However, they never broadcast this anarchic debut featuring live music, lively discussion between actors, writers, and musicians, pizza, and a fair few drinks...
Featuring in this episode: Johnny Depp, Traci Lords, Joe Gores, Chris Penn, Sy Richardson, Del Zamora, and music from Los Lobos, Jimmy Weatherspoon, and Homewreckers.

How wonderful to be able to see that. This wild bunch of different individuals, so personal and close, like a cheerful group in the pub next door...that's a wonderful format for a show. This idea should be taken up again and continued...especially in this day and age when everything has become so artificial and has to be perfect. This familiar, spontaneous atmosphere without pressure or script makes it all the better. I love it!
Always frustrated me how people never fully listened to what Shane was saying or interrupted him. He always noticed but let it go. His thoughts were clear but his speech was slow.
Yess and I feel that’s what made him turn to substances to cope with that, but ended up a vicious circle with him.
Wow, I got here after falling into a Shane MacGowan RUclips hole. Next thing I know I'm watching Shane shooting the shit with Chris Penn (RIP), Johnny Depp, Tracy Lords, and assorted others. Then I get to see Los Lobos playing one of their greatest songs. Crazy the way this shit happens. Thanks for posting this. Peace.

My neighbour is a great friend of Sean as far as I know they went to school together back in the day after the pups they would have sessions in the house. Sean’s home is just out the road a few miles from Nenagh co Tipperary. Was a familiar Figure around town he had 2 pups that were his favourites philly Ryan’s and Rohan’s great pups for the sessions and craic My youngest son and his friends met him one evening when they were going to the shop and of course the were waving at him he got out and asked them to tell him a joke well my son was not shy and told him a joke he laughed and gave them all money for sweets they were young then but never forgot it he was talking to them for a good while and had them in stitches laughing. His a legend love him. Don’t hear or see him around much anymore. I seen him in mass one Sunday with his mother before she died.
Wow iv loved Shene since I heard him first. I was in an Industrial school in Ferryhouse Saint joseph's school for boys across the road from the Cider factory. On the Banks of The river sure. Every Christmas The christian brothers would give us something when we heading home for Christmas. We'll I got the Pogues Cassette tape Rum Sodomy and the lash. Since he passed away his music has Transported me back to 1986 sitting in my room listening to Shane MacGowan. I'm a Liberty's boy from Dublin South inner-city. I would have loved to have met Shane. Since clonmel is not far from were Shane grew up you're story Really Brought me back to them days when I first Heard Shane and the Pogues. Thanks for sharing that lovely little story. I love people shearing there stories about about The legendary Shane Mcgowan. ❤👍💯

I met him in jfk Airport. Sitting at the bar..asked him can I buy u a drink...sure said he..he asked the bar maid to get a pint glass, he pointed to the bottles,shot of that ,a shot of that a shot of that,four or five different liquors,,all mixed together with a diet coke,, I think he drank it, cost me $27, a lot back in 1988..

I will never forget drinking with Danny and some of the pope's and going with my bro on the guest list. We had a fab night, after party . I really feel sad this week and my deepest sympathy is with his lovely wife Victoria and his family, mates. What a kind, beautiful soul Shane was and he will no doubt be laughing and joking in heaven.

I adore Shane MacGowan as a writer and musician. But I understand why this was never continued. Though after watching this, I think an opportunity was missed in not giving Joe Gores his own talk show. He kept the conversation going and got people talking about really interesting subject matter.
What a weird amazing collection of people.
It may have only been a cult success but I would have loved to see what this became.

Lads, he was born early/accidentally on Christmas when his parents were visiting relatives in England. His childhood was spent in Tipperary. Late childhood/teenage years in England after they emigrated.
His family background is one hundred percent Irish, even if his formative teenage socialisation years were in England.
England was part of what made him, the London Irish, the Irish immigrant experience, but it's being disingenuous or at the least misinformed to keep trying to claim a man who only ever claimed to be Irish, as English.
Shane was sharp as a knife and witty as anyone you could meet. R.I.P

I feel like this was created for a reason, the reason being if you give a person enough rope they will eventually hang themselves. The uk way to judge a character is to get someone going and watch them go. So much was exposed in this video that the Americans seemed so desensitised or even eager about and by the end of the conversation Shane was checked out. He doesn’t want to be sat there he doesn’t operate on the same frequency as these people.

I got Tracy Lord’s glossy 8x10 and she signed it during a promo event at Tower Records in Boston MA in mid 1990’s. She had put out an album. Nice lady. I liked her large feet. That’s what I remember after 26 years. And for some twist of fate, that same signed 8x10 photo is 6’ away from me now on a table.
