Courtney, when I first met my wife, she was attracted to me for two reasons: One, I had a steady job. Second, I played in a band. But, I promise, it was the music that won her over. For thirty years, she never complained if I spent time recording, playing out, or songwriting. She was a gem.
This is wonderful to hear you found your soulmate. There are tons of ladies who find musicianship attractive but in my experience, very few that truly understand the sacrifices (time away from your partner, finances, opportunity costs on other activities you miss out on, etc) that go with spending the tens of thousands of hours it takes to master your instrument on a professional level. If you compose and record, well that's even more time. Very few women are compatible with our lifestyle and it takes a special one to truly appreciate our creativity and our artistic minds.
@@DuaLeaD Oh so true! My parents grew up in South Bend, Indiana. My Father's parents sold their first home to my Mother's parents. They knew each other all their lives, played games in the park and in the streets. My Father had actually slept in the same bedroom my Mother slept in a few years later. When they got married he told her that his music came first, and she accepted it. He was offered first trumpet to Harry James, but turned it down due to his father getting sick and he had to take care of his mom. Music was his life, and my mother still loved him until the day he passed. They were married 50 years! Now, here I am taking care of my Mother. ;^)
Important things as well: 0:45 First thing - Well - Rounded Individual; 1:24 Second thing - Skill Set And Lifelong Learner; 2:47 (thank you so much for your support Courtney); 4:17 Third thing - You Are Passionate; 6:12 (so true about hobby - you can meet new people as well); and 14:10 to summarize all the told here. Hobbies: 8:25 Playing A Musical Instrument; 8:36 Cooking Or Baking; 8:50 Traveling And Exploring New Places; 9:06 Fitness and Exercise; 10:02 Reading And Learning New Things; 10:18 Photography And Art; 10:38 Outdoor Activity; 11:25 Volunteering And Giving Back To The Community; 12:06 Dancing Or Other Forms Of Creative Expression; 13:22 Playing Sports Or Being Physically Active. I agree that hobbies can make us feel better as well. Also I agree that the tastes are not discussed (meaning that hobbies are not discussed, cause some people like different hobbies). My hobby is mostly doing model kits. Also my channel is dedicated to hobby model kits as well (if you are interested, you can check it out). I even had a chance to meet some people that are interested in that hobby, although we are from different countries. Also I had a chance to meet some women that are interested in doing model kits as well. Even some of them once asked me what type of model kit airplane, helicopter, tank, or car is it, and I have explained it. Besides doing model kits, I sometimes play guitar. Beside's doing model kits, and playing guitar I collect some Lego's that are interesting to me as well. And even some women are doing Lego's as well (believe it or not). Also I even had a chance to meet them. Although there were differences, they accepted me for who am I. I also like playing PC games, but sometimes cause of the obligations that I have, I don't play them that much often. I just have to finish my master degree on faculty, and I'll see to next things as well. But I hope if I'm in luck that I will return to my hobbies. For Lego's I always wanted to make of Lego movie when I was a little child. I saw one Lego set with camera in it, but it was so expensive. And that was before You Tube, social media. What were only there were MS DOS operative system, and 386 computers. And when You Tube started, I decided to make firstly one Lego video, when was also a start of mobile phones with cameras. And that's how I decided to do the things that I started from my childhood. I even saw one quote as well which goes like this: "The greatest man always remains a child." Meaning you always have your childhood goals, and also wishes that you want to achieve, but still to behave with the ages. But the most important thing is to find a hobby, or hobbies that are giving us joy, fulfillment, and happiness. I would like to ask all of you this question: How many people here do hobby modeling?
I'm not into modeling, but I feel exactly the type of enthusiasm Courtney was talking about. It's really sexy, regardless of gender. I, for one, love modern world history. It's a sad, bloody, gritty story with lots of spoilers. Most of the girls I've met have told me: History is so boring. It's boring if you can't tell it. It's boring if all you can see under the word history is a bunch of unrelated years. I can't wait to meet a girl who can tell me: You're right, this really isn't boring." I wish you as many great models as possible that will both entertain and challenge you. :)
@@marclefleur6158 Of course dear friend. The important thing is what do you feel when you show interests in hobby, or hobbies. Thinking of course on some of my future models as well. But first, priorities to be solved. P.S. Thank you for your support pal 🙃🙂.
I turned my music hobby into a job. I’m serving in the Marine Corps band. I’ve been playing my instrument since the 6th grade. I’ve been to so many places all over the world because of it. Finding a woman that appreciates what your into is a plus. I enjoyed this video Courtney, hobbies do make men more attractive. It’s definitely a conversation starter.
Fitness is the best hobby. There are so many downstream effects that women will find attractive. Your brain will work better, your confidence will be better, and that will improve your ability to hold an engaging conversation which is how people will judge your personality. She will like you better as a person, in addition to liking your forearms.
Guys, just remember that unless the woman finds you to be physically attractive, absolutely none of these "hobbies" will matter. I have had the majority of those boxes checked for decades but it only mattered to the women who found me to be physically attractive. To add, crappy women will dig your activities at first but then come to resent them as they require time away from them and might bring attention from others.
This guy gets it. Like your hobby at first, then see it as a threat that must be quashed the first time it takes $$$ or attention away from her. For many women anyway.
Let me also add that the "intellectualism is sexy" position many women take is bullshit. The reason they say this is that it is a quality that they feel they have within themselves. Just take a look at the men that they jump in bed with and are often in relationships with. Most of the time, these men are stupid. Sometimes noticeably so. This isn't a mistake. Women pride themselves with being the smarter one in the relationship. They might not say it but they think it and know it. When they end up in a relationship with a man who is more intellectual than them or smarter than them or more knowledgeable than them in most everything it sends them for a loop. They don't like it. If they did, every nerd on earth would be getting laid.
