How to Hang your Quilt with 3 Hand Stitches
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 21 май 2014
- 3 stitches is all it will take to hang your quilt. The hanging sleeve is made with.3 squares of fabric stitched down with 3 stitches. This is a clean and beautiful way to hang your quilt.
Brilliant!!! I detest hand sewing. I use this method and love it. Thank you
❤ this method. Very clever!
Fabulous just what I wanted to hang my Dresden neighbourhood 😊
Great idea, very well presented.
Wow this is great!! Best hanging option I’ve seen yet! I am going to skip the double fold though, sew the half triangles inside out, stuff them right side out and then attach using your method, less fabric in the binding then and as long as the rod is short enough, it still won’t show out the sides of the quilt. Thanks!
This was fantastic. I have quilts to hang for an upcoming show, some quite large, and yours is the first hanging method that hasn't given me a headache to watch or achieve. Thank you so much!!
So much faster than hand stitching on a hanging sleeve. Thank you for this idea.
Great Idea!! Thanks so much for sharing!!
I have watched (and learned from) many of your youtube videos over the last few years and I see that this video is from 9 years ago and I am just now seeing it. I love this idea for hanging quilts! I have used other, somewhat similar options over the years, like corner triangles, with and without a smaller sleeve in the middle, a split sleeve, etc, but I have never even seen this option! I will definitely be using this technique! Thanks for sharing!
You are a life saver. I just finished quilting 12 wall hangings for a memorial event, and learned I’m expected to bind and sleeve each one as well. I was dreading the amount of hand stitching until I saw your video. I’m bowing and scraping at your feet. Thank you !!!
ANYTHING to help avoid hand stitching, awesome! Thank you!!
OMG!!!!!! Brilliant. Genius. Amazing. I can’t wait to do this!!!!!!
Genius! I love the versatility in this method. Thank you!
I have three quilts to finish before Christmas and your method of hanging quilts will save me soooooo much slow sewing along the bottom of the sleeves. No more sleeves ... just triangles! Yay! Thanks for sharing. You make my quilting life so much easier. Merry Christmas!
Thank you! I used this technique yesterday on a new wall hanging! I love it!
You give us the BEST tips!!
What a super easy way to do things. I love it! THANK YOU - AGAIN! and again and again and again....
I love watching your videos. I’m fairly new to quilting. I’ll celebrate my 2nd year this next week! Finding you has really helped me grow as a quilter. You make quilting sew very easy! With your techniques and tips. I can’t wait to try this one with the sleeves. I always forget about adding sleeves til after I’m completely finished but I will add this tip to my wall of “don’t forgets”. I’m a visual learner. Thank you for making these videos!
LOVE this way of hanging a quilt. Thanks for showing! By the way, the shorter hair just looks gorgeous on you!
This video is nine years old
Really good idea, thank you.
I have followed numerous techniques for quilting, but this is the first time I have seen this method of hanging a quilt. Will use it on the one am currently getting ready to bind. You rock.
Liz Nickel Thanks Liz, I found this out one day trying to use up left over squares, that was a great day:) glad you like it too:)
Thank u so much for the idea of using a decorative rod to hang a quilt. Made a quilt for my first and only granddaughter but then her mother decided she wanted to hang it. A pretty, feminine rod will be beautiful!
Am doing a quilt to hang in my granddaughters room. This is a great way. Thank you.
Awesome idea to use. For me, sleeves could be sewn before the binding, ready to hang just in case I want to hang it later. If it's part of completing the quilt, more likely to hang it because I won't have to bother with putting a sleeve on, it's all ready. Must remember to do it before binding! Than will be my challenge..lol
Thank you, great ideas! Love that black n white quilt!
Love your haircut
Great way to hang a quilt. Will certainly try it.
This works great! I just hung a 65” wide quilt using this technique. Thank you sew much for posting this video! This is much faster than making a traditional quilt sleeve!
Thank you for sharing you lovely idea. I could see a button sewn on the triangle point also.
Would look cute I think.
Thank you for the great instructions on hanging a quilt.
I was just thinking that there has to be a better way to add a hanging pocket than using a tube of fabric and having to hand stitch down the bottom edge - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this! Thank you!
+cosmie01 Thanks and it looks nice on the back too:) thanks for watching
I love this - it is a slick way to let you hang a quilt on a rod with two different "looks".
+Vickie Hill Thanks and thank for watching
Thank You! I've never made quilt sleeves before and I have a couple of Christmas quilts that need sleeves. Your method is much easier than others I've seen
Love the idea of changing the quilts for different seasons; be they weather or times of your life - because you can!
+newbeequilter Thanks:)
I knew you would have the perfect solution!!!!
Thank you as always
So very Clever. I haven't seen this before. I'm definitely going to use this method.
Wow, I really like all the options for hanging...and a way to use leftover fabric from the piece you were working on. I am going to do a tshirt quilt for my niece, and I want to give her the option to hang it in her room!
Incredible! Best video on hanging a quilt. Thank you for making it so much easier for me to do!
Thanks and thank you for taking the time to watch:)
Thank you so much for sharing this. I was making it a lot more stressful in my head on how I was going to hang it especially since I am not great at sewing but I try 😂
I have tried to come ip with an easy way to hang up my quilts but your way is so much easier.!
