Weird story here but idk I just wanted to share with ya. I helped raise my exes daughter and was with them for 8 years from age of 2-10. We split up last year and I miss the kid a lot. We randomly started watching your vids one day and we even bought our own US MREs to try them out, she thought they were tasty. I still check your vids out and its kind of a nice little memory that I wanted to share.
The European MREs are great, it feels like another MRE mountain order is a Christmas present to myself. YT decided to stop notifying me completely for a month about your videos. Catch up time! I missed seeing you guys
Welcome back guys! I wondered if it was just because I was doing search and rescue for the hurricane that I had not seen you or you took a break. Love what is going to be the new set. I hope you are setting it up so you can do some more cooking videos also. I see the sink in the background so I assume you are going to put in an induction stove also ( they are really cool to use once you learn how to and boy are they fast) again welcome back. Chief Dave
Damn the boys got plenty to feast on nowadays...I remember back in the days, we had one box with stuff. Like the older german or danish ones. They where fine for breakfast and lunch. Supper we had fresh meals from the fieldkitchen or from our messhal on board of our vessel. I need to test these some day. Awsome review! P.s. the lil container what got exploded and made everything sticky is "apelstroop" a sweet dutch speciality, made of a lot of brown sugar and applejuice.
Thanks Nathan and company for another informative review. Casey at MRE mountain is great to work with. I will be hitting him up next year if any of these are available by then. My stash is getting low.
It must be hard to find onion or onion flavour distasteful, as most savory food has onion or onion powder in it (unless its hone cooked and you can leave it out) I think its called parosmia when certain people can taste the sulphates in the onion family and it tastes bad to them. Really love the new set, must be so much easier to film your reviews. Great review :)
i HATE HATE HATE onions, i hate the smell, the texture (slimy and crispy) and above all the flavor. i have HATED them all my life. i really enjoy savory foods but like you said, savory foods all have onions in it. i have been picking onions out of foods all my life. i am in my mid 40s and clearly remember being 4 years old and having a pile of onions on the side of my dinner plate and not being allowed to leave the table until i eat them all.....at 1130pm. thanks mom
Non of the cracker packets in this ration is supose to be vacum packed.! btw fold out hte gussets on the main meal poches, makes its easer to stire the water in the dry food :)
I counted something like 14 beverages in this, beside the chicken soup and whey mix...impressive! Those guys would need to melt a lot of snow on the field.
Looks good, I didn't see any coffee, I know from experience that you really don't want to eat anything freeze dried without having enough water in it, you're way better off having it a little bit mushy and definitely wait a good long while before eating it
There are 3 instant coffee sachets in this MRE. He just wrongly referred them as "coffee witheners". I think there's one creamer along the instant coffees, not sure though.
Who expected the licorice sticks to be Good N' Plenty candies! Definitely not me, I didn't think they had them in Europe. Great new place to film! Seems a lot easier to get everything in front of the camera. Congrats!
From what I know it's pretty popular especially in the northern countries tho it's similar in people either love it or hate it. Tho it really was surprising to see it in a ration. Can't remember if the ones I have around have licorice in them
@@tobiasworner4970 I had some idea that licorice was popular there, but the candy coated "Good n' Plenty" kind of licorice I had previously thought was just American. Learn something new all the time!
@@tobiasworner4970 I haven't had that, but I've heard of it and I'm going to make it a point to get some. If it's anything like salted caramel it'll be great. LOL
Dutch Army Standards: 4200 KCAL for regular forces, 5200 KCAL for infantry, SOF and assault engineers, 6200 KCAL for arctic operations. The one showed is an arctic ration.
Plastic cutlery has been banned from November in our State. I really hate the invasive taste of wooden implements, so it is going to be interesting eating out or ordering in from now on.
I recommend to you the German army cutlery set. Made of stainless steel, in usage since basically forever. It has more weight and needs to be cleaned but no more cheap plastic cutlery breaking while eating
I know for a fact, cus I tried, that that is indeed possible. And it was a heavy long week. But I still survived and had enough energy to be able to do my thing.
That shouldn't be sour yoghurt, that doesn't sound right Dutch yoghurt isn't that sour. With other bits and pieces being compromised that pack should have been tossed away right away. You might want to get a new pack and try again
Aperrently, this one is already outdated. They changed it again. And for all the dutchies out here. Im sad to inform you... They aparently.. removed.. the fruit biscuits..😢
I'm pretty sure you were supposed to use the Italian herb mix with the Pasta Cabonara.

Welcome back!
I definitely like this new format and studio much better. The outdoor background looks nice too.
That black licorice candy has me craving Good and Plenty. Thanks for the video. Hope you all are enjoying the leaves changing color in South Missouri!
I think the Dutch licorice is way stronger than Good & Plenty, though, like way stronger.
I like the new setup, looks like you've got a lot more room. You'll probably need a tray of your own lol. Good video, loved it.

If an MRE can't handle the usps postal service sayes something about our shipping Co.
will we be getting a tour of the new studio?
Surprised you got the mains, last 2 i ordered customs took them
My Dutch fellows failed with the jam and packaging. Imagine being a soldier and having this to survive on

Brother, you mentioned cream, so your Carbonara is already American, haha. This ration looked amazing compared to the US stuff.
My question is how much of the meals get waisted. No offesense its just a big meal for a 24hr ration.
Non of the cracker packets in this ration is supose to be vacum packed.! btw fold out hte gussets on the main meal poches, makes its easer to stire the water in the dry food :)
Philip needs to come on camera
Ruining fine muesli by adding hot water. It's meant to be done with cold water for a longer time or it turns into mush.
A Nathan drop!
the place seems fine to me as is
Huge ration. Good review Nathan.
Nathan, was being to think you quit making videos
Awh man no coffee ☕
That's the arctic MRE by the way.

Uh oh, does Phillip have the corona-devil??? Ah hell!
No tabasco sauce!
Nvm you told me in the vid lol
Dutch and Danish mre quite similar
If these are meant to be used in a combat environment, why is the packaging really shiny?

Why do they put the jelly/honey in those flimsy aluminium packs ??? why not in a plastic packet , like a ketchup pack ??
Yeah, if a milk product tastes sour, and it's not meant to be yoghurt, it's probably gone bad... :S
idk about other european countries but Dutch Yoghurt is a little sour though.
Mix sugar in the yoghurt musli.
This only counts if you eat it ALL !
the carbonaro looks more like it has chipped beef more than pork. But hey, you guys are eating it.
You could make that mran last a week if you paced yourself
