Graham Norton aka Father Noel Furlong | Father Ted S2 E1 | Dead Parrot

- Опубликовано: 29 янв 2017
- Ted struggles to remember why the day, 19 July, feels important to him. Graham Norton makes his first appearance as Father Noel Furlong.
Beloved sitcom focused on three priests living on Craggy Island, a remote island off the west coast of Ireland. Father Ted Crilly is sent to the island as punishment for using charitable funds for a holiday in Las Vegas, but his true punishment comes in the form of Father Dougal Maguire and Jack Hackett, one a fresh-faced naive young priest, and the other a foul-mouthed, rage-filled alcoholic. Mrs Doyle is their nosy housekeeper, who makes plentiful pots of tea and never takes `no' for an answer. Despite their isolation, the priests get into their fair share of mildly sinful, entirely madcap adventures.

11:35 _“...these are small... but the ones out there are _*_far away...”_* One of my favorite lines !!!
yeahh no i still dont get the difference....
'Small.. far away' they used the name for a documentary on Father Ted.
Only Dougle would wonder about such things. Imagine him looking out an airplane window. Ted saying/pointing: Ants....people. Ants. People. Ants
Mine as well.
And apparently, it just came to the writers when they shot the episode on location.
It was not in the script.
☮
- We’re here, father!
- Feck off.
lol gotta love father Jack 🤣
That cocaine joke at 02:56 is so absurd, and the delivery is amazing.
I know. She is SUCH a great comedic actor!
Pauline is a treasure.
I love her so much. I wish I had a miss Doyle.
This is my first watching this, and I'm blown away by her timing and delivery. Everybody here is ridiculously talented.
Is there a joke I don't get?
"That's nearly as mad as that thing you told me about the loaves and the fishes" has to be one of my favorite quotes in the entire show.
Graham Norton must have had a ball doing Father Ted, he pretty much talks/screams/dances non-stop in every single scene that he's in, and he nails it. Such a great character!
So in other words, he's just being Graham Norton
Could be this is where he honed his talkshow persona
@@philipusher4282He's annoyingly over the top, eh?
The way Graham Norton says *Ten past the eleven* is exactly how I tell the time to this day lol (in my head, at least)
I can't believe anyone else does this.😮😆
Surely this was the pinnacle of Graham Norton's career!
You don't think the Graham Norton show, which has had pretty much every famous person ever on it, extremely popular and well-known, isn't a higher point in his career than appearing in two episodes of father Ted?
@@SamuelKristopher No contest. This is hands-down a much higher point.
@@SamuelKristopher THREE episodes, actually
Samuel Kristopher Fool.
Ystadcop. This show is the pinnacle of human achievement.
"Ya big feckin eejut!" - My favourite line from this episode
Fr Larry Duff has incredible recuperative powers.
He was like Kenny on South Park, but Father Ted is older than SP.
Father Kenny McCormick!
He is suffering for our sins
"You're alright there Ted, he's a fair bit away yeh"
...
"Might be worth speedin up there Ted" 😂
1:28 It's nice that they kept that painting of Father Ted and Father Stone.
Haha never noticed , nice catch mate ;)
awww, yes, didnt see it before
I wouldn't know about that ya big bollocks.
Good job. Thanks.
See, this is why I rewatch my favorite shows. You never know what you miss.
....not nearly as mad as that thing you told me about the loaves and the fishes.............Dougal cracks me up
Grahams Irish party from shouting the Waterboys Hit to bringing down the caravan with Riverdance jumps... I loughed like a gobsheit!
(Or du you spell it "gobshite?"...)
I love Father Jack, his facial expressions are perfect! I wish his character had more on-screen time!
Yeah they could have had him play a more central role.. Considering what we know now.. About CC
If you've got the notion, watch an interview of the actor who played Father Jack. The actor and the character are as different as night and day. It's hilarious.
@@PeterOHara100 CC? ❓
Ted, haven't seen you in ages, how are you- I SAW THE WHOLE OF THE MOON!!!!!!!
