C1 bait and switch. I am an AU for my wife's VX. While on the C1 website it said I was pre-approved for the SavorOne with $200 for spending $500, so I applied. C1 said I was approved! When I received the card it didn't mention the SUB. I called C1 and they confirmed I would not get a SUB. I immediately cancelled the SavorOne. Bait and switch is dishonest and unprofessional.

If you travel a lot and the venture x pays for itself, why would you consider the venture one over the x when the x gets 2x points on everything?

2:45 - I had excellent credit (by Capital One's definition) and still got denied for the SavorOne due to too many hard inquiries over the last 24 months. Getting 5 credit cards in 8 months (Chase Freedom Flex/Freedom Unlimited/Sapphire Reserve, IHG Premier, Capital One Venture X) shot my chances of approval. 4:00 - The Venture One could be useful just for transfer partners, especially if you have another 2x earning card with transfer partners (i.e. Citi Double Cash, Wells Fargo Active Cash). I still love the Venture X, since you also get the $300 travel credit and 10k anniversary miles (along with Priority Pass and Capital One lounges), which easily erases the $395 annual fee. 6:20 - I love that the Bilt Mastercard allows me to pay my HOA fees on my condo every month, especially since I pay nearly $400/month for HOA fees! The 5x for 5 days was helpful, as I paid my semi-annual property tax statement (over $1,500) during that time. Bilt also gave me 5x on dining, gas, and grocery in August 2024, which was nice as well! (I do have the Chase Freedom Flex with the 5x gas/grocery + $200 SUB through February 2025, so I have that as an option as well. I don't think that I am going to get the higher statuses on the Bilt Mastercard, as I plan on putting more of my spend on credit cards with welcome offers in the next few months. 12:00 - Wells Fargo has a no-annual fee trifecta with transfer partners. The Autograph has numerous 3x categories (restaurants/travel/gas/transit/streaming/phone plans), the Active Cash is a standard 2x catch-all card, and the Attune has numerous 4x categories (gym memberships, salons and spas/select sports, recreation, and entertainment/public transit, electric vehicle charging, and select thrift stores). If Wells Fargo had more transfer partners, I would definitely put that no-fee setup over Bilt/Capital One. P.S. Now that I am above 5/24 on Chase and have my Chase setup complete (even product changing the CFU to a Chase Freedom [Visa]), I am looking into venturing into venturing into other issuers (i.e. Amex/Citi/Wells Fargo). Since the Amex credits on their charge cards really don't fit my lifestyle and Wells Fargo doesn't have too many transfer partners, I am looking into Citi as my next issuer, getting the Citi Custom Cash and Citi Strata Premier. The Custom Cash would be especially useful for my entertainment spend, as I don't have a dedicated card for that and I was rejected for the SavorOne. I have a few questions: 1. Is the pricing for hotels on the Citi Strata Premier travel portal similar to official hotel pricing? If not, do they do price matching? 2. Would 2 months be an adequate spacing for getting the Citi Custom Cash & Citi Strata Premier? I would probably get the Custom Cash first, as most of my major spend to hit the $4,000 MSR would be in the late fall/early winter, especially with property taxes being mailed out in January 2025. Thanks sooo much for talking about this setup for the following reasons: 1. I think everyone is on the Chase bandwagon because of Hyatt hotels. Personally, i stay in Airbnb properties. So that setup doesn't apply to me. At best, I would get the United Gateway card. 2. You're one of the few channels that speaks about the VentureOne in a good light. I was just approved for it a few days ago and ready to use it!! 3. You also made me think about the Bilt card in another light. While most of the perks don't apply to my situation, i could still use it for dining and paid travel. I didn't know you could link this card to the SavorOne and the VentureOne. This is good since i have both now. 4. How well did your cards work overseas? Im curious because I had creditone abroad and that was the worst experience I've ever had!!! I was in Paraguay and one card would work with them and the one that had "no foreign transaction fees" didn't work.

Great video! Can you explain to me the part of having 2 free Citi CC and the having to have a Citi premier to convert those awards into points?. I have a custom cash card, if I would like to use those points for travel, would I need to a have a Citi premier?

Good video but I would say put a small subscription on the venture one and put it on auto pay and sock drawer it and use the quick silver for a catch all 1.5 is definitely better the 1.25

I'm 7 months in this month and my credit is at 680. I watched your CityBank 5 series and am watching this one. I don't know which one to start with, CityBank or CapitalOne. Assuming you are choosing between CVS and Walgreens, a better strategy would be to add your CF card to your Rakuten wallet and use the 5% (or 5x MR) in-person benefit available at CVS thru Rakuten

For me I'm planning to go to my first resy restaurant tomorrow. Five guys is a once a month thing for me anyways and dunkin is 3 to 4 times a month so these credits are 100% locked. So I'll always make back my 325 and then some. For me my spend is pretty heavy on the gold card and I convert the points to my Hilton to double them and then use it as an amazon credit. Last year that came out to well over 100 bucks. I never use uber but this card still makes more sense for me now than before.

Get 3 and try it for a year and share on the channel. I'm here for it!

For any active duty service members, it's basically free credits. There was a guy on reddit that somehow PC'd to 3 Chase Sapphire Reserves just to use $900 worth of credit for travel.

Got player 2 with Platinum. Have platinum and gold. Was thinking about running 2 gold by downgrading one platinum and cancelling 1 when annual fee hits, but considering this now!

I like the new refresh but don't like paying $325 for a card when I could get a similar card for no-AF or a $95 AF. I like the Gold Card for the SUB. I doubt you'll get subs on all three cards.

I really appreciate that you broke it down by addressing the "reality" of the situation. I find that many Credit Card RUclipsrs often focus on the best-case scenarios and tend to glamorize the card, making it seem like a perfect choice. However, being realistic about the card's features and potential drawbacks is equally valuable, with the best-case scenario simply being the icing on the cake!
