IMPORTANT: in the Meta form he is referencing- right above the boxes he shows to check- it states this: "We don't automatically fulfill requests sent using this form. We review them consistent with your local laws." So even if you do what he says- they still do not fulfill your requests and specifically say so. How unlawful is that?

This is available to me in Australia. However, how on earth are you supposed to provide evidence that your personal information has been used? I'm a fine artist, the likelihood of my works being used to train AI is high, but I'm mystified as to how I can provide the evidence as the form will not be sent to Meta without the evidence.

Wondering the same here, I just copied the same message into both boxes and submitted a screenshot of my message as my image, but it probably won't work. Its sad that they're making us 'prove' our work has already been stolen before we can opt out :(

@@lindarygh5008 I agree with @annakovacs3849 and you & I did something similar to what you did because it would not take my request without "evidence".
All they're doing is presenting an impossible conundrum that we really can't win that's probably been formulated by a bunch of high powered attorneys.
You don't want even the possibility of your work being taken, they're presenting it as an an inevitable consequence of posting on the platform. Such CACA!!

I am also in Australia and I had the same response and received the following message: To address your request, we need information about whether AI or Meta's models have knowledge of you. Please provide any prompts you entered that resulted in your personal information appearing in a response from an AI or Meta model, feature or experience. We also need evidence of the response that shows your personal information.!!! So what do I do now? Any advice would be gratefully received.

Where is the option for people in Australia to opt out? I looked on meta messenger and I can’t even see the option to begin with. Whereabouts did you find it? ☹️
Ok Edit I just found it. But the page is giving me a something went wrong error message. Has anyone had any luck with this ?

In some countries, Meta itself provides the option for people to object to having their data used for AI training. Meta named this “the right to object.”
This happens because in European countries and Brazil there are laws regarding people's privacy on the internet and give people the right to object to having their data used to train Meta's AI (or for anything else).
I'm from Brazil and I sent a request citing the "General Personal Data Protection Law" that is in force in Brazil and I promptly received a response saying that my request was accepted.
If your country has a law that protects the personal data of citizens on the internet, you can cite the law in the request.

Thank you for the guidance! Attempting this put me in a loop of OK, now add the code we sent to your email; followed the instructions and it took me back to the form with my orignal text managled, and when I submitted again it wanted a code again so I gave it the same number I'd initially received in email and then got to an error page saying sorry, it's not working right now. They are making this exceptionally difficult on purpose.

I opened a request a few days ago and they didn't respond to me. Today I opened another request citing the Brazilian law "General Personal Data Protection Law" and received a response approving my right to object to having my personal data used.
I advise you to find out if there is any law like this in your country that protects people's personal data on the internet.
