Glad you enjoyed it! And man, I tell you if I had a bigger budget I would've loved to own one of the Tabletops and one of the Crystal series. They seem so cool!
@@VideoGameDocs yeah, I looked up some videos of people showing them off and the Crystal series looks especially cool just due to the clear aesthetic. Might try and grab one at some point! 👍
Whatever his faults, and they were legion, Hiroshi Yamauchi was a man who was seemingly always willing to at least hear out an idea so long as it was well reasoned no matter who it came from and throw the resources behind them to get them to succeed.
To think, the GBA was once absolutely revolutionary to me in it's ability to play SNES ports of equal and even higher quality. Whilst not my first gaming experience, I've always known of portable gaming, so it's hard to even imagine the scenario of it being introduced. Fantastic video! It was nice, concise and loaded with details. The little art sequence was a charming touch and it was decent listing of all the Game & Watches that exist. Gosh, I'd love to own a Balloon Fight one. 2:05 - Also, didn't know Nintendo had anything to do with the Maganvox Odyssey. Fun to learn that new fact!
My first portable experience was playing my brothers GBA! I always remember the leap from GBA to DS as groundbreaking. Playing Super Mario Advanced 2, then Mario 64 DS was such a transition for me. To think at one point the pinnacle of gaming were these little guys is really fun to think about. Glad you enjoyed the video so much!
@@VideoGameDocs Oh yeah, Super Mario 64 must have been such a shock to a lot of people. It didn't strike me as too odd by that point though, as I had gained the mindset of thinking Game Boy Advance = SNES, so next system (DS) would naturally be N64 equivalent... this thought process did leave me to expecting a bunch of GameCubes on 3DS though. That didn't come to be.
Great doco :-) it’s amazing how much gunpei contributed to Nintendo and how Nintendo disrespected him just because of the virtual boy. Growing up when the game and watch came out was unbelievable. :-)
I grew up researching and looking up to Iwata and Miyamoto because of how great they are. I've been really enjoying looking into Yokoi and how much of a difference he made at Nintendo as well! I can imagine how cool it was having the ability to take these games on the go for the first time!
Great video. I really hope Nintendo releases some more of these bad boys.
My first contact with a Nintendo product: Donkey Kong II.
Now, I’m a proud owner of 17 Game & Watch systems.
I had one of those with the two small wired gamepads, a boxing game
Really interesting video, nice work! I had no idea the Tabletop and Crystal Game & Watch devices existed. Really want to try them out now!