Exactly. Someone who looks like Henry Cavill reading quietly in a corner or playing WoW seems much less weird to women than the average loner only because of the halo effect
I agree with having a passion. Surfing & music has been a part of my life since I was very young. I'm a working musician that makes the time to surf when there's waves and just following my heart has given me countless opportunities with relationships & friendships.
Cooking, gardening, working out, hiking, martial arts, playing music, stock trading to name a few are the things I've found that give me peace. Stuff that used to be seen as corny in some circles, are in high demand in others. My girlfriend wants to help me plant flowers around the house. A breath of fresh air really
My pride and joy is my road trip playlist on my iPad. I love searching and adding new songs to it. The sky is the limit but currently it is over 1,300 songs and approximately 88 hours long. I love it.
The shareability of a hobby, and the money spent on it (and later to her), are the keys to this topic. Most of these are status activities that are basically dating ideas and a show of resources.
Totally untrue. Every guy i know who's married or in a relationship practically have to beg to do their hobby. They get it as an award every now and then after they finished her list of a thousand things he has to do first
@@Bennysol I hope Courtney sorted you out on that Benny. I'd say, only selfish women who are insecure and demand all their partners' time are the ones you refer too.
G’day Courtney. I know you are engaged and I say this with all due respect to you and your fiancé. Not only are you a beautiful young lady, you are a beautiful person. I’ve been following your channel for a while now and I believe that the advice you give is helpful to so many men around the world. I congratulate you and look forward to hearing whatever content you put out. Take care
@@CourtneyRyan today because of what you said and because I'm beaming out (people just come talk to me) I sense a beautiful, beautiful VIBE coming from you. Namaste, as they say :) Cheers from Paris
Courtney you're a legend. So many of these mens help channels on YT just feel so toxic and like to make you feel inadequate in order to sell you things. You have to take everything they say with a pinch of salt because you know they are talking nonsense. And you just click on one of those things and the algorithm just fills your feed with them. With you it feels different. I trust what you say and it feels genuine and I don't feel shitty after watching your videos. Thank you for everything you are doing. Alex
Even though she's quite redundant and a LOT of her advice isn't all that great. It's coming from a young city girl's perspective and is very targeted to a specific demographic (which is basically 20something year old yuppies).
they love passionate men only if every other single box is checked off. Girls don't find 1 particular thing attractive unless all the other requirements are met first such as being physically attractive and financially attractive with money
My passion is filming landscapes with a drone, but I don't anymore because I work two jobs to pay my tuition fees and have enough money to ask a girl out. Taking so many things into account to be attractive sometimes makes me feel overwhelmed.
I'm in my early thirties and since I was a teenager I have been working on self-improvement. It's nice to be ahead of the herd in that I can help people since people are starting to get irritated with people that think they're perfect because they were told that growing up and see no need to better themselves. I would rather her progress forward than remain stale
That’s why I hate following the phrase “Be yourself” blindly It’s not fully wrong but it doesn’t mean you stop evolving. The full meaning of it I believe is “be the best version of yourself”
@@masanobuyamamoto6395 II think it means change around other people and ditch you're friends for better ones. Then dump your girlfriend everytime you want to bone someone else. That's the blueprint
I'm an opera singer by day, and a singer songwriter by night. BELIEVE ME when I say that if you think that successfully singing and playing gets you women ... you're right. It does.
Hello,Courtney. Unfortunately, I have been a like-long railway enthusiast and railway modeller, and I can assure you that here in the UK that is a huge turn-off to 99% of women. In fact if I'm asked how I spend my time, I often say 'with the hobby that dare not speak its name'. It can also cost you a job at interviews. I believe the US has a different view and often sees the hobby in terms of the ability to plan and see a project through to the finish.
I hear ya! I used to do ww2 reenacting. I’m actually going to an event next week for the first time in 10 years. I have an interest in old railroads and airlines. My airline collection is fairly large. I got into restoring old computers during the Covid shutdowns which I continue to do today. I love researching which comes with hobbies, interest, and collecting. I’m creating an informational poster based on historic research I’ve been doing about my hometown which I’m presenting in mid-June. None of these are turn ons. It sounds like we need to be woodworkers or something.
My uncle is WAY big into it and has a happy marriage to my Aunt! Not his main point of marketing, but it's not an detraction if you have other stuff going on that they find attractive :)
My last ex-girlfriend hates it when I go to the gym and even to my martial arts dojo, but during our date, I warned her about my personal routines and enjoyments and she was fine with it in the beginning, but as the relationship grew in time, her attitude change. Glad I'm not with her anymore, but one day, I hope to meet a girl that shares my same passion in working out and travelling as well. Excellent video Courtney...Keep it up!!
I was always interested in storytelling and filmmaking. Couldn’t follow it because I wasn’t courageous enough and got no support when I was young. After earning a bachelors degree in Physiotherapy, I finally got the time to learn basics about filmmaking and storytelling through RUclips and internet. Made a short film in 2021 but now got caught up with work and studying to earn a doctorate degree because of which can’t get time to write. Recently have started to work on my fitness now and going to gym 5 times a week. I think if I make myself physically fit, I can make time by working more harder and efficiently to earn money and follow my passion as well.
I've noticed that you always have your nails done, its such a underrated thing but its beyond attractive to me. I wish more women put getting their nails done in their list of priorities.