Looks like Noel had one too many pieces of Mrs. Doyle's cocaine cake...
After five minutes... I would strangle Noel and not a jury in the world would convict...
Not even God would be pissed.
@@HorrorLover98 Or Father Ted.
Speaking of which, in a just world (by conservative Catholic standards imo) the guy would have been prosecuted for public nudity and fornication. But nooooo, only the peeping toms are at fault here.
Now Tom, this is first time you've been trusted to such a large consignment of raw sewage............
Funniest show ever made.
🤣🤣🤣
"Is that the day the ice age ended?"
And Marathon bar became Snickers.......
Anyone else return to this episode every July 19th? :-)
Lets look in the diary..was awesome.
"Right, so. Big feckin ejit."
Thats th funniest line for me
The cocaine gag gets me every time.
First time as an Australian I was exposed to Graham Norton, who would've known he'd be interviewing major celebrities in another 20 years. Even all these years later I still see him as this nauseating priest lol
Ha! Me too! He'll always be 'irritating father' to me! :-)
Preach!
The riverdance bit is one of the best in an episdoe full of great bits 😄
Ok father jack, into your box.
Aran 999999999. Jack in the box?
Drink! Arse! Girls!
One of my favourite episodes especially when the caravan tips over 😂
I stayed in a caravan smaller than that. Got bit by a white tail spider. Good times.
He has the pic of him and Father Stone up and he also has a calender of The Holy Stone, both episodes of Father Ted
God this show is so full of small details like that
@1:28
There are many episodes of father ted that I just love, but this by far is my favorite episode! Thanks for your You Tube station!
For me, It's "Speed" and "My Lovely Horse".
fringelily fringelily "Speed" and "Kicking Bishop Brennan Up The Arse" for me.
The dancing scene gets me every time
Arguably the best episode of the series. I LIKE CAKE!
I'm Italian. I was introduced to father Ted by my english boyfriend and I'm so glad! I love it! Ahah 😂❤
Ah ha! Is the catchphrase of Alan Partridge. It’s got bugger all to do with Father Ted.
The eyebrows and the eyeroll in the kettle bit! 🤣 'No, I ah, liked it best the first time.."
watching this on 19 july 2018... kinda spooked me with the start
Were you hauling sewage on that day?
I actually saw this episode with my mom on that date.
13:41 he got a drink alright the drink of the ocean 🌊 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The “Cake” scene is the funniest. I can now clearly picture our Lord pausing for a cup of tea halfway thru the crucifixion.
This show is hysterical!😅🤣😂
i love Mrs Doyle
What a role for Graham Norton, amazing!
Yea, hes brilliant in this.
No wonder he got his own chat show.
I WANT CAKE!
Thank you for the uploads of Father Ted. :)
Are those my feet?
This is a masterclass from Graham Norton. He couldn't have improved it. Absolutely nailed it!
Father Jack is talking a lot more than usual in this episode
The car trip gave him time to sober up for a bit
Arch Angel Michael. Fluid from the brakes too.
He's very articulate, isn't he? 'whats that thing there' always makes me die laughing
4:58
Knowing that Jack was legit excited at the idea of going to the beach is surprisingly wholesome.
Father Larry Duff strikes out again!
Great, I love the instances when the microphone just can't deal with the volume of Father Furlongs enthusiasm.
The box is feckin brilliant
So happy Father Jack got his dream. Bless his soul and as he would say ""Drink drink, drink drink, DRINK!"
That's quite a specced up Cortina. Front head restraints didn't happen in 1.6 GL models.
The look on Father Jack's face at 23:27 LOL.
Makes you wonder if he was hallucinating or not, and if he wasn't, why the hell did he bother to return to Craggy Island?
Seriously, how many people has Ted killed by just calling them on the phone? O.O
GearGades just one, but many times.
Lol! And how many times before Larry Duff remembers to turn his phone on silent? XD
@@NixiesHaunt Wait did Larry show up before?
