The fact that these parents were trying to contact Brian's parents BEFORE the van even showed up at their place, (worrying about Gabby AND Brian, and got NO answer) speaks VOLUMES. They knew
Losers. Selfish losers. When all of America wants answers on a strange death, you should be giving them. But when a family needs answers about their child, it’s mandatory. This family deserves it, SO MUCH. They worked so hard without their help, they found their daughter, unfortunately it wasn’t how they wanted to find her. But now the Laundries family needs to spill it. It’s time to stop protecting your temper tantrum son, he needs to be taught right from wrong.
@@ashleywilliams4665: God instilled a conscience into human beings, and people do know right from wrong. The only people who don't know right from wrong are newborns and mentally handicapped individuals.
This family is literally the definition of co-parenting done right. You can tell that they all care about each other respectfully and cared about Gabby.
Except they raised a daughter with mental health issues and so insecure that she stayed in a toxic relationship... And that's not a judgment, it's just a contrary opinion to yours. The few minutes they have been in front of the camera are not indicative of 20 something years of co-parenting (or however many years it was).
Mmmmmm, not sure. If this was the case Gabby would talk to them about her toxic relationships with Brian. I cannot blame parents, but if she wasn’t able to talk to any of them something was wrong.
The fact that these ex's and step parents can say "we've always been a team" WOW. So often times people divorce and they can barely hear the ex's name. RESPECT.
Her poor step father you can see how much is weighing on him. He’s trying to remain so strong but also dealing with being the one to identify her and tell the others. Breaks my soul to see the pain in his face.
@keith prempeh that is why the Petito family are setting up a foundation to make sure news of people missing get more publicised like Gabbys did. They want to let everyone get the same treatment.
@keith prempeh you are right that statistically, white missing persons usually are found more often, no matter the outcome, and get more media attention. But that’s our job. TIK tok is the reason Gabby’s case blew up. It’s our job as viewers and scrollers to decide if we spend an extra ten seconds posting, retweeting etc., for every single missing person and victim no matter their race or circumstance.
@keith prempeh this family made a collective decision to be proactive and loud in the media which helped them solve this case quickly, the media and police where on it. If the family bandits together in numbers I think race wouldn’t be an issue. Many parents have to make a decision on how they decide to come forward. If it is dangerous for the missing child or family member many times the parent or family will want to remain low key. This is an additional consideration.
This family is so dignified; I don't even see them as a divorced couple sitting there with their new partners. They are a wonderful family through and through and my heart hurts for them.
It's odd though cause it looks like they traded partners. Like the bio parents each got a newer version? It's odd but looking at the foursome, I think Gabby was very lucky to have them. All of them. Except the Laundries.
She was such a beautiful soul taken to soon yes this world has lost a magnificent young woman who could have gone on to such incredible heights her talent her love of people she was the best of the best God Bless you Gabby🙏🌹💖
Her mother looks like she’s just so emotionally drained. I can’t imagine how she feels losing her baby girl like that. I pray she finds peace and that Brian pays for his crime. SIP baby girl
Agreed....and his parents need to pay for their crime of harbouring him, rather than teaching him to own up to his horrible crime of killing dear Gabby.
@Lori Lazise He was dead before news of GP's disappearance really blew up. His parents were likely lied to about why her parents were calling and his parents told the police when they were concerned about how long he'd been gone. They didn't help him, harbor him, etc. If they did, they'd surely be charged due to the huge media focus on the case, but they haven't nor will they be.
It’s truly beautiful seeing how the step parents and birth parents all support each other & get along. They had her since she was a baby. So sweet. Very admirable. I’m glad she was so loved.
But if she was indeed so loved then why didn’t she ever feel comfortable enough to confide in any of them and tell them anything about her boyfriend or relationship problems? Her father said that he never saw any red flags. That’s the question going on in my head.
They remind me so much of my husband and my stepson and I and my stepson’s mom. We all love each other, even though we maybe didn’t always get along, we were there for each other for our son. This just got me in the feels since I think of my own stepson who has been in my life since he was 1 and now he is 20.
@@JenniferBrigitteOpticalVortex of course she did it was extremely touching and so good for Gabby they all loved her so much so they knew how to put this sweet lady to rest

She was such a lucky girl to have so many loving parents, who took the time and effort to co-parent her into a driven, ambitious, and kind person. She would be so proud of them all if she could see this interview.

