“Finding Ground” by Andrew Downing

Finding Ground is the title track for my traditional jazz album that I’m close to finishing. Only two more drum tracks to record. The album Finding Ground feels like a major accomplishment for me, as I believe the song writing, engineering and instrumental work are good enough to impress a serious jazz critic. I have sought to accomplish this task since 2018, and prepared for this for the last forty years. Playing 4 instruments, bass, guitar, piano and drums is a major challenge and playing traditional jazz for all four is is a tall order. I utilize the most basic technology to record and master my tracks, relying on technique for all four instruments, not samples or some other easier path. Teaching lessons on all four instruments has been the secret to the success of this album project. I hope you enjoy!
