She is somebody who fills the whole stage with her tiny body. She was asked if the song is about her ? Partly she said, but enough for her to understand and live the song. Look at me, here I am. The world loves you Emma as you are lovable. She comes on stage and whispers : Ecoutez moi , listen to me. And everybody does.
Im not overdoing when i say that this is by far the most impressive performance i ever saw and i saw that well over 50 times now. Loved the reaction too.
It's one thing to sing with musicality and technical excellence, it is something else entirely to become the song. Emma is the song and the song is Emma. She doesn't speak French so learned this song phonetically, though the lyrics could have been written for her (they were Barbara Previ's entry in the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest for France). Literal translations lose some of the poetry but are definitely worth reading to see what this song means. Apparently, they had to restart rehearsals three times because the (professional) musicians in the orchestra couldn't play their instruments with tears in their eyes. Emma has to spend 22 hours a day connected to feeding tubes. Every so often she has to have the connectors in her body changed. It takes about 20 minutes or so. She has this done without anaesthetic because of the risk that the drug would affect her voice. She is very small for her age because of her illness. Yet for the two hours when she can perform she flies. I'm not religious, and I don't believe in literal Angels, but Emma's performance is the closest I've ever seen to artistic perfection, so if there are Angels, she is definitely one of them, come to Earth just when we need her talent the most.

The man at the end in the blue jacket who cups his hands and shouts to Emma is her Dad - Vico, to his right is Sophie, Emma's 2 year older sister and to Dad's left is Enzo her 21 year brother and brilliant violinist. Mum, Nathalie, is back stage to help with Emma's medical problems. Emma has to be on her feeding pumps at least 22 hours out of 24 - always. She disconnects from the pumps for performances like this.
Great reaction. What I find amazing about this performance is everybody in the audience including me were in tears except Emma, she was dry eyed and smiling!
I've seen a few performances by Emma and quite a lot of reactions and it seems i'm hooked on her. When you see the audiences at the performances notice how everybody is in absolute awe and often people get emotional, just like me. Considdering all of this you can come only to one conclusion: Music and a performance of this magnitude connects people all over the world, just observe the audience and you know what i mean and we can know how much the world needs this.

I don't think it can be emphasized enough that Emma Kok was only 15 years old when she performed 'Voila' before an audience of 12,500 in Maastricht, July 2023. To perform like that, at that young age, is beyond phenomenal. Young Emma set a pretty high bar for herself with this performance, and if anyone thinks this was a one-off performance that she will never be able to equal, I will just ask that they look into her nascent career in a bit more depth. During the rehearsals for this performance, Maestro Rieu was so convinced he had discovered something very special in Emma, that he invited her to accompany him and the orchestra on their 2024/2025 world tour. Emma, of course accepted, and since last Feb. has been bringing the house down in cities across Europe, to Mexico, and now South America. Meantime, during breaks in the touring schedule, she has rendered a number of stunning performances, all of which can be accessed on RUclips: a performance of 'Voila' as a duet with Helene Fischer on the Helene Fischer Show from last Christmas, a performance of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' with the European Pop Orchestra, also from last Christmas, a duet with April Darby of 'When you Believe' for the Dutch Royal Family on 5, May 2024 (Liberation Day) in Amsterdam, and a week later in The Hague, a performance of Demi Lovato's 'Father'. It is about the Dutch school system not not allowing Amira to do performances all over the world because she would miss to much classes. The African school did allow Amira to to do performances all over the world. Difference is also that Amira was 9 years odl when she got famous and Emma Kok 15. At 15 years old Emma Kok could choose to do worldschool online and perform all over the world with Andre Rieu.

Resubscribed to your current channel. :) There are singers who don't sing with emotional attachment, but beside them most of them feel what they sing. For me the question if I feel it with them. Sometimes the magic isn't there, the eyes closed or desperately tries to convey the feeling but it just don't get through, the audiance don't get drawn in. And few singers have the talent to instantly make us connect. Emma has this power. From the first note she grabs our attention, our heart beat with hers, she makes the magic happen. And due to her singing skill we are enchanted, dynamics, gorgeous notes, power and delicacy, all there. I truly believe even on Eurovision she would have reached better result. Not because of her condition. But because how she can convey the emotions, feels true, real. Talent and dedication to train her voice despite her body failing her. This song literally describes the life she has lived, the harassment over her statue and having to tow around feeding bags in school, the struggle that comes with here disease every single day. I honestly could feel how this song connected so much with her and I am happy she has something she can do as well as a great support system, this song made her famous and I commend Andre Riuu for giving her a stage and chance to go on your with him. Gastroparesis patients have a very high rate of suicide, it's a job you have 365 days a year and never get a break from, many patients can't do anything career wise because it gets in the way, I am just glad she is well supported and strong ❤️
