Hot pot in Tibetan language is “Dza Khog” , because Tibetans have our own hotpot long time before. Dza(རྫ) means clay, and Khog( ཁོག) means pot, so it is “clay pot”, because in old days, Tibetans make this cuisine in clay pot , which will has special taste.

I’m a vegetarian too, and you can easily adapt it with mushroom stock on one side and herb or potato stock on the other. Make one spicy and one not spicy and even meat eaters are happy with no meat this meal. I add tofu puffs, firm tofu, fried wheat gluten, mushrooms, sliced sweet potatoes, bok choy, cabbage, baby onions, thinly sliced carrots, potatoes, lotus root (my favorite), fried dough, and noodles. But you can add anything you like, as long as it’s quick cooking and easy to share. As long as you have friends and family to share the meal, you’ll have a delicious and fun evening.