I really appreciate Gabbys family’s lawyer allowing them to tell their story and just adding in details that connect everything rather than speaking for them
Maybe if they had modeled healthier behavior she might not have stayed with an abusive man for that long and wouldn’t have ever gotten together with him in the first place. I would never have let my daughter go off in a van with someone I barely knew. I don’t see model parenting, I see failure on every level toward Gabby
@@doctoroclock7732 But they knew him. They were engaged and had been together for years. Also, she was 22. If you are controlling your daughter at 22 then YOU aren't modeling healthy behavior. These people are amazing parents you can tell just by watching them. You, not so much lol.
The attorney seems like the right fit for Gabby's case! He seems to genuinely care and has experience in this field of law. I feel for Gabby and her family it is such a sad situation.
@@ZootZinBootZ the thing about the Laundrie’s attorney & the Laundrie family is that they know each other personally, so if the family is shady, the attorney is gonna be shady. If anything, when it all goes to trial, I have a feeling that the Laundrie attorney will come up with a very absurd argument to justify Brian and loose anyway.
@@christina.lynn97 If he can't get disbarred first !! The drone footage shows the Laundrie parents gardening, totally relaxed and unconcerned. They know where their son is. Bless these amazing parents, their dignity is doing Gabby proud x
The Laundrie parents obviously never held their son accountable for his behavior and likely made excuses for him his whole life. That’s why he turned out to be such a mess. It’s just sad for these two great couples and for Gabby who didn’t deserve any of it.
No, not obviously. Sometimes is the opposite. Sometimes parents are dictators and want control and the choice over everything their kids do. Then, when these kids grow up, they do not know how to think for themselves, they do not know how to do anything for themselves when they find themselves free to make their own choices and to deal with life. We all know at one point of our lives someone who's parents were strict to the point of being extremist until the kid rebelled or took all the wrong roads when they were old enough to do as they pleased. You cannot make all the choices for your kids, you have to give them the opportunity to make their own choices so they learn to deal with the consequences of their own choices. Many parents see this as a threat to their authority. Parents like that only care about being obeyed and not about "guiding" their kids. Look up the three types of parenting: Authoritarian, Authoritative and Permissive. There is more than one way to mess up your child than the "not holding your child accountable." Most people do not even think that controlling your child is the easiest way to raise a spoiled child.
@@skyemed8964 I highly doubt his parents were dictators. This kid was left to roam wherever, whenever he liked. 'Authoritarian' parents would not provide such long ropes, your logic is flawed.

So true, that's because they have respect for life. His parent's don't care at all. Now they are worried that something has happened to their son??? I mean I sure hope they find him alive because he deserves to pay for what he has done to such a beautiful girl.
When Nicole said that she was worried about BOTH of them bc she didn’t yet know what was going on, she just knew she wasn’t reaching anybody, it was so very sad. It makes Brian more of a monster IMO, she was so kind to worry about him too 😢

