Amen, Bill! A House divided cannot stand. And to proclaim that Jesus rebuking storms, healing every disease and every sickness (Mt. 4:23, 9:35) and dispatching us (His disciples) to do the same (Mt 10:7,8, Mk 16:15-20, Mt.28:19,20) would absolutely VIOLATE His Father. Thanks for sharing this, MTM

For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."

It doesn't mean that God can't take control. It means that God doesn't do what He wants when He wants to. The reason why pharaoh was raised up was because Israel was praying to be free in Exodus 2, "During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them."

@MissedTheMark If God doesn't do what He wants when He wants to, would mean God isn't sovereign over all things. If God isn't sovereign then he isn't God.

Even though God is behind creation, that doesn't mean that God is behind everything that happens within creation.
Since God has given us free will, we are capable of being creators in our own right; including creating suffering for ourselves and others.
This particular misunderstanding, that God is causing our suffering and perhaps punishing us, is one of the most dangerous misunderstanding promoted by religious teachers; for how can we become free from suffering if we don't understand what's causing it?
As long as we believe that lie, we will blame God or others, or our circumstances for our suffering and not see that we are responsible for our suffering.
Our mistaken thinking, and the negative emotions and negative actions that flow from our thoughts causes our suffering.
Depending on what we choose to believe, and how we choose to respond to life; we create more Love in the world or the opposite.
When we choose to express the opposite of Love or cause harm, it is not God that is at fault.
God gifted us with the freedom to choose and to create, and we eventually learn from our choices to be better creators; to create happiness instead of suffering, and it is suffering that teaches us this; suffering points us away from what is anti-life, anti-Love.
Our own personal suffering is the so-called "punishment" we receive when we make choices that are not aligned with Love; that is the only "punishment" meted out by God.
We are designed to suffer whenever we miss the mark, which is the meaning of sin. The mark, the target or goal, is Love; we suffer whenever we fall out of alignment with Love.
Suffering and joy are part of the guidance system we've been given; the homing device, which when followed, will bring us back home to Love.
Suffering tells us that we are believing a lie or taking a wrong direction; while joy tells us the opposite.
If we don't want to suffer, then we must stop believing or doing what causes us and others suffering; and start believing and doing what brings peace, Love and joy.

I'm assuming all the people who think this is heresy forgot about Genesis 1:26, and Matthew 28:18-19 where Jesus took back about our dominion that was lost in original sin and delegated authority to us.

It is called His PERMISSIVE WILL...meaning that He PERMITS (like Hitler) things to fulfill His PERFECT will. Romans 8 teaches this best...but look at Job as well...it was the Will of God that Job suffer what he did so that the Almighty would be glorified. EVERYTHING God does is to bring glory to Himself.

    • @MissedTheMark
      @MissedTheMark  5 лет назад +5

Got a lot to learn... The "Permissive Will" idea was the back-up argument to make it sound rational, even though it wasn't. Job is the perfect example of people who completely misunderstood who God was. All God did was act as a judge. He wasn't granting permission to Satan to torment Job. He was stating the legalities of what Satan was capable of. A judge only interprets laws. Satan had the authority of the earth. We know that because he told Jesus in the desert. Then Jesus got it back after the cross. "All authority has been handed over to me."

    • @SaltySaints
      @SaltySaints 5 лет назад +1

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The Word of God makes His will very clearly known through His Son, Jesus.
Jesus was an exact replication of the Father.
Seeing His "will" walking, talking, teaching, healing, delivering, loving, discerning through the Gospels paint an accurate Portrait of the Father.

Yes God will work all things for our good, but obviously not for our best life now but for eternity spent with Him in the world to come, otherwise Jesus failed miserably in this life (by man's version of goodness) by being mocked, tortured and killed as well as all the apostles (the real ones in scripture). The truth is Jesus dying a horrible death on the cross (by submitting the will of His Father and fulfilling scripture), God worked out Jesus sacrifice for our greatest ever good - to be reconciled to Him who believe. But the price of sin was the heaviest ever paid by the perfect Son of God and Son of man.

    Here's what the Scriptures say:
"Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible' (Matthew 19:26)
"The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." (Proverbs 16:9)
"In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory" (Ephesians 1:11-12).
"The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters" (Psalm 24:1-2).
"Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all" (1 Chronicles 29:11-12).
“'I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted'" (Job 42:2).
"The LORD does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths" (Psalm 135:6).
"The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord." (Proverbs 16:33).

No It's because how you were taught. Reformed theology, which is what you believe is a doctrine of demons. If God was in total control spoken of by you Calvinists, makes God look weak, stupid and foolish. If God was in total control the world would never look this bad.

