Locks are only effective to a certain degree. Most doors, even ones with pretty beefy locks can easily be kicked in. The door hardware and frame are typically a weak point on residential grade construction. You need to harden a door and strengthen the frame if you really want to prevent someone from getting in. I live in a rural area where it’s very unlikely that someone would attempt to break in. I have normal locks and an intrusion alarm that would go off and notify law enforcement if someone opened the doors or broke a window while the system is armed. The police response time where I live is pretty poor (~30+ minutes) considering my township is unincorporated and doesn’t even have its own police department, we are in the county sheriffs patrol division. Between my dog and the alarm, my wife and I would have adequate time to retrieve our guns and protect our family and property until the authorities could respond and take over.
Not too sure if many people know this but Steam only implemented refunds because of the Australian Government having had sued them back in 2014 because of misleading Steam Users who are located in Australia about being able to get refunded for faulty/ broken games, at the time it was very rare to get refunds from Steam. Steam Users/ Consumers in Australia are protected by ACCC and since Steam conducts business in Australia, they have to be compliant with the law over here. Only in June 2015 did Steam implement refunds for games. Not too sure if Steam will make any changes to Steam Refunds as they had lost the lawsuit in Australia ($3 Million AUD or $1.9 Million USD) for not implementing refunds beforehand. Would be interesting to see if Steam does make changes for smaller developers. Hopefully they won't decide to stop conducting business operations here just to remove the ability to refund games.
Agreed, or devs can submit a custom time that can't be exceeded for possible refund. This would obviously need to be manually reviewed though to avoid abuse.
Maybe they could base it off of the average HowLongToBeat time for the game. If the average playtime is like 20 hours, then 2 hours is an okay amount of time for you to realise "oh I don't like this", or "oh, it doesn't run well on my system". If the average playtime is like 2 hours, then maybe you only get 30 minutes to refund. Something like that could work quite well, but would obviously require some finetuning.
In my opinion, this game would be genuinely scary if only it sticks to one plotline. There are so many names introduced, plotlines uncovered, and game mechanics used that the previous items and mechanics felt useless later on. It feels like the developer had used all the "horror game tropes" he could have and incorporate them all in this game and said "fuck it, they'll just play the game not mind the story afterall". You have no idea how many times I clocked out of the gameplay because my mind is too busy trying to process the connection of... Literally everything. The game is like 10 different games with 100 different objectives mushed into one clusterf*ck.. it's still holds the scary feel to it.... At some parts.
How heartless those people are. After playing such wonderful game that is a result of hardwork of developers for a long time! I bet they don't even get that much money from this game and just enough to make another game for us to play...
28:15 I like how someone in chat tried to correct Insym on how to say Willem Dafoe's name, and they ended up being wrong anyway. Either that or they were trying to say that wasn't Willem in the photo. In that case the joke flew over their head.
These developers need to hire a type designer or graphic artist - that is the first thing I notice in maybe indie horror games similar to this. I know it seems minuscule but those sort of details can make a difference - same with other small details that really sets some games apart.
As far as the whole issue with ppl buying the games- there should be a NO REFUND policy *period* . Each game should show estimates of game play and a no refund policy should be shown.
Maybe if the developer of a game could lock the refund behind an achievment and once you get said achievment you cant refund the game anymore? i dont know its truly is a rough position for indie devs, i havent even considered doing that (not that i will now) because i'm not that much of a cheapskate
Hm, I don't think I really like the "split-personality disorder" explanation for the Big Bad Evil in this game. The game itself looks quite impressive, has interesting lore and tie-ins, but just not that part
I had to stop your video 2/3rds into it because a bobcat tried killing our other chicken (it’s 10:34pm). Now whenever you’re moving around in the yard, I’m freaked out more lol
I think the best way to work around refund games with bad faith is to have a system where you say "this game is not refundable" but also for these kind of games to be necessary to have a demo available, this way anyone can check if the game is working on their hardware before buying it, making it more plausible to be non-refundable
no way. they would have to vet theb games then...which would b amazing but never happening.rn there are actually more games that are bugged than play-finishable or just bareboned ^^ so the refundability is vital as long as the quality is so bad. if u wanna see what i mean: look up themrsark on twitch ^^ he plays a lot of the steamgames horrorgames that are just randomly chosen. and we call em dumpster games xD its very often fun to watch... sometimes though, u really feel angry for what ppl charge money (at least chat does xD MrSark has only ever refunded 1 game). .... You also realize how many of the games are probably not that great by realizing that 90percent of content creators play the same games (not everyone every game. but u dont find a great game played by only one of them.... in 99percent... ^^ watched too much over the last years xD kekw... i)
You don’t need to lock your door when there have never been any criminal’s in your town. 👀 hence why I don’t lock my door. And I live by the forest and a river. and at 3 am you hear the vixen scream 😂 so horror is nothing here. Just search up the vixen scream on RUclips, nothing scary to watch! Just a scream for the Foxes. I got a windowed door from my room to my back porch which I sleep with open. I’ve got a gigantic fridge next to my gaming setup which makes static noice 24/7 The river makes a high sound as well. now when thinking about this, I should make a horror game based on my property 😂
My friend never locked her front door. All fine and fun until someone once tried to rattle the door and get in when the door was locked. She started locking it after that. When I was little, family didn't lock the front door and a fcking dude literally walked into the hallway. Scary shit.
"refounding games like this".....like rly? do ppls rly need back those 5-10€?....what a sad world....i will never refound anything from this developer cuz its briliant
No, unfortunately that was a problem in the 90s and 80s too. It's why a lot o game had bullshit difficulties. "Can we make our game long enough so that people can't beat it in one sitting". Refunds are required by law in a lot of countries.
What if you did a Visage run but allowed audience participation if you got hopelessly stuck? That could mitigate some of the frustration. The other parts of the series are pretty damn good.
loool what the frick lol, 58:45 this is literally one of the houses in ranch simulator. i am chilling in there making cheese from my cous outside and now i see this. i can never look on it the same anymore lol my ranch relaxation is ruined xD
Lol you’re playing a horror game about the negative part of people that triggers them to abduct CHILDREN and you let yourself get sidetracked with the hunter’s impulse to get trophies from their kills (deer head on wall) lol 😝 😂😂 Funny, In it’s own way lol
I am so sick of ignorant game devepers using the misinformed trope that mental illness is the reason for serial killers. Btw it's not Multiple Personality Disorder anymore. It is Dissociative Identity Disorder. And ppl with that disorder do not become killers. They are victims of terrible recurring childhood trauma. it is the mind's way of surviving said trauma. Games like this further stigmatize mental illness and endanger already struggling ppl. Do not purchase or promote games and any median like this please.
Developer: *throws in every scary thing he can think of.*
Insym: "Hey, this is an awesome trip through memory lane!

