Yes, we all remember the Iran Hostage Crisis of 1979 -81. We also remember that the hostage takers of the US Embassy, under Khomeini, RELEASED the blacks and the women hostages. They were freed, to fly back to America. That was such a powerful political statement! But they kept the chargé d'affaires, Bruce Lainingen.

At some point someone will have to explain to me how you...avoid prison time...by becoming the President. Like, if I get charged with a crime and become President before conviction I can avoid conviction? I'm just wondering how that works because it sounds bizarre.
This is the first time this has happened in US history for a president before there in office basically he will pardon himself just like he can pardon other people in federal prison
When you run on "get Trump" which Leticia did in a district that's 75%-80% Democrat and then tell the jury they don't have to know what crime they are convicting Trump of but can still find him guilty that's probably not a just conviction.
Presidential immunity is part of it....the other part is getting judges to throw out other charges. The civil suits may still be in play and questions around the constitutionality of a president elect being immune from criminal charges still is a subject that will be up for debate and the Supreme Court will have another ruling to make in those affairs.