For everyone saying “they’re showing no emotion” or things along that line…when something like this happens, especially to your own child, you reach a point where you physically can’t cry any more tears. My heart breaks for her family.
Yes. Now they are at their righteous anger stage. Its time to stop crying and focus on catching this murderer. I cant imagine that type of stress they're going through.
To the parents: When I lost my son, I also tended to go down 'the rabbit hole' with 'what ifs.' Something that helped me was that I realized that just because my mind brought up a question, didn't mean I had to answer it or even think about it. When a 'what if' would come, I practiced saying to myself, "That's a question that doesn't need to be answered." Then, I'd distract myself. All questions do not require answers. My deepest condolences. Hugs, Barbara
That’s wonderful advice. I’ve had that experience of torturing myself with “what ifs” too. It puts such an emotional burden on an already stressful situation.
Her story has really spoke out to me, i got out of a toxic relationship and was getting choked and almost died. This story really speaks to me because this could’ve been me….. Gabby woke up everyone who goes through domestic violence to get out before it’s too late. Rest In Peace Gabby, you seemed so amazing, I wish I could’ve been your friend 😢
My heart goes out to you. I was also a victim. Twice. To narcissistic men. I am in the discard phase and running. I know the back and forth pattern. But I'm not allowing it anymore. I'm running back to NC soon so I'll be free completely.
Ditto… the guys pit bull would save me ❤️ R.I.P. crazy how police let rapists run rampant. I’ve gotten raped over 50 times, by 6 different guys… no wonder us females get this SOOO much. Bcuz police don’t care, media doesn’t care, no one cares about young women getting killed, and raped. Sad. The police could’ve stopped this while pulling over this young couple OBVIOUSLY not having a good time, and PHYSICALLY abusive. The girl had scratched, and hit this guy while driving as well.
YES, SAME HERE! I was in a toxic relationship and it really woke me up. I was beaten, raped, still loved that monster but finally couldn't take no more. I got out and I remained safe. F him and all other abusiver's, toxic, narc/sociopathic people like them!
Lets give the Attorney more credits. He's like a really nice and genuine guy. He always speaks for the family when they are asked a hard question BECAUSE he knows how to answer them in a such a good way. This makes me want to become a lawyer! Props to him. He has been with them from the very beginning of this case.
Agreed - some people have said he’s too stony and serious, but I think when you’re in his position, you have to leave the moments of levity/humour to the family if they feel up to it, it’s not appropriate for him to be smiley/chirpy or steal the spotlight from them in media appearances.
“what have they done to find Brian, i haven’t seen them on any TV shows” You hit the nail on the head Mr. Petito! He’s not missing because they know exactly where he is. 🎯
Even Brian SISTER has been on tv shows, pleading her family to start talking and tell them where Brian is. She has been shut out by them all, I’m guessing because they knew she wouldn’t go along with their plans. She would speak up.
Such a classy group of people. This is just heartbreaking. This case REALLY affects me. I feel so sad for them. As a parent... I can’t even imagine what they’re feeling.
Get a grip, Ryan. There are hundreds of thousands of open missing persons cases and unsolved murders in the US, and millions of grieving relatives. This case "really" affected you because the media keeps broadcasting it 24/7.
I like that both Gabby's parents and their partners are all ok with each other. It's very very mature for these day's standards. It says a lot about who their daughter is. I know she's alive in a better place.
I really appreciate that that Joe Petito refuses to let her death be meaningless. One way or another he will ensure his daughters legacy is not a reflection of her passing, but a reflection of the young woman she truly was.
They were concerned both were missing :( Imagine worrying about someone elses child and trying to call the other parents to raise your concerns, only to be ghosted. Then later you find out they knew so much long before everyone else and gave zero cares about your childs wellbeing. If only the Laundries cared for Gabbys welfare like Gabbys family did for Brian.
The sickening part is that there's other men out there exactly like him in relationships with women that deserve so much better than what they've settled for. If Gabby were my girlfriend I would have cherished her. I just hope others out there that are in relationships like the one Gabby was in are able to clearly recognize when someone Isn't right for him or her before It's too late. Not everyone is fortunate enough to get out of an abusive relationship
My daughter is Gabby's age and I can only imagine what these parents are going through. We also parent as a team. My kids have 2 sets of parents. I don't come across other parents like Gabby's & us who can co-parent and spend all holidays as a big family and get along so very well. The world needs more parents like this.
That feeling, it is undescribable. No, I haven't been in a situation, but when I lost my mother in a sudden car accident, it us such a void, nothing can fill it. Even if one learns to go onwards, we just have that there, that missing piece. Now reverse it to a parent loosing a child... I cannot imagine. They deserve answers. We will not let Brian get away with this.
I am humbled by how articulate Gabby's family are. I feel like if I were grieving deeply, I would not be able to advocate for my child as well as they have. They deserve so much recognition for their ability to keep it together under the worst possible circumstances, in order to give Gabby the respect she deserves. God bless them.
Out of respect for Gabby it's their honor to speak with dignity about their daughter....no one else can do that except them, plus it helps to speak out.

