Durian is the definition of a luxury fruit. It’s hard enough to acquire the low quality frozen pods, the fresh variety is almost impossible to get in the West. Even in Thailand or Vietnam it’s too expensive for the locals.
It’s kunyit durian in kelantan, everybody can eat it here not for wealthy only.. but if you buy in the city of course the price tripled. Btw, durian that stink is durian from thailand, we also don’t like it. Our cheapest durian (kampung durian) is so much better that that type 😂

Tried durian a bunch of times.. it tastes fine once you get past the smell. Early flavours of onion and sort of garlic with a really nice sweet flavor and texture. However for the price point it isn't really that great in my opinion. It's legit expensive for what it's worth.
sounds more like a funky vegetable... think I'd prefer soursop, rollinia, mangosteen etc plus the video mentioned waking up to these dropping, lmao, more likely you go take a forever nap when one falls, can't imagine it's much better than a coconut, which kills people when it falls.
Durian can only be enjoy during the season which is once a year..around june/july till september when the fruit is ripe enough to be eaten..unlike other fruit that can be harvest a month or two..but durian takes around 4/5 month total to harvest..so the price point is what is worth..still depend on quality of it..
