    I was fortunate enough to have discovered this gem recently and add several of the Glendronach bottles to my collection. I picked up the 12, the 15, the 18 (sold out everywhere!) and the 21. They are an absolute treat when I decide to enjoy a dram!

    I whole heartily agree! A definite buy and a wonderful dram!
    Among my favorites as well!
    Excellent review Horst! Thanks for sharing.

    Having had the 15 and the 18, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed, this 21 will probably be next on my list. Still reasonably priced - even here in Norway! Thanks for yet another superb review!

    This dram has descended directly from heaven into my cabinet. When I took a sip it fellt like 200 little angels were pissing on my tongue. After 20 seconds in my mouth i got so much sensations that i almost fainted by hapiness . Don't let anyone tell you to put water or ice in it and don't believe people saying it's not extremely good,, because it is. End of discussion! No,,, i am joking,, everybody has different taste/opinion and that's how it should be.
    To Horst and Ben,, thanks for your expert reviews,, I love them

    I gather from recent reviews that Parliament and Glenlivet 18 are amongst your favourite whiskies. Would love to hear what else would fill your list. Keep the great reviews coming Horst!

      I think, from doing lots of recent 'research' on his channel, that Horst may add Lagavulin 16 Distiller's Edition and Black Bowmore 42 to that list.

    I just bought a bottle to replace the one I emptied last week. The price has gotten very high where I live in the U.S. In my state there are minimum prices set by the state on spirits. The last bottle I bought 3 years ago cost me $199. Now it is $290 and unfortunately I could not find it for a lower price in a neighboring state. This will probably be the last bottle I buy. Love this whisky but it has gotten to the point where it is simply cost prohibitive.

    Hello. I would like to start by saying I know nothing about scotch. Make that alcohol in general, but your videos are very informative for a novice of my nature. Do you recommend a single malt scotch for a retired military man. Ive been told its traditional to give single malt scotch to them when they retire. The person in question had 23 years in the Army.

    1st dram :
    nose : sweet/caramel, fruit/orange/sherry, clove/cinamon.
    taste: bit spicy, bit bitter, long finish, nuts/nutmeg/chocolate.
    but not worth €200+..
    would pay max €100 for this.
    glendronach 15 is better for your money.

    I have a 2013 bottled year of Gl.Dronach 18 Unopened, Carefully observe the liquid, I saw a few small pieces of light brown stringy (around 2 mm long) sinking at the bottom of the spirit, when shaking up they move around in the spirit. My question: is there any thing wrong about the liquid ?. , is it error of filtration?, or sediment?. i do hope nothing wrong about my Gl.Dronach 18 that costed me $160. What is your thought on this ?.
    Thank you for your knowledge opinion .

      I think there is nothing wrong with Your Glendronach. The distillery is well known for making whisky "as it should be"- non-chill filtred, natural color. Sometimes in Single Cask edition it happens- nothing to worry about.

    That one needs water and let it rest for about 20-30 mn under a glass lid. Still, a lot of sherry aroma then leathery . I prefer the 15yo revival.

    • @richardbarbat4127
      @richardbarbat4127 8 лет назад +1

      I agree with you i prefer the 15 Revival too. The 21 is more quiet, almost "boring" (it's still an excellent whisky). The 15 is more punchy in mouth, more alive. Glendronach has stopped production of 15 Revival, but we can still find bottles 30-40 Euros less than the 21.

    • @pierremadani7281
      @pierremadani7281 8 лет назад

      Got my 15yo for 90$ a few months ago and its price is on the rise. I heard they might reintroduce the Revival in 2017. Let's wait and see what Billy Walker would come up with.

    The alcohol taste is much much to strong! The alcohol predominates to much .. even if you add water to it. Not recommended! I throw this bottle away in the sink or I give it away, this is really a very very bad whisky... biggest mistake to purchase this one. I never buy such a high ABV again! Just give me a delicate whisky without the strong alcohol taste. This is definitely not a delicate whisky! Bweh!!!