I can absolutely confirm this. I have tons of super niche hobbies (homelabbing, photography, blender, electronics tinkering, etc...) and people are always interested in talking to me about them. I recently got into Seiko watch modding/making/repair and my friends and family constantly ask me if I can make a watch for them. I honestly don't think guys should be shy about sharing their hobbies. It doesn't matter how nerdy it is, it makes you more interesting. Just pick up on her vibe though. If she looks bored, stop talking about your gundam collection.
As someone who has a large collection of Gundam/Sci-Fi model kits and Lego, I feel called out (jokes of course). I do feel like certain "mainstream" hobbies (dance, playing instruments, athletics, gardening, etc.) are an "easier sell" to most people, because most people will respond positively when you mention them. It can be rather disheartening when mentioning your hobby (building model kits in my case) gets you disinterest and mild disappointment instead of curiosity & approval. Sometimes I even feel like my own friends are disappointed in my choice of hobbies. As saddening as this can be, I do agree that it is vital to watch how people respond to your hobbies. As Courtney mentioned, hobbies are for us, and if we aren't having fun then what's the point? Additionally, it can be miserable to be around someone who constantly disapproves of your hobbies & interests. A person's reactions should be used to gauge whether or not you want to proceed with this person, depending on how passionate you are about the hobby in question. It can also be a sign to start branching out of your comfort zone and pick up new hobbies. My apologies for the essay, but I did want to add my 2 cents to this discussion. Ultimately, I will most likely continue to enjoy my hobbies, and continue searching for someone who can share in them with curiosity and passion, as I would do for them.
Hi Courtney, you're absolutely right! Hobbies expand ones mind like you won't believe. Mine are travel and photography. They have nothing to do w/ women or trying to impress them because I work in a very high stress environment. I noticed that my stress/cortisol level is near 0 when I'm in a creative mindset trying to capture that days sunset or create a portrait shot. Same goes for when I'm traveling. Example: Grand Tetons NP and/or Yosemite NP.
I'm a 57 yr old married guy. I've always been artistic. I could draw and design. Then, in school I was a percussionist and a drummer in marching band. I tried sports and was ok but, not gifted. That fell by the wayside. I joined the Army and became a helicopter pilot as a career. Married high-school sweetheart. Had two kids. Marriage lasted 13 yrs. 1.5 yrs later met new wife. Changed careers into federal law enforcement flying and moved to Puerto Rico. Got interested in artistic local opportunities, making ceramics with wife, paper mache masks. Learned stilt walking. Blended the mask making and stilt walking into a Halloween costume. Transferred back stateside to northern NY. Became a pipeband drummer for a local pipeband and a pipeband and honor guard member for my work. Took up skiing in the winter. Volunteered as a safety patrol guy on the mountain. Always did small art projects as need arose. Learned to fly multiple helos and fixed-wing aircraft. Traveled to China with wife to adopt a 4 yr old special needs boy. Transferred to FL. Flew new aircraft. Building a WW1 biplane in my garage. Became a fix-it man tackling home projects. Really into Halloween home haunt prop-making. Attended a latex mask making workshop in TX. Created a special effects werewolf costume on jumping stilts! Joined Army National Guard. Retired from law enforcement job. I play in a neighborhood garage band quarterly for fun. I want to get started in leather working but I don't have the time! 2nd marriage of 20+ yrs is going strong! I can't imagine not having hobbies! 😅
That part about girls saying they don't mind the Dad bod because they themselves don't like the gym is sooo true !! Lol love the realness. Thank you for saying it ! Best version of somebody entails being the most healthy version of themselves too.
My hobbies are tennis, piano, and languages. Sometimes I wish I could do other things because I’m a lifelong learner but my time only allows for these three
Curiosity and desire to learn are definitely sexy traits. It makes for good conversations too. My husband's hobbies include music. It's definitely the hottest thing when he just randomly starts playing the piano or gets the violin out. It's like another way of communicating for him and I love it ❤
I assume your husband was the one who pursued you and asked you out, just being sarcastic and speaking of my lifelong resentment of men always been expected to court women and make the first move
@@nobodysperfect06 we met at a gathering, liked eachother and started dating soon after that. No one pursued or chased because no one was running away lol

I play Russian steel tongue drums for yoga classes in my city, unfortunately I don't have women ready to jump my bones because they're either afraid of me or they're a feminist
While my hobbies have always been drawing, writing and drawing, my biggest one is going to the gym. Recently, at work, I got so popular with the ladies that I got several of them saying "hi" to me and wink at me. Some even laugh and blush after I complimented them. Even on social media and, sometimes, public, I'm somewhat noticable. I truly believe my honesty, confidence, kindness and intelligence made me somewhat attractive. However, I never let my popularity get in my head 24/7... other than the fact I used it to get girls. Overall, sometimes, it feels really good to be noticed.
My primary passion is music. I live, breathe, and sleep Rock & Roll. I’m a multi-instrumentalist, mainly a guitar player and a singer and I lead a rock band which is the biggest thing I’m proud of. A close second to that is I’m also an Actor/Thespian. I recently went back to school to study theater and I have been thriving in this field as well! The connecting tissue with those is that I’m just passionate about performing, both music and theater. Outside that, hobbies that interest me include cooking, comedy, following baseball, politics, traveling, music production, and many more! Great vid, Courtney! Your vids are huge part of my story :)
For me it's coin collecting its simple, it's fun to find one you've been searching years for, and they make for a nice display in the living room or even a great conversation starter.
