Schitt's Creek is by far one of the best comedies on TV in a long time.
I'm from Toronto and I watched the first episode 3 days ago and now i am on season 3 ! It really is one of the only shows that will make you laugh out loud !

when eugene made that face at 6:45 and colbert was trying to hide of his laughter, it shows how good a comedian is when he can make someone laugh with just a facial expression, even i lost it when he made that face
This has been one of my favorite show since it began ! I adored all the characters and how they touched on sensitive topics with an open mind and full acceptance. And soooo funny!!

Blue Skies, I'd have to agree. Being Canadian I was apprehensive at first as we've had hits and misses in sitcoms here for years, with mostly misses. The writing is spot on and every character is hilariously quirky and Annie Murphy is one hot Schitt.

Schitt's Creek is so fucking funny. I know that house on Avenue Road. I went to High School but a few blocks from the house. Part of the opening of SCTV was filmed outside the apartments I lived in near Eglinton Ave. That's makes me a nobody just remembering SCTV fondly. Canadians knock the Schitt out of humour.

Humanless God he’s wrong about why. We weren’t in much better shape during the Great Depression. People with no jobs/money/food having ten kids they could barely feed. Our economy saves us from their fate, our government programs save us from the poverty that having ten kids you can’t support causes. Birth control and jobs keep us safe. The same thing that China forced its people out of poverty with. I grew up hearing “Eat your food, there are starving people in China who would be grateful to have that.” The government stopped the overpopulation problem, and now they’re prospering. The governments of those countries aren’t getting the job done. Too many people and too poor an economy to support that number of them. Not enough easily assessable and cheap birth control. =Poverty

What a adorable man, televisions father (of the 21st century) there is something so fatherly and genuine in eugene levy that is similar to tom hanks persona/personality...he is just sooo genuine in that role! I havent seen the american pie series, but i grew up on cheaper by the dozen and thought he was so good at playing that role...the “dad” role...hes also such a funny comedian...what a genius! (Ps hes the most persian looking none-persian celebrity lol)
You have to see the movie 'American Pie'. I saw it in a theatre in New Zealand while visiting my sister in 1992 - and we just roared laughing all the way through the film. You should also watch 'Best in Show' as Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy play husband and wife in that movie as well - and it's a scream.
My mothers neighbors in farm country were the Schitt's.

Always lots of discussion about why Canada - boring old Canada - produces so many funny people: Levy father and son, Martin Short, Jim Carrey, John Candy, Catherine O'Hara, Norm Macdonald, David Steinberg, Andrea Martin, Samantha Bee, Mike Myers, Lorne Michaels, Seth Rogen, Dan Ackroyd, I could go on and on. I think it is because we are immersed in American culture but not a direct part of it. We get to take a perspective on the craziness that goes on south of the border and not have to buy into it.
Canadians are just naturally funny people who don't take themselves too seriously. That is why they are so funny - as they will poke fun at themselves and do anything for a laugh. We do have the best comedians for sure - and the biggest comedy festival in the world. Recently heard a reference on a British comedy show where the main character excused his less than funny remark with "what do you think I am - Canadian? "

Funny that I had never realized Avenue Rd. was kind of a comedic name until he mentioned it... maybe it's because I passed by the sign of that road on 401 twice a day for the past 10 years.
Funny - I lived off Avenue Road - and never thought anything of it until he mentioned it. There is also a Avenue Road in Richmond Hill.
