They are great 💯 but Woosungs voice is just on a nother level, he has such control and flexibility it's kinda crazy. He has solo stuff too but together they complete each other and me! Lol😂❤

I think the rose is the most popular Korean band outside Korea as they sing in English. There are many many good korean bands who sing in Korean only and only Korean people listen but foreign people don't listen
The Seattle venue I'm seeing them in is 3x bigger than the one they played last time they were here. They're being recognized. Plus, they have new ARMY fans due to the collab with SUGA. Woosung does a fair bit of OST work, too, doesn't he? I keep hearing his voice pop up in dramas. More exposure slowly but surely!! 😀
The Rose's lead singer, Woosung, was raised in California, so yes, he sounds "normal" singing and speaking in English. What I love is that the voice "break" he has is organic versus manufactured. His voice is exactly as you hear it, and he has the ability to control those breaks versus them being random. Dojoon, the other prominent singer here, has improved his English by leaps and bounds, and you'd never know he wasn't fluent (he is now, but has a slight accent when speaking). I'm not sure this is the best song to analyze vocal ability/technique, and for that I'd recommend Sorry (their debut), Sour, and Beauty and the Beast. Woosung also did solo projects while the other members were doing their mandatory military, and I'd recommend Lazy (language at the very end!) and Face.
Woosung's voice just sounds so beautifully effortless when he sings and it's really great when you just hear him talking... like the husky tone I could listen to all day. Also, to be fair, Dojoon grew up in New Zealand so it's not like he had no foundation when speaking English and mostly had to refresh it when they started doing international promotions, at least compared to Hajoon or Jaehyeong.

It's a pronunciation thing, in that if you listen to the older songs, Dojoon's pronunciation is more accented. Not that that's bad, it's simply that in an all-English song, it begins to blur the line between US and Korean groups to a casual listener.

If I can I would recommend “She is in the rain” by them, it’s one of my favourite, and “Snooze” by Agust D (a member of BTS), it’s a collaboration with Woosung (one of the vocalist of The Rose) and Ryuichi Sakamoto (the famous Japanese composer), they are both very powerful and emotional songs, hope you are going to like them✨

I love this song! My other favorite is She’s In The Rain. They are so under rated. I actually found them because the lead singer of The Rose (Woosung) featured on BTS’s Suga’s solo song Snooze. I was like, who is THAT?! His voice was straight up haunting.

Kbands are the best! I saw The Rose live and they were so good. I’d recommend the band Onewe also. They are also amazing. Honestly any song of theirs is good.
Love that you got in to The Rose. They are a great Korean Indie Rock band and I love Woosung's hauntingly beautiful unique voice. He also has his own solo work as well. Dojoon, the other vocalist also has a beautiful clean voice that gives another dimension to their duet, making their sounds amazing together. Others have mentioned of course that Woosung (aka Sam) is Korean American born and raised in LA but I would like to underscore that there are MANY Asian Americans that leave the United States (and other western countries) to pursue music/acting etc because there is not a ton of opportunities or appreciation in the industry for Asian faces. Also there is much more investment in training and support in other countries (Korea in particular is known for this). That has its own pitfalls, of course. Just wanted to take this as a teachable moment for anyone unfamiliar with this context. Thanks for the reaction!
Ahh The Rose! I was lucky enough to see them in Atlanta last year, in a theater setting, so intimate and amazing. I highly recommend Red, Beauty and the Beast, and just so many more songs of theirs. Especially his song with Agust D /Suga, of BTS, SNOOZE

There's always this thing called "not fair" with musiciens when they hear a song/melody they like...it takes just a few seconds on keyboard/guitar and "got it !"
im not musically inclined, however i listen to three languages fluently, so i feel like I have some intuitive metric about what a well constructed song feels like, switching btwn languages. this feels like a well thought out and meticulously constructed song, in a good way. for every predictable element there's a subversion immediately and it makes ut 'intereaing' as you've been saying it. i truly appreciate that. it feels like they're following old school rock rules, where every concept was well thought out and has a production story behind it. it feels respectful. it's rare to feel this
Sorry is my fave by the Rose, though they have tons of great songs. I found them through the collab Woosung did with Suga of BTS called "Snooze". from a songwriter's perspective you might really enjoy that one (the late Ryuichi Sakamoto, one of Suga's idols, also collaborated on the track)
Woosung is American. The band actually just got back together a little over a year ago because everyone else went to the military. Since Woosung is American he didn't have to conscripted and did a lot of solo stuff while touring to keep the band's profile alive and allow more people to know The Rose as well. Hence why Woosung's English has no accent. I think a lot of their earlier stuff will show the band's vocal ability more widely. Like Sorry and She's In the Rain. I love their new sound though, it's more grittier

I love her voice and her personality.. I'd recommend "Maria" by Hwasa and the video Killing voices - Mamamoo (pieces of some songs, very good!)