14:28 Thanks for that caveat because none of my hobbies directly made the list. Oh well, I do enjoy what I do but it's not been popular with gals around here. I design and build inventions and stuff from all kinds of materials and restore cars. Never found a gal that wanted to take part in my life but I've got plenty of things I can do that otherwise provide fulfillment
I’m turning 38 next month and I’ve been accepting that my hobbies and interest are what will continue to fill my life moving forward. I have been going to the gym but I don’t like it. I like the results, but I don’t like going so I can’t call it a hobby.
Is napping a hobby? In all seriousness, during Covid, my wife wouldn't let me go the gym which I loved to do. Even after getting vaccinated and boosted she didn't want me going to the gym still. So I switched to running as a hobby because I was in the house pretty much 24/7. Then she said it was too dangerous to be running at the park. Then I started running in the neighborhood. Then she said it was too dark. Then I bought a light you attach to your waist and a reflector vest too. I looked like I was landing planes at the airport going for a simple run. She said it wasn't enough. I ran during the day and almost had a heat stroke (I live in Florida). I eventually stopped running altogether. I was frankly a simp. Sometimes, it's never enough. We're in the process of divorcing after many other ridiculous fights as well. Make sure who you spend your time with someone who understands you most of all.
My passiions 1. I run a sports meetup group where people can play sports. I did this to help people who want to stay in shape. 2. I play in an adult softball league. 3. I am an author. I consider this a passion because it doesn't give me much income. 4. I surf. Edit: Cooking is a hobby? I can cook. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Breakfast would probably be the best meal though. Good at making eggs and turkey.
Good to know because I do cooking, reading, outdoor activities, traveling, some photography, and work out regularly. I have also played sports when I've had time. Thank you!
I wish there were more women with your sense, approach, & logic. I admire this about you. And Im a guy whos now very weary, after divorce, so that says a lot.
@@CourtneyRyan Another helpful Courtney video, thanks!
WORD of ADVICE: For those men and women that still have moms who cook, have her teach you. It is a great way to connect with her as an adult, and when the inevitable happens you will have the skills to make all of your favorite foods from growing up. I waited too late, and my mom no longer had the patience to teach, so there are only a few dishes I can make, and I will forever miss those I can’t: especially, my cherry birthday pie…
Hobbies:
Photography I started this hobby in the fourth grade (so nearly 50 years ago), with a 126mm film camera, my best friend at the time taught ourselves how to develop and print out own pictures. I took photography in high school and college and was on the yearbook staff my senior year of high school. Sadly, I was ready for college, I had a bit of growing up to do, but I did and went back 20 years later and completed my AA degree in Photography. I was the first one at that college to receive that degree; prior it would have been an AA in Art, with an emphasis in Photography.
Acrylic Painting For a few months I had been watching RUclips video on acrylic pouring, but never thought about actually doing it. However, when my mom was placed on hospice the clergy that came by suggested I needed a hobby to release the 24/7 stress of caring for her and my dad. I’d put them to bed and go out to garage and created a painting or two a few nights of the week. It helped a lot. I still enjoy it, though just not as often. I’ll make one today though.
Art & Design has always been my passion, being right-brained is something worth having & having this drive of being relentlessly creative with on how to approach things by putting your own twist on it, appears to be more rare than common in this modern age.
Same passion here. I think at least part of the reason why it's lowered as much as it has might have to do with how standardised a lot of jobs are these days. I know I had just about 0 creative freedom in a job where I was still producing something (floorplans for realtors etc. in Skethup/Photoshop) because everything was specifically tailored and the process was set in stone years before I got employed, no matter how efficient new ideas/approaches might've been. It practically felt like working a digital assembly line. Working long hours in a cubicle all day and then going home to a fairly sedentary hobby didn't help with energy levels or balancing art with daily excercise either, so I think general fatigue may play a big part in it aswell for a lot of people, especially a couple of years down the line.
As for my hobbies, I love sports and music (the only two categories I can help my trivia team out with lol). I work in an athletic department and write stories for our website, among a bunch of other things. I also like creating RUclips highlight videos of my sports teams...
Here are all of my hobbies and I truly enjoy these: 1) Writing - This is, by a mile, my favorite of all of my hobbies. I have been writing since 2010 when I was finishing up my senior year in high school and have written a total of 13 books since and have self-published 12 of them. Most of which are on Amazon. 2) Content making - I have this RUclips channel which is a reaction/review channel mostly dedicated to metal music. I also have another RUclips channel called Fallout Freak where I talk about anything and everything related to the Fallout video game series. 3) Exercising - I have a leg workout, an abdominal workout, and an upper body workout that I do each day ever since January of last year and it has done wonders for my body and mind. 4) Watching sports - I love watching all sports. College basketball is my favorite sport to watch out of all of them and March Madness is like a second Christmas to me. 5) Reading - I read a total of 11 novels last year. I am a huge Stephen King fan. I am into horror and that is the majority of what I write genre-wise. I am only on my 2nd novel this year, but that is because I was writing my 13th book at the time and when I write, I don't read. 6) Playing video games - Go back to my 2nd hobby and you will see that I absolutely LOVE the Fallout video game series. Honestly, I love video games in general. My favorite video games I would have to say are Bethesda video games: Fallout series, Elder Scrolls series, Wolfenstein series, DOOM series, Dishonored series and so many more. Along with so many other video games from so many other publishers. 7) Collecting things - A better question would be what do I not collect? I collect: sports cards, Pokemon cards, Fallout Vault Boy bobbleheads, Funko Pops, video games, Stephen King books, my own books that I write, shot glasses, and unique and rare coins. What do you think about all of these hobbies? Hopefully this list will be attractive to someone I meet one day.