I feel like Steam should be able to detect when you've finished a game and make refunds void after finishing.
Agreed, or devs can submit a custom time that can't be exceeded for possible refund. This would obviously need to be manually reviewed though to avoid abuse.
@@Krispe they could make a steam approved achievement for finishing the game that makes the game nonrefundable, that could work

As soon as you said “baby” the way you did I immediately looked at you and whispered, “welcome to the game” 👀👀 I gotchu Insym, you my fave 🎉🖤🖤
Really enjoy your content. Thank you Insym for the great entertainment.
This is the best reactions of Insym I've seen so far what a laughable scaredy reactions he got... just making the whole content more entertaining.

1:25:24 that's the knife from *Summer '58* one of their good horror game. you will found that inside the room where the mother hang herself.
One of my most hated things is getting stuck in game and being able to do it for ages. After a certain amount of time it’s just not fun anymore.
I wonder if collecting the puzzle pieces changes something? Maybe Henry gets out?
I started getting really frustrated when Insym wouldn't look at the door from behind the counter again. We got there in the end.

Insym I want to thank you for the past 3 years that I see you. At good times or bad. Greetings from Greece
Man, watching the part where there's things invisible in the darkness but making scary noises at night before I go to bed... NOT my best idea ever.
This really is just like the movie The Cell. It's such a good movie. But this is sooo similar. Not the characters, but the base line plot.
