Awesome work man. I'm learning how to do restoration. And got a pair of these 3s. Can I use matte white and matte black or regular paint and use the matte finisher?
I’m shocked how these midsoles didn’t crumble or how the shoe didn’t fall apart after putting them in the wash or stripping the paint with paint stripper
great video! which grit sand paper did you use? Also when I use paint stripper the paint becomes very sticky almost like barge-cement glue texture so it becomes very hard to strip and it barely removes the paint. Is this normal?
Thank you! I would go with an off white color. When taping, tuck the tape into the elephant print. 1:1 ratio of 2-hard and your off white mix, and lay down light coats. Don’t oversaturate the threading with paint. If you’re using a paintbrush it won’t look very good until a couple coats. Sand down with a 1-1.5k sandpaper before your final coats for a professional look. Use an xacto knife to lightly score the tape before you pull off because sometimes it’ll fuse together. 2-3 light coats of krylon matte finisher to seal the paint.
@SneakerStation Your the Best! Went out of your way I won't forget that. Back tabbs with Yellowing all the "know it alls" it won't last etc etc. Definitely want to use this to get my Pure Money 3's back to white. Now all of a sudden piss yellow is in style I can't lol looks nasty on my end. Then again I go back to sneakers since the 80's have to keep them crisp. Another last question. Pair of 9/10 condition air pippen 1's black, white midsole, the classic. Just the front is getting "Suede Cracks" any suggestions on your end? Another person has a channel on how to do it but it's a pitch in buying there product and looks looks like he uses charcoal lol
Sounds like durabuck. When it starts cracking, it’s permanent damage. Only way to mask it is by dying it. I’m not a fan of dying shoes as its a very tedious process but if you want to try it, I would recommend using a brush to dye only the cracked portions so it blends in and you don’t see the white/grey color.
@SneakerStation Thanks Champ 🏆 🤝 Wish I can send you pics. No Black and White Cracking. That guy with the channel on here used some kind of Charcoal Method looked brand new. But if it's dye I agree not a fan of it what brand and color I'm assuming black being that it's a Black Toe Box.
I just checked out what video you were referring to. I’ve never seen that technique before so I’m not too sure. He used a sealant too, so it could possibly interfere with the texture of the material. If I had to, I would just use the angelus jet black dye to mask only the affected areas with a small point paintbrush.
Salon Care them and put the shoe with the air bubble right up on the grow light where it shines through it for about 12 hours. UV works for all types of oxidation
It’s pretty much a 1500W plant growth light purchased from ebay, in a shoe stand thats covered with mylar film all around so that way no light is coming out. My next video will show it.
I would also take a needle or thumb tack and poke holes in between every stitch that you painted over. It gives it a more finished look especially in the heel tab area. Paint tends to clump up in those holes.
The heel drag on these is bad! Out of your control I know but sheesh, i dont get why people dont pick up their damn feet when they walk. Other than that you worked a miracle on these 👍🏼
Man I love your video, heavily slept on keep grind bro!
Underrated channel
Bro you did great job....👍🏾. I just checked all your videos good work!
Brought it back to life wow
so satisfying this restoration
Great work bro!
That poor paint brush looks absolutely DESTROYED
If i dont see the foam, i cant be in my zone !
Cool vid bro I always support you
Awesome work man. I'm learning how to do restoration. And got a pair of these 3s. Can I use matte white and matte black or regular paint and use the matte finisher?
Thank you very much. I use flat white and flat black, but the finisher is ultimately what determines the final finish.
I’m shocked how these midsoles didn’t crumble or how the shoe didn’t fall apart after putting them in the wash or stripping the paint with paint stripper
Bro super clean !! How do you clean the elephant print?
Suede eraser first, if not try high grit sand paper
Could you put the salon 40 on the back tab you painted white ?
It’s worth trying. If i were to redo this restoration I wouldn’t repaint the tab though
Oh yea that was a nice transformation.

I'm diggin'your work. Why do you not use the black pen on the jumpman heel? Just curious.
I never tried that, It would probably take many coats/not stick on properly honestly.
Dude i need help with the same shoe but i got sole swaap problems
Goat 🐐
crazy transformation great job
How many layers of white paint did you pay before painting the black part of the midsole?
The black will cover it so only like 1-2 coats is necessary
@@SneakerStation so 2 coats of white and then two more of the black on the black part? And did you use a duller? Did you use a matte finisher or?
Just enough black to lay down the paint. 2-3 coats likely. The finisher is Krylon matte.
Excellent Job Champ 🏆 been looking for a way to restoring the yellow on the back tabs of my original Pure Money 3's. Any other advice, let me know 🤝

What is the name of the matte finish you use?
Any tips on how to deoxidize and unyellow the air window?
The air bubble?
@@SneakerStation yeah the air bubble. Thanks.
You can use a blow dryer/ heat gun
Salon Care them and put the shoe with the air bubble right up on the grow light where it shines through it for about 12 hours. UV works for all types of oxidation
Impressive !!!
👏🏻👏🏻 Nice job 🇧🇷
Nice video keep moving
How much do you charge
Pls tell about your indoor setup

What do u do if the back is cracked
Tab swap, showing it in next vid
I restore shoes but the thing I suck at the most is painting and glueing. So that tip on getting straighter lines might help!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