About point number one, if you are well-rounded, you can use that to fix labor shortages in your field of work (depends on what it is). It also compliments point number two quite well.
My passions lay with heavy machinery by operation them and fixing them. That’s why I love to work with old classic construction machinery and fix them up in my free time. Besides that I totally love everything that’s dark, like taxidermy and skulls ‘n stuff
This ONLY applies if she's attracted to you. Women today have become so insanely shallow that NO amount of hobbies or volunteering will change her mind. Just like no amount of being a boss babe or having 500 usless degrees will change a man's mind about how hot he thinks you are.
There is also the issue of compatibility when choosing a partner. Attraction and compatibility is complex and people don't have to be in relationships anymore and women don't have to do it to survive and so of course they will be more picky.
I'd say the more hobbies and interests, the better the man. Not saying you should have so many hobbies that you lose count, but being interested in the many things that life has to offer shows you're someone with a zest for life which seems rare a very robotic society where everyone seems dead inside.
The dancing thing is true. Back when I got strongarmed by my friends to go to my first festival a decade ago in my early twenties, I had no confidence, no style, barely any social skills, never talked to women. However I did know how to shuffle pretty well (idk why I learned this skill I just thought it looked cool and really got into it by myself), and that was the first time in my life women had approached me with genuine interest. My friends even said they were proud of me. Retelling this makes it seem chessy as hell, but it genuinely made me happy. I think they knew my struggle was real lol. That experience was the catalyst to break out of my shell, actually start caring about what I wear, and started going out, and becoming more social with people. It's not a hyperbole to say it was a life changing experience for me.
Skiing is my hobby, passion and lifestyle. When out of season, I spend a lot of time outdoors and working out. Overall I am a very physically active guy and only date like-minded women. It’s amazing how many lady skiers are out there and they also have an interest in staying fit year-round.
Animation is my latest hobby. I recently started a webcomic series and want to turn it into short animation clips. Making at least one person smile per piece of content is my main goal. I also like to occasionally paint (it's so damn therapeutic), lift weights, and sometimes cook.
I like this one a lot because I'm a hobby guy skiing, making beats, etc... however, when I'm with women for a longer period of time, let's say over 2 months, I noticed that they became somewhat more needy for attention when I was spending time on hobbies. Women who support their man's hobbies as long as they are productive and healthy are extremely attractive! The ones who don't get needy and whiny for a man's time when he's doing something he loves!
Fixing cars has got to be number one. Any hobby or interest where your woman doesn't have to consult another man is the best kind of hobby/skillset/interest you could have.
#1 reason has been left unsaid - it grounds you and let's you productively focus your masculine energy away from the frustration of online dating. A good, physically and/or mentally challenging hobby is essential to getting rid of the scarcity/thirst mindset and behaviors.
I have a nice collection of hobbies and interests. The funny thing is that woman complain that I have "too many" hobbies and interests and not enough time to simp for them😂
I gained more respect for painting, when I learned how to paint as the same for cooking and playing the guitar and violin educating yourself on something can give you that side of the perspective and understanding and when you see others do it you don’t just see it from the outside you see it from the inside too just getting started on something mentally can be the hard part learning to love it, and dedicate time to it can create love, confidence and happiness, and attract those of the same qualities and even if it doesn’t depending on where you live it’s still good to love it for yourself, because that in and of itself can shape you
Summary: 1. Playing a musical instrument 2. Cooking or baking 3. Traveling and exploring new places 4. Fitness and exercise 5. Reading and learning new things 6. Photography and art (creativity) 7. Outdoor activities (hiking, camping, skiing) 8. Volunteering and having a sense of community 9. Dancing (showing good rythym) 10. Playing sports Here are a few more that I'll share/follow up on: Playing board/card games; a game night is a great way to spend time and share some laughs. Plus, having a little fun competition can spice things up! Learning a new language. Mastering the basics not only demonstrates intelligence, but it can be handy in the real world. There are plenty of free online resources like Duolingo! Craftsmanship (carpentry, mechanics, etc.) Knowing how to fix or build something is something some women find attractive.
@@Harrock you just be tired and don't complain about it. Hobbies are for people with disposable income. They make nothing and cost a lot. Most women don't care about the hobby. Just that you have disposable time and income
@@Harrock like anything in life, it's all about MAKING the time. Start by looking at hobbies (not necessarily all the ones listed above) that are feasible with your work schedule.
Having hobbies and interests is attractive because it shows that you have something going on in your life. Me personally, I wouldn’t want to be with a woman that has nothing going on in her life. If she likes going on hikes, I like that or if she likes to workout, I like that also.
Hobbies I've had over the years: Reading, Video Games, Guitar, Photography, Camping, Hiking, LEGO, Model Railroading, Action/Anime Figure Collecting, Cosplaying (including with the 501st Legion). If that doesn't scream introverted nerd, then I don't know what does, lol. There are definitely women out there who dig that stuff, but in my experience they are uncommonly on dating apps. Seems like most of them want to go to the beach, go to concerts, go traveling, taste wine, or eat tacos and drink margaritas.
Thanks for the video Courtney! For me I’ve been into life drawing, running, reading, learning piano and new dance steps. Usually if I can share at least one, or two hobbies with my girlfriend our bond is stronger. Ping pong matches are a big one for my gf and I! I agree it’s important to have your own independent interests too, and respect each other for one another’s authentic passions.
