    I have been trying to save but with COVID it's just really hard. My savings were wiped out when I traveled to Myanmar and then back to Hong Kong with pumped-up flight ticket prices and 21 days to hotel quarantine both ways. Anyhow, I am surviving. Hope you are too! :)

    I really appreciate you putting out these videos. Studying in Hong Kong is something I have been considering. I feel a bit embarrassed that I'm pushing 40 and never completed an undergraduate degree here in the US, but I've saved enough that I could finally just do it. Have you noticed any older international students studying in HK?
    My career has been in technology (Google, data centers, higher education computing and networking), so I imagine getting into fintech would be ideal, especially if I have intentions of staying in HK.

      Wow Rob, you got an inspiring story there. I've heard of a few of those, but most were doing either masters or phd. I'm pretty sure there are some doing undergrad studies too! Personally I'd love to have someone like you in my class, it would add a lot of opinions and views. Thanks for you comment Rob!

      I would say at least 2A* without any C grades. But this is just an assumption and it depends on many other factors like your extracurriculars, nationality, etc.
      So don't aim for the minimum, try your best and aim for all A*.

    just some details
    As a student, youre allowed to work in the summer from Jun 1 to Aug 31. At least according to my NOL
    Technically, tutoring is illegal, kinda. No one really checks tho
    The subway is and has never been open it is a lie and exists to disappoint people (when you order via foodpanda)
    The 20hr student helper limit is different, its 17.5 hours a week now. Also this is a student visa restriction, not necessarily a student helper restriction.

      Hey is it okay for students to do internship during their school? I don't think I could afford to stay in Hong Kong for summer period but I still want to gain experience, regardless of payment.

    • @ggnore952
      @ggnore952 2 года назад +1

      @@staci9794 I've heard of some companies that pay you in cash when you work during the semester. Besides that, most faculties aside from the Faculty of Engineering do actually give you permission to work with companies (part-time) during the semester). Most students who stay during the summer do so by getting an internship and/or working as an RA, and they do tend to break even by the end of the summer, so I dont think it matters if you personally can afford to stay or not

    Your videos are really helpful. As for me , I'm now preparing my admission to CUHK next year 2022 right now. I'm not clear about that the CUHK accept one student having multiple scholarship types. If they're acceptable ,can I ask other scholar type apart from admission scholar?

      hey! thanks for the kind words keyRL. Yeah there are many other types of scholarships and it'd be a long list. For e.g. Belt and Road scholarshp, external company sponsored scholarships, etc.

      hey that's nice! Good luck to your applications. It doesn't involve a contract and you aren't working for any legal entity. You are only helping out a student and getting compensated for it, so I don't see any problems with it!