Glad you like it:)
Awesome tutorial , thank you so much. LOVE your Hair, very beautiful style for you.
Your techniques and quilts are always amazing and fun, but this one is so incredibly PERFECT! I love, love, love how it looks, the dual functionality, and the one stitch tack down. It is truly a god send for what I need right now for this specific quilt and I will use it for all future quilts. Thank you!
I was wondering what I'll eventually do when I have more quilts than I need. A nice splash of colour here there and everywhere! Thank you Laura.
eileenfb1948 TOO Many quilts,,, Is That a Thing?
Wow, this is sew easy! I love it! Can't wait to try it! Thanks for the video!
+sewuniquelady Your welcome and thanks for watching
This is brilliant! Thank you for sharing.
You are awesome. What a classy way to hang a quilt!
I added the binding with my longarm and then added the hanging sleeve and finished binding, which worked great! This is a nifty hanging sleeve!
+Connie Jurgs wow thanks and thanks for watching
🥰🥰🥰🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 Thank you Laura!
Absolutely great! Thanks so much for sharing two beautiful and super simple ways for hanging quilts! :-)
+Marta A. Masotti Thanks and thanks for watching:)
Thank you very much! This is just what I was looking for! 😊
Brilliant!
Oh man - this is perfect !!
Love this method, thank you.
I love this idea !!!!
You are BRILLIANT!!!!!
Thank you! I’m doing this! 🌸
How do you get the second end of the dowle (not an expandable rod) in to the second teepee fold when it is longer than than the angle of the triangle allows? I’m thinking smaller triangles will minimize this problem? I love the versatility of this design and also that I have “stowed away” some scraps for future use right there on the quilt! Ingenious!
love this technique!! Thank you :-)
Hi Laura and thanks a lot for another great tutorial! 😎🌸
Brilliant
Sew clever! Thanks for sharing another great idea!
This was so informative, thank you. I enjoy you videos so much.
Thank you "sew" much! I'm glad you enjoy them. Have a great day
Video very helpful and quilt gorgeous
This is genius!! 😮
This is great. So glad I saw your video.
+Joyce Hill thanks and thanks for watching
Great tutorial as usual 🤗
thanks
Thank you, this was exactly what I was looking for!
Great idea!! I'm going to try this instead of the way I was doing my hanging sleeves.
Very clever - thank you!
Love it but my guilds requires a a full width sleeve for hanging in our shows.
What great ideas! Thank you so much!
+Barb McHenry thanks for watching
This is brilliant ! Thanks a million.
any time:)
Sew very smart.
Yay! Thank you, I'm going to give this a try!
+Allison C Bayer great! let me know how you like it:)
Wonderful idea! Can this be used for quilt shows or do I have to use the tube style for quilt shows(to be judged?) Thanks in advance!
HELLO, Should I also only use the three squares on a king size quilt?
Thank you Laura, I am loving your videos. What size triangles would you recommend 22"x18" quilt to hang on front door? Thank you!
Do you have any suggestions for hanging small wall quilts that have a curved top?
What is the pattern of this quilt? It’s beautiful!
Great thankyou
How do you attach the flat rod to the wall and where do you purchase it?
I struggle with hanging sleeves because i can not hand sew due to having surgery on my hands. So this method would suit me really well. just one question - Is this an acceptable method for a competition quilt?
I would have to say no for the competition quilts. Not that it won't work but this is my personal way of hanging quilts. You could always send them a link to the video and ask if it would be acceptable. And if you do I would love to know what they think.
@@SewVeryEasy hi Laura i have been on contact with a friend and ex judge regarding your method this is her reply. NOTE THIS IS FOR THE UK-
" I haven't seen that method of quilt hanging before but it looks simple and effective. As far as I know there is no instruction as to what method you use to hang your quilt. All you need to do is make sure it hangs in the best way to show off your quilt. At shows they like at least 4 inches depth to make sure the rods will go through."
Thanks for letting me know the reply. So I guess the choice would be up to you
Great video! Just wondering where you got the adjustable hanging rod (not the curtain rod)?
it was at my hardware store
@@SewVeryEasy Canada or USA? Which hardware store?
@@brendapeplinskie7982 it was in Canada and it was Canadian Tire
@@SewVeryEasy ok perfect .... thank you very much!
Love the quilt where can I get the patten? Thank you for your videos.
+Altia Seed I will be doing a video soon, but it is called a Melon Block. Thanks for watching
Worked out great for the quilt I pieced, quilted, and couched yarn. Thank you for sharing. I placed at top and bottom, thought about placing on the sides since isn't a directional wall hanging, maybe for next quilt. Love your videos. thanks for the link, the quilt is amazing:)
Hi...Can please you do an actual sewing video "tutorial" on this application? It would be so more helpful to see the actual steps to follow. Thanks!
+Diane C. Thanks for asking I will see what I can do:)
Hi..Thanks! Please message me when (if) you do one...please. :)
+Diane C. :)
Why didn’t you show the finished product on a wall so we could see how this technique actually works. Geez
Just 3 stitches... and a seam.
+Kat V. (VirtKitty) lol yes you are correct and a seam:)
Wow, this is sew easy! I love it! Can't wait to try it! Thanks for the video!
+sewuniquelady "sew"much:-)
