Just started going to a boxing gym, the trainer isn’t too fond on my peek-a-boo stance and drastic slips and weaves…but I’m new all together so I’m taking value from his advice but practicing the peek a boo during open gym. It feels far more comfortable to me, especially that I’m 5’ 6”
Weird thing is I am 6 foot 3 ¾ and yet I prefer Peek a Boo. The way it works just feels better and seems to make more sense to me. But Mike Tyson is my fav fighter, and not simply because of peek a boo
Yea boxing coaches hate stance switching but that hate is just foolish to me. If my body can do it, then I'm gonna do it. Floyd Patterson had a lethal peek-a-boo style because he could stance switch with ease
Yea. These beginner level advice fucked me up for a long time haha. An idiot like me is going to take everything literal. You get coaches telling you never to square up, or never put your hands down, never cross your feet, etc. etc. But like this guy said it's about range. Something things, style or technique is going to be more optimal or not depending on the situation. I was a shorter boxer and trained and developed like a long range fighter. I get tagged so fucking easy in sparring its ridiculous because here I am trying to adhere to what the coaches say haha. I was never going to be able to counter a taller fighter like that. Now I know I should've developed in fighting, especially the peekaboo stance, which is a defensive stance. Sparring really discouraged me from boxing, and the coaches never had fixes for me. Imo the most effective shorter fighter styles are definitely a Mike Tyson and Loma like style.
i rly appreciate finding his channel. mah man is a top tier boxer and i love to learn from him. his vids and technique is unprecedented. thy for motivating me, cuz of u i started with boxing two weeks ago. ❤️
What do I think you was asking. Hi teacher Logan, i just found you, was watching a few Videos. What I like is, you realy can do greatly what you are talking about. Thank you very much. And greetings from Bavaria. norbert
Great vid! One question too: What differences have you noticed between younger Mike (around when Cus was still alive) and older Mike (still in pro career) in the way they utilize Peek-a-Boo?
Mike had spring in his step, he bounced around alot especially in amateur days. Once he hit mod twenties, he would approach his opponent on flat feet. Maybe because he put on alot more size I'm not sure. But he obviously lost the art somewhere along the way, that pendulum swing takes alot of conditioning to maintain. I'm 185 lbs, and I've adopted his same techniques (not totally) and I found its difficult to keep the energy up. I've got a few videos practicing that sort. No sparring videos yet though!
I'm 46 years old and trying to learned combinations and foot ,feet techniques just a beginner, I think I have a strong punch but I haven't put it to practice yet
Hey, I'd really like to know your thoughts on some ways how to close the distance from using an Orthodox stance to getting close enough to use the square stance.
It's a mix between both but you should really feel it for yourself. For me when I'm against taller guy and I'm close il use the square stance. When I'm away Il try to use the orthodox to get in and so on.
Weave into southpaw connecting my 6 4 2 explains a lot cause I feel awkward doing em in orthodox and that cus tape willie bag he kept saying move as you or after u punch can’t tell if he’s saying weave or side step closer or step out cause I’m doing em “from a distance “ Mid range but agh maybe I need too be more square this time I know my somewhat heavy bag is flying too the left side as it dose to my right. Btw thank you for the vid Respect .
so you would use both styles depending on the situation? .. peekaboo allows greater upclose movement and the ability to generate power from both sides, while the traditional angle stance allows more range and the covering of distance .. peekboo is preferable as it allows greater movement both sides .. kia ora e hoa, tumeke advice ..
God bless you brother!!! I am a boxer and I aint a kid no more but hey Jersey Joe Walcott was on the right age at his 37, right?!! You will hearing about me. I am starting my professional career this year and I already feel there is no opponent for me no more there is nothing to proof no more- how you fight multiple opponents in real life happening, you know for the smarties and evil poor hearts out there!!, no time for shoes, taking a shirt out, right. So in summary I am so happy with my work, with me Greetings to all sweeties out there!! Hey is your effort your work your life ignore the pain laughs from the humanity
Hi, I enjoy these videos. I emailed a few times now with no response, why? I clicked on link it said 50% percent off videos. But when I ho to purchase its, not 50 percent off $99. Can you send me a link for best price off the complete collection. Thank you
This style over rated, watch Holifeild vs Tyson and see how pivoting and a great jab stops that quickly. Lennox Lewis and Holifeild show perfect examples how to destroy this style of boxing;D

Like for long range fighting I prefer cuban flow, but in the hold it's definitely peek-a-boo.
You should tell him to fuck off

May God bless you Logan! I looked so much for such content. I’m really grateful for sharing it with us.
He did do that, the right foot first. Never thought about that until you pointed it out. Good video.
Thanks Coach. Moving that rear leg forward made a big difference in my slip jab. Now I cover distance and get more power.

@@jeremiahjeremiah1319 yeah
@@jeremiahjeremiah1319 Peek A Boo... takes a lot of energy and stamina..it's not an ideal style once you getting over mid 30's in age
@@HAYDENMUSICTV No kidding lol.
I'm still trying to build my legs up to be more springy and mobile
@@jeremiahjeremiah1319 really should have said its a style usually more suited to shorter, younger fighters
Brilliant!!! Thank you.

I can't figure out if I should heel or front foot strike when I make a step. Seems like you step flat on the floor