If we're going by with this interview, we can tell that Gabby was raised in such a beautiful, loving, emotionally healthy environment. We can guess she's a girl full of life, kind, understanding, and forgiving.. something that attracts narcissists. Such a terrible combination to have someone entitled to drain the life out of you with someone who is always willing to constantly forgive and give another chance. I mean, being constantly being on and off like her best friend said; maybe it's just me, but that just spells trauma bonding.
Watching this I'm wondering why was she attracted to this abusive man coming from a family which supposedly shown her what healthy love looks like. Girls should be raised to have non-negotiable boundaries & high standards instead of being polite & forgiving because it attracts abusive males.
I have been there for almost the past 2 years. I've finally escaped. I knew what the outcome was already when they were looking for her and sharing the video of her crying in the police car. I felt her heart, because it was my own. Narcissists are pure evil. NPD needs even more awareness. When these demons latch onto you, it's very difficult to get away. Im moving soon to get away from all of it. Victims can escape before it's too late. This story hit me hard. My heart hurts for this family. Melissa, with so many similarities to Gabby, this almost mirrors your life, minus the abuse(s) hopefully!! I get why you feel so close to this case and I have to say that I agree with you on every turn. There is also verbal abuse as well that can really be just as harmful....such as a word punching you in the heart as apposed to a fist hitting you in the gut. I divorced my ex-husband of almost 16 yrs of marriage because of the sever verbal abuse that bordered physical abuse of which he was starting to show. He graduated to small nudging to bigger stances such as pushing and shoving me around, that's where I drew the line, gathered my kids and left. I was so lucky to get out and feel very blessed to have gotten out, but to get my kids away from this type of behavior also. Be safe and healthy, Melissa and take care!!!

It's really sad how he mentioned feeling okay with her going on the trip because she thoroughly planned it out so well for over a year. Out of all the bad things that could have happened I'm sure something like this never even crossed their minds.
@Jen F agreed. If my 22 year old daughter spent 1.5 years planning this trip and was taking her boyfriend/fiance, I would have actually thought, cool, he won't let anything happen to her. It would give me a greater sense of security that she had someone who loved her with her. Who would have ever thought the one person you trusted to protect her would be the one who actually killed her? Omg.. 😭
Gabby is an inspiration and so are her parents. The bond the four of them have is beautiful. You can feel the respect, love and unity… I think that’s why Gabby became such an amazing young woman. The world does know her name, her smile and will forever remember her. She was pure light on earth and still shines. My heart breaks for her, I was in an abusive relationship when I was a year older. It went from verbal, emotional to physical. I got out and I thank God for that one moment of strength when I said “ I’m done!”. It takes quite a while to heal from what you’ve been through and to find your true self again, but it’s worth it. I agree. These 4 parents have shaped an absoutely wonderful daughter. I was 15-20 and was in a very abusive relationship. It was always about making me feel bad and when we moved in together it got physical. Cheating , abuse mentality verbally and physically. I hate it, but if there was any chance I could be seen as a party to a crime by child committed in a court of law, I would also listen to my attorney even if I wasn't guilty. You have to be careful in highly public and emotionally charged situations like this. Prosecutors are out for blood. Our society wants a fair justice system, but we get angry when it's fair. As my humble opinion, I don’t think Brian is deceased by his own doing. He had 11+ days to do that after he made it home to Florida before vanishing and he didn’t. Brian is running. Brian is hiding.
Indeed. In my opinion he loves himself too much to end his own Life. I even think he really thinks of himself as the victim. there's no regret or empathy.
It's the callousness of the Laundrie family that has captivated the world's attention. Everyone wants justice for Gabby Petito and her family and they will get it soon.

The attitude of the Laundrie family, especially the parents, is beyond disgusting, heartless, rude,.
Absolute monsters.