@@davidw.2791 ha yeah, it’s a running gag on the show-Ted bought Larry Duff the phone, but every time Ted calls him he’s inevitably in a terrible situation to receive a phone call. XD
Graham Norton is but a 33 year old baby here.
Where’s Tony Lynch going? Probably to get some heroin! Lol
If i could count every time I confused raisins for cocaine, I'd be done with my sentence for that drugs conviction.
showed this to my mom. She lost it at the riverdance same as me :P
Wonderful episode. Many thanks!
Love these. Thanks a lot.
Another hilarious episode of Father Ted.
Ahh, Fanore Beach. I can't wait to visit again!

I don't bathe often but when I do I use soap. Irish Spring soap.
When i was first in Ireland i hiked up into the mountains and came upon some ferns and a spring. An Irish Spring. I said..Oh..now i get it!! Lolol.
4:19 - 4:24 Ms. Doyle just went Filthy Frank there for a second...
Great sound great def thanks!!
Their day is living hell in this episode
July 19 Month of Thuthi begins. Feast of Thoth, Opet Festival: marriage of Wasir & Aset (Isis & Osiris)
Brilliant.
Graham is tremendous fun
Best episode.
Never realized what a great payoff the sewer joke gag was.
I have a theory that the kids in Father Noel Furlong's youth group are delinquents forced to be in his youth group for community service. A better way to reform troublesome youths than any "scared straight" program, though one might argue that it's cruel and unusual punishment.
Cruel and unusual's too good fer 'em.
ARE THOSE MY FEET?!?!?!
17:18 The face....
I wish I found this show earlier.
Same.
You find it at the right time, i believe. Im American and it took 50 yrs and a Brit boyfriend on the interwebs. Amazing times!
brilliant
eey! its so funny i happened to watch this on july the 19th!
Why does Noel sound like he stepped out of Allo Allo!? 😂
I don't remember many Irish characters in Allo Allo.
I'm sure I'd convert to Catholisism if I could find a father like FATHER JACK!
If I ever meet a girl who watches Father Ted I am asking her to marry me.
Hi🇨🇦💗
Hello there lol
Love his character, they should have continued with him after Father Ted!
Graham Norton is great, I knew I recognized him when he did his "So Graham Norton Show" few year later
Hilarious.
Am I right in thinking that in the most common version of this episode, the man's butt hasn't been pixelated?
Nx Doyle Yes you are, Father Ted has been cencorised!
RUclips. Protecting us all from the Truth.
The original was not censored worse luck 😂 I’ve got the dvd and the geezers Rex Harris is on full display lol
Yeah for all you sensitive types that haven’t seen an arse before 😂
@@thegrimreaper1991 what the hell is a rex harris? its not even ryming slang or descriptive ie rusty bullethole, chocolate starfish. i am aware of arris but still feel a little perplexed??
10:51 -who else has wondered what father Bigly really looked like.
Lol graham😂
This American loves Father Ted!
For whatever reason I burst into fits of laughter when Noel’s talking about father Sweeney’s bladder. Christ it’s hysterical.
This program is the Irish version of the Three Stooges.
More like Laurel and Hardy.
Sorry never knew about Like on RUclips for all the times I missed I liked today...
Yeah, put the red button so close to the green button.
Snickers is changing it's name back to Marathon for a couple of months . 🤭🤭
16:54......the moment that we can’t take Lockdown anymore 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh shit its Graham Norton! Damn lol
12:13 is one of my favorite bits from the show
My friend has that same blow-up orca!😂😂
next thing you will be telling me you left the front door open
it's hilarious: when you get married and have kids, this is exactly what holidays are like !
It's not though
Who the hell wants to go alone on holidays?
@@pauljordan4452 most married men with kids
i would jump off a cliff if it meant ending up on that yacht
5:53 XD
8:58..." into your box "
Is Father Jack really dead this time?
Ah, I see not! 👏
Why is it called St. Kevin's Stump?
Doesn't say
A man was lured there