Gonna share a life-changing hobby I got into recently that might be a good idea for some people to try if they are not sure what to try or if they're just looking for suggestions. In February I went rock climbing for the first time, and about an hour in, I was hooked. A couple days later I went and bought my own gear and got a membership, $65 (Canadian) a month. I turned 30 this year, and because of rock climbing, my mental health has never been higher over my adult life. I've found that the majority of people are looking for more people to climb with, so it's a great way to meet people and have a sense of community. It's a great reason to get out of the house and be active, because it's so much fun. I was thinking of starting to go to the gym, but just lifting weights has never appealed to me. However, rock climbing is like a full body workout (mostly upper body though) depending on what you're climbing. I also feel so comfortable in the gym, so I've been more willing to use some of the weightlifting equipment there. The sense of accomplishment when progressing through harder and harder climbs is so fulfilling too, and it's even better when the friends that you have made at that gym, are seeing your improvement and congratulating you. Going climbing is just a habit now, usually 3 times a week, and any break of 3 days or more, (some is necessary to let your hands heal) and I am just itching to get back on the walls and climbing. And for any guys looking to meet a potential partner, I was shocked at how many girls love rock climbing. On an average day, it's usually like 50-50 for girls to guys in my gym, and the girls that go climbing are usually in-shape, very friendly from what I've experienced, and just overall beautiful people. It's also so easy to talk to them because talking about climbing routes is a great, yet simple conversation starter. I've also seen a lot of people that aren't in-shape, but what matters is that they are out climbing walls, working hard, and having a lot of fun at the same time, and that's really nice to see too. For me, rock climbing has improved my mental health, physical health, gets me out of the house, gets me being active every week, allows me to meet people and make friends, and really is so much fun, all for $65 a month. What more could you want from a hobby? Highly recommend you give it a try if you want to get into a new activity. And thank you Courtney for making such relevant, helpful, and honest content. Cheers :)
I love rock climbing, and I'm very happy for you that you found something you enjoy so much. Small tip though, use your legs more than your arms. Its an easy temptation to just pull yourself up, but use your legs when you can. You'll see enormous improvements. Just a tip I learned out in Colorado. I warn you though, your calves will hate you.
I absolutely love planes and aviation. Its sad but i could go to the airport and watch them all day, but my girlfriend loves the fact the i have that passion towards something in life that can light up my face, she's said how attractive it is when i tell her how certain parts work with the theory behind it, and how driven i am to pursue my dream career. She's got no interest in planes and I'm sure it bores the crap out of her but she just enjoys how my hobby gets me. I find it a little embarrassing and would of thought its a huge turn off personally but a few people have said about its nice i have a genuine passion for something in life that I'm driven towards.
Well, since you asked: My hobbies are always of an artistic nature: Drawing, writing (stories and screenplays), live action Role-play, and Metalwork (need a sword, armor, or other metal crafts, I'm your Blacksmith). My more recent hobbies are studying the occult and practicing new forms of magick, and typically conjuring spirits for assistance. Though through those practices, I now got into dancing, mostly Shamanism fire dancing, so I'm confident in my dancing skills and hope to find someone who loves the outdoors as well as indoors. I'm also diving into more artistic hobbies and see if I can improve in the other areas I lacked. Singing is the more recent one, so hopefully I'll amend my vocals.
Developing interests makes you well rounded as a person and it shows women that they have other things going on in their life.....i love to read, i listen to all kinds of music; i like to travel and watch foreign and independent films ; lately, i've been getting into art and photography...don't use your hobbies to get women; use them because they are thing you truly enjoy doing them....
I like playing music and singing/making music. Also drawing because I'm going to start a webcomic. But I struggle to and often don't talk about it as much as I'd like because I can just go on and on and I don't want to make it my whole personality. I want to find that right balance. I don't want to whip out a guitar second date like my brother did with his now wife 😅
Dancing - if you guys do not ever want to be lonely again learn to dance. When I was a lot younger I learned how to swing dance, a little salsa some 2 step and a little ball room. I'm a good dancer not a great dancer. I took lessons but now there's so much material on RUclips. I met my wife this way. We like live music she has a lot of single friends and they all end up dancing with me because there's no other guys out there that know how to dance. And they don't care what you look like as long as you can lead them. It's the one situation left in this world where men are expected to lead a woman and you actually get to touch them physically (Not inappropriately of course) but it does help to create a great connection. Learn how to dance fellows You won't regret it.
Depends on the hobbies/passion. If they deem the passion too nerdy or niche, they are a turn off. But that's more of a reflection of them than yourself.
I'm 36 in November. I'm a devout minimalist, I'm a motorcycle enthusiast, I try to learn languages for fun, I go to gym for general strength but not a ripped body, I try my best to adhere to judo christian ideology and I try to be an informed individual. I grew up with an undiagnosed mentally ill father who belligerently opposed the suggestion that he was sick. My father is intelligent but he is also a man child. My mother is his cook, his cleaner, his accountant and his counsellor. I spent the last 15 years getting on top of my mental health. I'm a self diagnosed alcoholic who will be sober 12 years this December. Psychiatrists have diagnosed me with rapid cycle bipolar disorder and aspergers syndrome. Since my 30th birthday in 2017, I put in so much effort to become a better human. I do feel sexually attracted to women but the most important thing I can do is be the best person that I can be. I honestly don't know how to treat people because my family is really toxic. It's like I have left a cult. I'm holding my job down, I'm managing my finances, I'm doing my very best to maintain my health even though I am shift worker and i have hobbies. It's interesting that middle age men like me have more social leverage than middle age women. I was rejected alot by women when I was in my 20s. Now I am finding myself rejecting women not because I am cruel but because I am keep seeing red flags in these women. I'm breaking my paternal curse/legacy. I really don't want to subject a female that I care about to my overbearing mother. Above all, I don't want to take a woman emotional hostage the way my father did my mother.
womens hobbies: 1- looking at their smartphone. 2- nagging on men 3- looking at their smartphone. 4- critisizing men 5- looking at their smartphone. 6- telling men what they do wrong when it comes to women. 7- looking at their smartphone. 8 - shopping and bying a new smartphone. 9- rediculing men on their new smartphone
Also y’all women love to teach! I am learning how to line dance at the moment and one of the girl’s I am dating was met though line dancing! New skills always help y’all!
