I love it when you're the target audience of a particular credit card. This Gold Card refresh works, and I don't need to do anything new. It got cheaper for me but yet the AF move up to $325. What about you? Be sure to click the join button to become a member at just 99 cents a month to receive tailored and first take content. I did give you a sneak peek that I'm already working on acquiring both Delta Reserve cards. By the time I release videos, I would have already been using the cards to ensure that they are as good as I say they are.
I haven't purchased a Resy gift card before using my Delta cards and definitely not with the Gold Card. However, further research implies that purchase Resy Gift Card with the Gold card MAY NOT QUALIFY for the credit. Here's the language: "For example, the transaction may not be eligible if it is for a non-dining purchase (e.g. merchandise or gift card)." I'm going to try purchasing a Resy Gift Card to see if it works and report back to my channel members.
At the old $250 fee, my effective annual fee was $10 because it was just the credits that I was using and no hotel collection. Now still with no hotel collection credit, the GrubHub and Uber eats credits, and the Dunkin credits, my effective annual fee is only a dollar a year. The rest will come out of my grocery and dining. Only reason I would cancel the card would be coupon fatigue once again. Unless I get a good Retention offer.
Man It’s so refreshing to see someone really enjoy this card. Keep doing your thing. Please drop a vid for the 2 delta reserve 2 delta platinum set up. I’m definitely considering for delta gold status and 4 companion certs. The math is showing a lot of value
As soon as I have them both and have used them to sort out any quirks, I'll definitely drop a video. I plan well in advanced and was planning to show the 4-card strategy at the end of the year but I was too enthusiastic and showed that I already have 1 of the reserves to go with the 2 platinum's :) I'm seeking Delta status because it's going to be my primary airline for 2025 international trips.
My sense is that the threat of or plain cancellation videos get more clicks. I love the card, and I will not be giving it up because it's too major a card to not own if you're a credit card content creator. Be sure to subscribe to the channel.
I love your perspective on credit cards…especially the AMEX suite of cards. I spend a lot on dining and grocery and this card fits into my life perfectly. Like you said, I don’t have to modify or change any of my spending behaviors to make use of this card…now or even before. Amex welcomes customers like us! ❤
I didn't change my behavior before either, it just cost me more 😊. But now they were thinking of me when they released the new benefits. The Dunkins credit is so specific and limited to so few. So if I'm being objective, it's a junk credit which allows amex to say that they offer many credits. It just happens to work for me but I need to call them out on it. Did you opt to get the new white gold version?
@@yuzzi8861 I did a burger last month, planning a hot dog this weekend but will have to add the grill cheese w/ patty next month. You better be right or else 🤣
Me too regarding Dunkins. That was gone right away. I'll definitely hit up Resy soon but I need to see which of the restaurants I go to are part of Resy.
I have FOUR (4) AMEX Personal Gold Cards ($10 of each) for Cheesecake Factory Giftcard monthly. I use UberEat ($10 x 4 cards) monthly with ease. I use ($7 x 4 cards) monthly reloading the Dunkin’s GC with ease. I do need to figure out the best deal for the Resy ($50 x 2) x 4 cards annual credits! All my AF will be renewed in 2025. I might not keep all 4 by then!
Dunkin credit and Five guy credit are better, but I still don’t necessarily like being told where to spend my money. The card didn’t get cheaper though, you pay Amex more and still earn x4, those are facts. I really would have loved to see the dining go to x5 especially since they capped it.
I only spend on cards when it works for me which is why I was only taking advantage of a few Uber trips per year on the gold card. However, without doing anything special, Resy, Dunkins and Five Guys will be automatic credits. Though I will be out of the country for 4 months next year, the card will cost me south of $69. I stand by my statement that the card is cheaper for me to own. I'll never quarrel with that. Of course 5X on dining would be elite but again, I'm good with the 4X.
those who hate the Five Guys credits are the Shake Shack fan boys from the West.... I am always a Five Guys fanboy... love the peanuts, overflowing fries (chips as my Brit friends say) & slightly higher price... but I dont mind 😂
I don't have a Five Guys or Dunkin' Donuts near me. Also RESY doesn't have many choices in Honolulu. I still might be keeping the Gold if I get a retention offer.
hmmm, sounds like they made it tougher for you. I have 5 Resy restaurants within walking distance. Dunkins is even closer. Five Guys is on my way to my 2 frequented supermarkets, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. So, when I say that this card was remade for me, I'm not kidding.
@@kaina732 Bummer!! Continue to rationalize the card's 4X multiplier to ensure that you're still coming out ahead. Really, no Resy restaurants? Time to move 😊
