In LIC the promoter holds about 96.4% shares now, promoters must sell 6.4% stakes before May 2027 and it will continue till it reaches a target of 75% promoter holdings in coming years. This OFS will drag the share price to lower levels. If they enter into Vehicle insurance and other similar sectors, the share price may appreciate, but as per the present rules Life insurance companies can't enter into vehicle insurance sector. LIC holds a big chunk of unlisted NSE shares. Listing of NSE and other unlisted holding may add some fuel to the LIC share price.