Argentinian Tango, Chen style Taijiquan, philosophy, social science, world literature, foreign languages, foreign travel. Hoping to find time to learn classical guitar and Salsa.
Usually after the gym session I just head to the barnes and nobles and read a book for a bit. But I also play the piano, run, fence, and cook. And once every month I volunteer. It just depends though on the woman who is interested in you. Most of my time reading is usually about the body because of running plus im in a graduate program for prosthetics and AI so Im reading about medicine. I love learning my entire life has been adapting and learning new sports or skills. Went from dominating swimming, to then running, then dominated in fencing. Next goal is for triathlons but again I can have all these things but it depends on what women want. My ex hated though that I never spent enough time with her but I used to spend every weekend I wasnt competing with her. Lot of people need attention so just remember hobbies can take you places and further yourself as a person.
My hobbies are cycling (at least 100km per week) and as a result i've become a bit of a bike tech nerd!! I also have a podcast and volunteer at my local community radio station, as well as doing a little bit of YT.
Now, here I am taking care of my Mother. ;^)
I do also play guitar in two swing bands, so probably not cool enough
*Having hobbies not only makes you more interesting, but it also helps build a connection based on shared interests, which is incredibly attractive!*

Thanks for the break down.
@@Siel-bm7gx You're welcome.
I can't wait to meet a girl who can tell me: You're right, this really isn't boring."
I wish you as many great models as possible that will both entertain and challenge you. :)
@@marclefleur6158 Of course dear friend.
The important thing is what do you feel when you show interests in hobby, or hobbies.
Thinking of course on some of my future models as well. But first, priorities to be solved.
P.S. Thank you for your support pal 🙃🙂.
So basically men gotta do all of this and yall just sick back n chill😂
I turned my music hobby into a job. I’m serving in the Marine Corps band. I’ve been playing my instrument since the 6th grade. I’ve been to so many places all over the world because of it. Finding a woman that appreciates what your into is a plus. I enjoyed this video Courtney, hobbies do make men more attractive. It’s definitely a conversation starter.
Thank you for your service!!!!!!!
What an honour working in such a great field of work, salute to you man
Fitness is the best hobby. There are so many downstream effects that women will find attractive. Your brain will work better, your confidence will be better, and that will improve your ability to hold an engaging conversation which is how people will judge your personality. She will like you better as a person, in addition to liking your forearms.
As if some guy with a pompous troll account on RUclips goes to the gym. I'm willing to bet you just sit at your computer all day.

Is that a hobby?
Guys, just remember that unless the woman finds you to be physically attractive, absolutely none of these "hobbies" will matter. I have had the majority of those boxes checked for decades but it only mattered to the women who found me to be physically attractive. To add, crappy women will dig your activities at first but then come to resent them as they require time away from them and might bring attention from others.
This guy gets it. Like your hobby at first, then see it as a threat that must be quashed the first time it takes $$$ or attention away from her. For many women anyway.
Someone who gets it.
The most reasonable comment out here bro
I like how u explain the scenario and then give a real life example of how it applies afterward. Very educational stuff you are sharing Courtney.
Totally untrue. Every guy i know who's married or in a relationship practically have to beg to do their hobby. They get it as an award every now and then after they finished her list of a thousand things he has to do first

Even though she's quite redundant and a LOT of her advice isn't all that great. It's coming from a young city girl's perspective and is very targeted to a specific demographic (which is basically 20something year old yuppies).
Women certainly love passionate men. Have you ever noticed how women light up staring at you while you are focused on something else? Exactly
I often see my girl stare at me when I talk about skydiving or cliff jumping. She says she likes how my eyes light up.
they love passionate men only if every other single box is checked off. Girls don't find 1 particular thing attractive unless all the other requirements are met first such as being physically attractive and financially attractive with money
No
My passion is filming landscapes with a drone, but I don't anymore because I work two jobs to pay my tuition fees and have enough money to ask a girl out.
That’s why I hate following the phrase “Be yourself” blindly

What is college even for
If you make a film about your grad school journey, it will have a small but very interested audience. Good luck with your program, persistence is key!
That’s crazy I got all kinds of hobbies and I hate talking to people who ask
That's awesome. I have a Seiko braille watch. They make some very nice stuff. I'd never heard of hobbiest watch repair. That's genuinely fascinating.
It’s completely fine because it’s still a hobby afterall, everybody’s got different tastes

Great vid, Courtney! Your vids are huge part of my story :)
Loved the way you said “be real” when talking about women who like a guy with a dad body
Going to the gym, writing lyrics, and going to comedy shows & concerts are some of my favorite hobbies
"My wife wouldn't let me go to the gym" lololol ...