So if God is in control of this world, why there are wars, poverty, disasters, murder, diseases, cancer, and all kinds of bad things?? If an all powerful and loving God was really in control, why there is so much suffering and pains, huh? Does GOD want humans to suffer from diseases, cancer, natural disasters, and die painfully? Is God really all powerful and is in control, how can't he make this world a perfect world that has no suffering.

    • @kylebailey4574

It helps me when considering this to look at the whole picture. God DID actually create a pain free world, We broke it. The question then becomes this: is God just to allow the natural consequences of sin and a broken world to carry out to their logical conclusions?

Creator God gave dominion of the earth to His man, Adam.
Adam, by transgressing AGAINST the LORD God, conveyed the "title" to the earth to Satan, whom Jesus Saw "cast down as lightning from Heaven (Luke 10). It was Adam's ONE ACT OF DISOBEDIENCE that separated the human race from relationship with God. Jesus, born of a Virgin, came and lived as a human.. as a MAN... and was perfectly obedient to His Father, even unto the death on the Cross.
When Jesus was born, He grew up just like you and me. He grew in favor with man, in wisdom, and also in favor with God.
When He took a terrible beating...LASHING, on the way to the Cross, it was for man's healing. Some believe and receive their healing inside their Covenant relationship with Him by faith in His provision. Some doubt, or even disbelieve, and His Beautiful "provision" never benefits them.
Jesus'death, burial and Resurrection is the Good News to all who Believe. It's a stumbling block to those who do not.
Nevertheless, the Father has sent the Holy Spirit to earth to reveal Jesus to man, and to empower His followers to do the works that He did, AND to have His Own power to witness for Jesus.
That marvelous Resource-- the Holy Spirit-- is available to EVERY Believer. Those who receive and welcome Him into relationship do, in fact, continue doing the very works that Jesus said we will do (John 14:12, Mk 16:15-20) because HE IS WITH US.
God's WILL is that every person would repent-- turn from being master of their own, selfish life, and allow Him to lord over us with Love and Power and a Sound mind.
In this Life...that is, this realm of living on the earth with great JOY and HOPE and PURPOSE is only found, truly experienced, by coming into relationship with Creator God by faith in Jesus, the Lord's Christ.
In this Relationship, He opens our understanding to the Scriptures in such a manner that, regardless who disputes His Word or tries to persuade you into confusion or doubt, you and I can REST fully assured that His Word is TRUE. Why? Because we KNOW the Author.

@@stevetucker5851 Not surprising in the typical Calvinist fashion, you completely disregarded the context of your own proof text.
God gave the Israelites casting of lots to determine his will when they didn't know what to do. It was a means that God gave them specifically. Where does Jesus tell you to flip a coin to determine God's will?
So you are putting your trust in a verse taken out of context while there's literally a thousand commands by God to choose to do what he would will for us and not do the other thing or we will face the consequences. The doctrines of demons which you choose to believe instead of what the Bible actually says is based on plutonic philosophy and political manipulation and was conceived homosexual pedophiles, i.e. Calvinist "reformers" who murdered their political and theological opponents--they were not even Christians let alone good people.

@@CC-2020 God chose not to be in total control so humanity could have free will. It's not free will if God is controlling everything. God doesn't want to control everything because He's not a control freak like every human is. He wants people to make choices free of manipulation and control. It says in 1st Peter that its not God's will that any perish but that all come to repentance. We know people are perishing and we know it's not God's will. Therefore we know God's will does not always get accomplished.

I earned my judgement and am my own worse critic, I would give myself a thumbs down along with most of humanity. The opulence, the decadence, greed and pride in a system based on economic slavery with our poor, injured and ill discarded or shamed. Shame is the only feeling we should feel because we have failed our own children and forgotten who we are.

    • @MissedTheMark
      @MissedTheMark  2 года назад +1

I hear what you're saying, but the problem with staying in shame is that it doesn't move you forward. It just makes a person stay where they're at. Shane makes it to where a person does nothing and we don't want that. This is why God doesn't bring shame on people because he knows it doesn't cause production. When people feel encouraged then they get out of their pit and choose to do something.

    • @ElijahPerrin80

@@MissedTheMark Absolutely, society could use to learn from god and be more godlike, I am one of the lucky injured people living off society experiencing the rare life no one wants or wants to face being shamed and expected to live on nothing. Holiday or vacation, convenient and free are words I see often from even the ones I loved. People live in a life of choices and mold life to what they want, it is hard to imagine a life where choice is removed and struggle takes all energy. We all play the cards we are delt.
