspired me to make my own fantasy medieval world, but WuWa truly taught me HOW to get it done.
(I don't wanna repeat how good Rinascita is,so I'll just discuss about Natlan)
Natlan felt so out of place, with all of them just centered around "fun and colorful" when every other character mentioned some horror wars happening there.
I know people are uninterested, but it's still in the works,so hopefully I'll get to publish it someday in a form of books or series, maybe even a game💙

funfact: every sunrise the kraken echo in the towers of ragunna blow their trumpets. the detail in wuwa and love put into it is phenomenal
Literally the best character in Natlan is not even came from Natlan. And somehow Hoyoverse decided to "kill" this character for the story.
Ngl one thing I personally LOVE about the characters in Rinacita is that they each carry their own importance in the story
This was a bit of a main issue I have with most story quests (coughcoughgenshicoughcough), they have so many characters that most of then either don't make a single appearance, don't play an important role or are just thrown in at the last second and this happens a bit in Huanlong where a few characters like Lingyang, Yuanwu and Taoqi appeared only around at the last second to continue the story and the only reason Lingyang had such an impact on the fandom was bvuz of his character story quest. Another thing Huanlong did is give us character that seem important only for them to immediately be tossed to the side (Scar and Camellya FIGHT ME ON CAMELLYA I DARE YOU)
Rinacita, actively balances their characters. Granted, we only have 5 confirmed playable characters but it still does a great job at balancing it. You would think at first that we wouldn't see Brant or Roccia again after they saved us and brought us to Rinacita but not only do they save us again but they also play a very important role in our mission to save Rinacita. Same with Phoebe, she may not have had a big role in the mission in the end but she still had an impactful role on the story and we also see how conflicted she is after she finds out about what the order is doing and I love that
Kuro, keep it up you're doing an amazing job, pls don't let greed get the best of you like with A CERTAIN GAME WITH G AND I AS ITS INITIALS🫶

The amount of people who are instead flying using the flight mechanic instead of the teleporting to a resonance beacon says A LOT in itself. Rinascita is the pinnacle of world building in gacha games and I will die on this hill.
Finally someone said it!!!
That wiki pages was such a call put
Also i really it that genshin doesn't do set up and pay offs that well. (Like fontaine underground area)
Like the world is amazing Ashkai does so many good theory videos but in the game the actual story quests never do any of those theories justice.
Liking it just once doesn’t seem enough to express how perfectly it captures the way we players feel about our experiences in Rinacita.
the power of friendship in Natlan's latest quest was so funny at the end of it I expected to find Vin Diesel's face behind Capitano's mask
Yea are you dumb the theme of natlan is unity
Ragunna look small on map, but tell you that place is freaking huge.
I try to find the hand NPC it took me 5minute to find it.
ragunna as a city feels natural, the citizens are hanging out somewhere and the alleys, buildings are a bit similar that you can get lost if you dont use mark feature on map
I really expect a lot for the GOD OF WAR , only to be fed up by an anime opening music video 😂😂
At least the song is good
@@akarifuyuki9763 i have to admit the song is good, im pretty sure it will be hyped if shown in hoyofair music show or something. it just needs the right place for the right content
@lqfr8813 First time I watched her trailer, I was so surprised I didn't know what to say.
i would say it is supposed to represent the teamwork between her and the heroes. Natlan has a strong theme of unity and fighting together where you would have to rely on each other, just like in a band. Instead of a literal representation, it was more of a metaphorical one.
Those parcour-flying videos. Lmao, nice job!
imagine just enjoying both games without being toxic or being an asshole about it....
Nah, wuwa players just cannot stop thinking about their ex-girlfriend (genshin) no matter what
Nah, if something is trash, people will say it's trash.
@@jexterdorgon wuwa players? please call it Former genshin vet aka former loyal hoyo white knight instead of wuwa players lmaoo all of this comment you see defending wuwa so hard are yours they are from hoyo who become rogue knights because they can't take anymore of hoyo bs. a real wuwa players came from pgr or wuwa first timers who doesn't give af and know how to shut their mouth. well actually if you get triggered by these former hoyoshill comments about defending wuwa so hard, well we already know what you are 😂
WuWa players don't have enough capacity to think about something like that. They can't fathom the idea of playing what you enjoy instead of picking a side like it's a war or something.
@@raiden8063 lol weak 🤣🤣🤣🤣
the main difference is honestly that its extremely clear who is from what region in wuwa unlike in genshin they could be from anywhere most of the time
Fontaine was pretty good all things considered and is Genshin's peak storytelling yet.
I was so hyped for Sumeru before because I was like: "Dang, the main city built around a huge tree would be so good, I can't wait how will they design it!"
Then Sumeru city came it felt like they just slapped everything into that huge tree and got done with it. Sumeru people has an academy but I think they didn't study architecture there. xD
The countless details I witness in WuWa are actually made with more thoughts like effort than I imagined. Both storytelling and references to both in-game and real-world jokes comes to play here. For instance, there canonically exist a banana taped onto a wall.
whoever disliked this video is the unfun uncle at thanksgiving
nice one glaive. yea they're great in world building and how they tell the story especially with 2.0.. an immersive experience
GUYS I Think we need to agree that my guy cooked on this one
WuWa's NPC Storekeepers looks like hidden leaks for future banners
0:44 is gold my friend.
even the side story about liel in tower is really interesting and it give some extra lore that maybe a clue for next story, there's so many extra lore and clue from side story and random npc that if you find it its makes the story more interesting,,,,
I dont have time to play all side quests or build characters....is it enough that I complete only the main quest of Wuwa and I will be good to go?
Its fine if you don't want to do side quest at least do the exploration quest to unlock new map and as for characters its fine as well because even lvl1 characters and lvl1 weapon you can still slay enemies or boss using counter😊