This family is literally the definition of co-parenting done right. You can tell that they all care about each other respectfully and cared about Gabby.
I couldn’t agree more! The grace and love they have for Gabby and one another has been on full display. God bless them.
Except they raised a daughter with mental health issues and so insecure that she stayed in a toxic relationship... And that's not a judgment, it's just a contrary opinion to yours. The few minutes they have been in front of the camera are not indicative of 20 something years of co-parenting (or however many years it was).
They’re adults acting like adults, unfortunately an uncommon sight these days.

@keith prempeh last person who made national news was Hispanic.Vanessa Guillen
I agree! She had 4 people that love her a lot. I just wish that the night her and Brian separated that she would have left him & went home.
It's odd though cause it looks like they traded partners. Like the bio parents each got a newer version?

It definitely is so sad. It’s an example of how not to parent
@@skyemed8964 I highly doubt his parents were dictators. This kid was left to roam wherever, whenever he liked. 'Authoritarian' parents would not provide such long ropes, your logic is flawed.

These parents and step-parents are the true epitome of how all parents who divorce, should convey themselves and how to make a child/children of divorce feel loved and supported in order to be successful and flourish in life. I’ve gotten entangled in the worst way of how to CoParent but certainty NOT by choice. It’s amazing how evil people can be. Prayers to this family now and forever and always. ♥️
How can you determine all that from one interview you have no idea how they behave alone as co parents but yes thank god they’re behaving.
As a young woman who had low self esteem and stayed in emotionally abusive situations with men I should have left long before, I can tell you that this stuff is learned from watching your parents. These parents aren’t Saints. They should never have let their precious daughter have gone off in a tiny tiny van with a man they barely knew. They failed her, big time.

I feel for Gabby's parents. She was such a beautiful girl with her whole life ahead of her. The whole Laundrie family should be held accountable for their unlawful actions in this horrible situation.

I have no doubt they know he's okay. The Father hit the nail on the head. Why are they not reaching out to anyone to help find Brian? I think we all know the answer to that.

This family should be the poster board for what great co-parenting looks like. I wonder if they have thought about running courses or seminars on how to do it properly. Many families struggle with it ♡
They also have admirable self control.. If I was in their situation I can't say I wouldn't be above taking a baseball bat to the windows so that Brian's parents would speak to me.

Amen Kim , we are thinking of here in G.B XXX
My mother shares this with me often to remind me what could happen.
To be this composed in a tragedy like this is such a testimony to their characters! Wow. I commend this family.
Praying for this beautiful blended family. I can't imagine what they must be going through, especially since this case is so public. I hope this case ends with the answers this family needs.
This is so heartbreaking. Abuse goes further than just physical abuse, theres also other forms of abuse like emotional, mental, and financial. She seemed like such a sweet girl, sometimes as a woman we fall so inlove that we see past all of those forms of abuse. Brian is such a coward and I hope that they give Gabby the justice that she deserves. Stay safe ladies, lets all learn from Gabbys story. RIP, my condolences go out to her family. I think that this story hit close to home because I am also from Ny, im 22 years old and I am a woman.
Yep, i barely survived my ex. She abused me physically by exhausting all my energy, she abused me mentally by having to listen to her, she abused me emotionally by not leaving me alone until she could finish abusing me financially.
This family as whole deserves answers. Continued prayers.

Even through tragedy, this family has such a lovely and beautiful perspective on things. Gabby must have been such a lovely person too
It's really sad how he mentioned feeling okay with her going on the trip because she thoroughly planned it out so well for over a year. Out of all the bad things that could have happened I'm sure something like this never even crossed their minds.
Except maybe the dome of the bald one, meaning the one who probably did the did, not the parents.
I can’t thank Gabby’s parents enough for bringing this very serious, very real topic to light. It’s been in the dark much to long. God bless the Petito Schmidt family and Gabby, be happy and peaceful in Heaven. 🙏🏻
I agree. These 4 parents have shaped an absoutely wonderful daughter. I was 15-20 and was in a very abusive relationship. It was always about making me feel bad and when we moved in together it got physical. Cheating , abuse mentality verbally and physically. Here we are 9 years later and I made it out and it took everything I could to get away and there’s not alot of people who do get out of an abusive relationship

I liked your comment. I'm not against anything you said. I'm just giving another perspective.