My passiions
Hey RB, knock it off with "I", you sound like a salesman.
cooking is life skill that everyone should learn, not really a hobby
Awesome post and topic to discuss..its important to be you. Never change your habits for anyone.
Morning Courtney, I hope you’ve had a wonderful week
You too my friend!
@@CourtneyRyan Another helpful Courtney video, thanks!
WORD of ADVICE:
For those men and women that still have moms who cook, have her teach you.
Hobbies:
Photography
I started this hobby in the fourth grade (so nearly 50 years ago), with a 126mm film camera, my best friend at the time taught ourselves how to develop and print out own pictures.
Acrylic Painting
For a few months I had been watching RUclips video on acrylic pouring, but never thought about actually doing it.
I always like learning new things and i'm Willing to learn and i'm always curious!
Here are all of my hobbies and I truly enjoy these:
1) Writing - This is, by a mile, my favorite of all of my hobbies.
Thanks Courtney for another great video! My hobbies are aviation (flying), photography, and woodworking.
Guitar for me is definitely a passion, even chasing down certain album tones like Ride the Lightning.
Never knew women would be so into my stamp collection 😍
My passions lay with heavy machinery by operation them and fixing them.
That’s why I love to work with old classic construction machinery and fix them up in my free time.
Besides that I totally love everything that’s dark, like taxidermy and skulls ‘n stuff
It’s about having passion……..for something
This ONLY applies if she's attracted to you. Women today have become so insanely shallow that NO amount of hobbies or volunteering will change her mind. Just like no amount of being a boss babe or having 500 usless degrees will change a man's mind about how hot he thinks you are.
You ain’t wrong there
She is all BS. She knows and all women know, it's about the coins. She will never talk to a broke man. Never!!!!!
Broke men are fucking girls that are prob dating some guys w money. If you have a mouth peice you can get girls any guy can do it
There is also the issue of compatibility when choosing a partner. Attraction and compatibility is complex and people don't have to be in relationships anymore and women don't have to do it to survive and so of course they will be more picky.
@@sarcodonblue2876 I mean I’m pretty sure everybody is picky to an extent with this stuff, it only makes sense
I'd say the more hobbies and interests, the better the man. Not saying you should have so many hobbies that you lose count, but being interested in the many things that life has to offer shows you're someone with a zest for life which seems rare a very robotic society where everyone seems dead inside.
🙌🏼
Hey man, most of us put up with A LOT of emotionally invested bs before we ultimately decided it's easier to just be dead inside 😅
@Wynona's Big Brown Dragon sad but true. I'm one of them 😂
But that guy has his own criterias. 😊 Because that's a 8-9 guy who won't choose any less than 7 in a woman.
More isn't always better.
The last few years I have been really interested in learning more IT technologies related to networking and cyber security, its also part of my job
I do animation too! Got some of my work on my RUclips channel!
Social dancing is a really good one. Depending on the scene you don't need a partner to get involved.
My hobbies include playing the viola, reading, running, archery, and leatherworking. I think it's a pretty good set
Now that's what I call proper hobbies 👏🏼
Courtney Ryan always droppin' knowledge.
She's right with her opening statements 💪
🫶🏼
I like this one a lot because I'm a hobby guy skiing, making beats, etc... however, when I'm with women for a longer period of time, let's say over 2 months, I noticed that they became somewhat more needy for attention when I was spending time on hobbies. Women who support their man's hobbies as long as they are productive and healthy are extremely attractive! The ones who don't get needy and whiny for a man's time when he's doing something he loves!
Fixing cars has got to be number one. Any hobby or interest where your woman doesn't have to consult another man is the best kind of hobby/skillset/interest you could have.
42-year-old dad. My hobbies are travel, gaming, drawing and sometimes the gym.
The funny thing is that woman complain that I have "too many" hobbies and interests and not enough time to simp for them😂
I gained more respect for painting, when I learned how to paint as the same for cooking and playing the guitar and violin educating yourself on something can give you that side of the perspective and understanding and when you see others do it you don’t just see it from the outside you see it from the inside too just getting started on something mentally can be the hard part learning to love it, and dedicate time to it can create love, confidence and happiness, and attract those of the same qualities and even if it doesn’t depending on where you live it’s still good to love it for yourself, because that in and of itself can shape you
Summary:
1. Playing a musical instrument
2. Cooking or baking
3. Traveling and exploring new places
4. Fitness and exercise
5. Reading and learning new things
6. Photography and art (creativity)
7. Outdoor activities (hiking, camping, skiing)
8. Volunteering and having a sense of community
9. Dancing (showing good rythym)
10. Playing sports
Here are a few more that I'll share/follow up on:
Playing board/card games; a game night is a great way to spend time and share some laughs.
While I've heard women say they like these things over never seen behavior that said that. I've seen them like to spend money though.
How to put This in a +40hr Week ?
Absolutely agree!
Hobbies I've had over the years:
Reading, Video Games, Guitar, Photography, Camping, Hiking, LEGO, Model Railroading, Action/Anime Figure Collecting, Cosplaying (including with the 501st Legion).
That last paragraph lol. That's every profile on Tinder. It was like I was staring at copies. People in real life are way more interesting
My hobbies- playing guitar drums piano. Reading. Working out. I would like to start learning French again. I took French in HS.
I just clicked to see video game and guitar and I wasn't disappointed
Great Success
I was given an award for the Most Passionate of the workers at the last athletic department I worked at...
...so I've got that going for me lol
Depends on the hobbies/passion. If they deem the passion too nerdy or niche, they are a turn off. But that's more of a reflection of them than yourself.
I could easily listen to u for a hour. Love the voice
