- Your imagination is a powerful gift from God, and your freedom to focus carries immense responsibility. When we surrender our future to God, it can be tempting to focus on that unknown future instead of the here and now. It can be tempting to imagine what things might be like... especially for the worse.
Today, Fr. Mark-Mary challenges us to discipline our imaginations and focus the way that an athlete disciplines his or her own body, and gives us a few tips to stay grounded and present in the moment.

Boy, did I need to hear this message at this moment! I’ve been looking for work for 6 months to no avail. My mind can go crazy projecting into the future if I let it. God will be there with me tomorrow, 2 months, and 2 years from now. Only he knows. Me worrying about the future is wasting what God has in store for me today. Thank Fr. Mark Mary for this message!

So needed this! Lord Jesus hear my prayers. Prayers are all I need. I’m losing hope but God restores my faith. These past three years have been difficult. At times I feel so alone especially as a single mom. Since suffering a heart attack two years ago and my on going battle with lupus I’m overwhelmed. Both of my sons are autistic. I’m now homeschooling them so my hours to work are limited. BUT I TRUST YOU LORD! I keep faith even as I constantly struggle to provide for my kids and I constantly struggle to buy groceries. I receive hate for sharing my testimony. My testimony is one of faith. No matter what we are facing God will give us strength to over come. Thankfully I have you Lord! I know I’m not alone. Faith over fear!

I see you God bless, your strength gives me strength. A mother's love is the closest experience we have to God's love. I too had a heart procedure it doesn't feel right to have heart pangs. You are wise to kneel your mind, if I see you God sees you, he knew us before he made us. Don't fall in a trap with only prayer, don't be a seer or a hearer be a doer. Remember a mother's heart is a school for children.

Praying for everyone who’s going to have seasonal anxiety this holiday season.
When my imagination runs wild & anxiety kicks in with any situation, I’ve been telling myself that God has always given me a soft place to land on, not matter what has happened. Aside from daily prayer, this is working so far🤷🏻♂️

You are blessed then because i’ve never had a soft place to land, never had a true real safe home only temporary places, have been estranged from family for over 20 years now. You make due when you’re young but now I’m approaching 50, no children, never married, socially awkward, never gad drugs and don’t drink and anxiety is a thing so I try to compartmentalize and do the one day one hour at a time thing. I also make sure I am filling myself my life up with positive healthy distractions.
Stop worrying about the future. This is so hard for me right now. Our 14 year old son quit going to school this year and stays here at the house. This has gone on for the past month. I don't know what he is thinking. He always made good grades too. This is SO frustrating for us. Right now, he is a lost soul. We pray and pray and pray for him to wake up, but it hasn't happened. Unfortunately, I lie in bed and think of his future and it's simply upsetting. I really try to put in all in the Lord's hands, but it can be difficult. Keep us in your prayers.
Can you homeschool? I would give a choice of that or going back. School isn’t an option at that age.

Continue loving him and ask him what does he want to do in the future give him time to process

I’ve gone through similar and know how worrying it is and my son is currently the same. I don’t have the answers and don’t know what to do either I just try and trust in god too.
I hated school too. Don't worry his life isn't over even if he never goes back. I know people that have made incredible livings with pursuits that required no formal education. Professional youtubers, multi level marketing, computer builders. There's also a ton of others sources of education. Formal schooling doesn't have a monopoly on that any more. He'll find his way. Don't worry.

Needed this today 🙏 Please pray for my 4 year old son who has surgery tomorrow morning. I am so nervous but I know it is in the Lord’s hands.
I really needed to watch this today. I lost my baby in January and I keep trying to stay in the present but in struggling with planning the future, struggling with what ifs, what if nots, struggle with a lot. I haven’t really stopped and noticed the now and appreciate the now. Life is good. God is good.

I'm exhausted today, and have been unemployed for months, and the temptation to enter the spiral of worry I used to enter down before I started my discipline journey was entering me. Reading all the comments has made me realize that thinking about the future is not the problem. Its the emotional part, having anxiety about it. The Lord made me realize last Sunday that I'm being self defeating when I feel afraid of the future, and that He has helped me every day until now. And He will be there tomorrow and the next day too, and He will never let go of me, ever.💖
I've watched this several times, to help me refocus when heartache and worry are trying to take over. This is an especially helpful post, and I will keep coming back to it to help me with the sadness and grief of all that is happening in the world as well as my own life. God bless you. Could use some prayers guys, i graduate college in a month and despite months of applying and interviewing i dont have a job. The time since ive come to college have been the worst years my life and its starting to seem like it was all for nothing.
The way I see it simply..is that IT HASN'T HAPPEND YET.
Deal with it when it happens if it happens. That's how life has always been ever since you were born. As you go thru adult hood all these 'demons' start creeping in. Doubt, Anxiety, Fear. You know the rest.
So with that. It's time to go back to a more simple state of mind. At the end of the day, you can't control anything other than the 'thoughts that creep and haunt you in your head..." Just LIVE LIFE. That's all you can do.

Thank you for this Video Father Mark-Mary! It came at a perfect time! I was recently diagnosed with cancer, and although our Lord has continuously blessed me through this journey, the waiting time from one appointment test to getting the results, to surgery, to my final treatment plan make menervous and fearful at times! I ask our God for forgiveness because he has blessed me so much and I remind myself that fear comes from the enemy. Thank you for reminding me not to worry about the future as only God knows our future plans! I trust in you Lord, that soon I will say I am cancer free! I know you have healed me! Prayers for everyone!

We should definitely plan for the future but not worry or be anxious about it as our Lord said in Matthew 6:34

I had it bad today worrying and trying to understand predestination, I think this really helps, I am a melancholic and tend to worry too much about the future or think too much about it instead of living in the present.

My life has been absolutely crazy since my childhood - I feel like I can’t escape the past - I’m always living on the brink of suicidal. JESUS WHERE ARE YOU
Please don't give up, Jesus is right next to you, supporting you so you can move forward and keep trying. He would never want you to commit suicide. Sometimes we have trouble hearing him because the voices and thoughts in our head are too loud and chaotic. Please find someone who can help you move on from the past. Good counselors know how to help and will help you move forward expecting good things in your future.

Please pray for me , i struggle with anixety and fear and had tough childhood but Jesus helped me through it but right now im 29 , jobless and trying to give a public employement exam for last 3 years . Thank you for this father as I asked God for help in this exact problem last night and here I find this video today thanks to the leading of the Holy Spirit leading me to you and you speaking to my soul. It’s true that even God stays grounded in the present during Creation showing us in Genesis 1 that each day has its own work and challenges when Creating everything even though God is not weak and could have done everything at once and started one task/goal to finish one day without leaving it to finish to the next day without worry.
When we realize we are loved , we can let go of worry of the next minute . It’s helped to Pray the Mary’s Mantle 46 days of pray . Each Star on her mantle equals each day of prayer . We are loved !❤

Fr. Mark-Mary, this is so difficult to do especially with what's happening in our own church. What the Pope is doing, it's even harder to pray for him genuinely. Especially when he has yet to share why he fired a faithful servant of God, Bishop Strickland. I am definitely having a hard time and I know I'm not the only Catholic that feels this way.
