Methodology
1) I gathered data from myanimelist.net/character.php . The .csv files containing search interest values were downloaded from Google Trends for every character.
2) Ammount Search Tool determined the average monthly search volume for every anime.
3) The number of searches per month for each calendar year were proportioned based on official reports from Google.
4) Data modeling through an algorithm invented by me to obtain the most realistic data possible.
5) Search interest values and proportioned monthly search volumes were placed in Excel for calculations.
6) The data was placed into Flourish Studio to create the data visualization piece.
7) Image and audio assets were added with Wondershare Filmora.

They keep releasing films, so you get all the curious Netflix people boosting it up.
I mean the real king of holding relevancy is Dragon Ball. I know it's had a lot of remakes, additions, movies, everything but it's still amazing how it's been strong for 34 years. It's a ripe old anime that still is kicking.

Every time I see Light Yagami on top, I kept on thinking "Did they release a new season of Death Note?" but then again I know that they didn't. It's just amazing how Death Note keeps getting people's attention every now and then. Death Note is definitely an anime of all ages / era.

Because people keep recommending Death Note as a gateway anime. Meaning someone new to anime who have never watched anything or only a few shows are more likely to have watched Death Note. Same for Code Geass. Then those people recommend the same anime to their friends, it's a cycle.
Death note is something where only supernatural is death note and shinigami, no powers in characters , so it's easier to watch that as a beginner , that's why it's so popular.
