Ultra Trail Wales 50 mile ultra marathon

I've never done any running in Wales so this was an event I was very much looking forward to - and it 100% did not disappoint. Steep climbs and scrambles across boulder strewn mountain peaks wasn't what I was expecting, which added to the drama of the day. What an experience it was.

Thank you. It was tough to try and get it done in under 24 hours but it’s such a fantastic trail that the scenery makes it all worthwhile.

I used Salomon S-Lab Ultra 3. I really love this shoe for the mountains

It is a cracking route but really tough at times. No matter where you go in Snowdonia it seems to be steep and technical.