Dojoon, the other vocalist also has a beautiful clean voice that gives another dimension to their duet, making their sounds amazing together. The Rose has a lot of great songs but She's in the Rain and Childhood are my favs. Look forward to more The Rose and BTS!

I went to The Rose concert this past Thursday and OMG!!!!! For someone who never heard of them aka me (went to company my little sister) they were AMAZING 🤩 their concert was a total vibe! It was AMAZING I seriously been listening to them I LOVE THEIR SONGS now! If you guys could ever go you should!!! YOU WOULD LOVE IT!!!!!!

I'm happy to say that I had the chance to see them live in Brazil (my country) last december and they're incredible live, such amazing artists! I recently discovered The Rose too, thanks to one of their singer’s collaboration with Agust D (Suga of BTS) in Snooze (It’s a beautiful song, I hope you react to it eventually) They’re so good!! I downloaded most of their songs & I’m looking forward to hearing more from them. I hope they offer an online viewing option for one of their upcoming concerts.

I love "She´s in the Rain" and "Alive". The first one is such a beutiful song and the 2nd reminds me of the 70´s and 80´s Brit pop rock that I grew with sol I love it.

Others have mentioned of course that Woosung (aka Sam) is Korean American born and raised in LA but I would like to underscore that there are MANY Asian Americans that leave the United States (and other western countries) to pursue music/acting etc because there is not a ton of opportunities or appreciation in the industry for Asian faces. Also there is much more investment in training and support in other countries (Korea in particular is known for this). That has its own pitfalls, of course. Just wanted to take this as a teachable moment for anyone unfamiliar with this context. Thanks for the reaction!

Ahh The Rose! I was lucky enough to see them in Atlanta last year, in a theater setting, so intimate and amazing. I highly recommend Red, Beauty and the Beast, and just so many more songs of theirs. Especially his song with Agust D /Suga, of BTS, SNOOZE

The Rose is great ❤ thank you for reacting! If I were to give some recommendations BTOB on Killing voice is a great one they are a self writing, self producing group that is known for their great vocals. On Killing voice you get a mix of their songs and nice listen to their vocal chops.

The lead singer, Woosung ( Sammy), is one of the great voices. He's on many lists. Suga ( from BTS) asked him to sing on his song "Snooze" and his voice evokes such emotion.

They just released their new album Dual - Alive, Lifeline, Wonder are just few of their new songs. Sorry is their first song they ever released-that awesome as well. All their songs are! They are currently touring in the US right now! I’m into two groups - BTS and The Rose - both groups put out great messages thru their songs!
There's always this thing called "not fair" with musiciens when they hear a song/melody they like...it takes just a few seconds on keyboard/guitar and "got it !"

im not musically inclined, however i listen to three languages fluently, so i feel like I have some intuitive metric about what a well constructed song feels like, switching btwn languages.
this feels like a well thought out and meticulously constructed song, in a good way.
for every predictable element there's a subversion immediately and it makes ut 'intereaing' as you've been saying it.
i truly appreciate that. it feels like they're following old school rock rules, where every concept was well thought out and has a production story behind it. it feels respectful. it's rare to feel this
Sorry is my fave by the Rose, though they have tons of great songs. I found them through the collab Woosung did with Suga of BTS called "Snooze". from a songwriter's perspective you might really enjoy that one (the late Ryuichi Sakamoto, one of Suga's idols, also collaborated on the track)
Woosung is American. The band actually just got back together a little over a year ago because everyone else went to the military. Since Woosung is American he didn't have to conscripted and did a lot of solo stuff while touring to keep the band's profile alive and allow more people to know The Rose as well. Hence why Woosung's English has no accent. I think a lot of their earlier stuff will show the band's vocal ability more widely. Like Sorry and She's In the Rain. I love their new sound though, it's more grittier

Woosung features in Suga of BTS's song Snooze. He wrote the hook/chorus himself. It is a must hear. Suga wrote it to support up and coming artists who work so hard
Woosung, the vocalist, sings the chorus on Agust D's Snooze... That was how I met the Rose... they are so good!
The only girl group I llike is Mamamoo, particularly, Hwasa... I love her voice and her personality.. I'd recommend "Maria" by Hwasa and the video Killing voices - Mamamoo (pieces of some songs, very good!)
