Methodology
1) I gathered data from myanimelist .net/topanime.php?limit=2019 . The .csv files containing search interest values were downloaded from Google Trends for every anime.
2) Ammount Search Tool determined the average monthly search volume for every anime.
3) The number of searches per month for each calendar year were proportioned based on official reports from Google.
4) Data modeling through an algorithm invented by me to obtain the most realistic data possible.
5) Search interest values and proportioned monthly search volumes were placed in Excel for calculations.
6) The data was placed into Flourish Studio to create the data visualization piece.
7) Image and audio assets were added with Wondershare Filmora.

Death note has 37 episodes, aired for under a year in 2006-2007, only has 108 chapters, has 12 volumes and still it is popular among many to this day. Truly a gem

You are a man of culture! Did you see Naruto leading always, and DBZ being on top list even after 20 years of being finished 😂. Other animes would have a temporary boost and be good for few months, but naruto and DBZ were permanent. Naruto at 2020 leading the list and it had ended at 2015 😂. DBZ and Naruto makes the top list at 2030 too. At 2050 too 😂

- TV Airing (they're the OGs, and were around when cable TV was still popular. Once you're around there, you're good to go forever. People still watch some shows from the 1970s for the same reason: they're classics)
- They had less competition at the time (and thus cemented themselves as some of the greats with a much lower budget)
- Western Influence (pretty self explanatory, but essentially, western influence means it'll appeal to the majority of the world)
- Merch (both DBZ and Naruto make the majority of their revenue from merch, and merch is one of the best forms of advertising since it's genuine)
- Younger appeal (it's the same reason kids channels dominate RUclips today; there are a lot of kids with too much free time. It's much harder to create a hyper-popular anime that's targeted toward adults. You'll notice Pokemon held in there forever for this same reason. Aside from XYZ and some odd episodes, Pokemon wasn't that insane of an anime)
- They have so many episodes that unless you watch extremely frequently, it will take years to finish those animes. Thus, new fans are sucked in for years, creating a "time-lag" on the charts.

@@classifiedinformation960Kuroko no basket? Lemme tell you. I haven’t seen slam dunk so I can’t say on the story but I’ve heard very great things about it. But KOROKO is SOO good. It’s very easy to get attached to the characters and the plot. The animation is superb and smooth for its time. It’s very good. Thing about sport shoes like that is that you don’t have to know nothing about the sport to enjoy them, they might even peak your interest in the sport.

It didn't/doesn't deserve hype. HxH is extremely mid. I hope the creator gets a chance to finish it so I don't have to spend the rest of my life hearing whiny fanboys talk about "what could have been". It has some good ideas and stellar world building, but the execution is awful.
DB deserves it fr. And Death Note is so short but in less than 40 episodes it showed that it’s worthy of being in this list for so many years. 2 of my favorite shows, ngl, I was looking at them much more than I was looking at the other shows in this video. They’ll always have a special place in my heart

Love how DB held it down for 6 straight months when the Tournament of Power was airing. Dragon Ball Kept it from October 2017 (when Ultra Instinct was revealed) to March 2018 (When the DBS anime ended). And whats even crazier is later in 2018 when DBS broly came out, Dragon Ball held the number one title from November 2018 to January 2019. Jeez, DB really carried late 2017 and 2018 very hard.

I remember when Attack on Titan came out it exploded and in my opinion was the moment when anime became more mainstream in the west. That's why whenever there is a new season there's a huge spike.

I’m super happy my code Geass made the list at number 1 for a few months in 2008. Couldn’t be happier.
Classroom Of the Elite in its first season did not appear right on the list but the second season appeared a lot and this shows that this work became very popular over time but not so much in its release.
Tbh i don't think classroom of the elite is actually ever gonna be that popular because there are a lot of issues in its production. The fans and readers say that the studio shows no love to the anime and it feels rushed as hell too.

Edgerunners was a work of fucking art. An absolute masterstroke of storytelling and animation. I’ve seen a LOT of anime and it’s my second favorite of all time.

The fact that at one point 3 of my top favs were on this list at once. Fairy Tail, Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia. And that Fairy Tail was on there for a good chunk of tome makes me so happy. And def happy Inuyasha was on there too. One of my older favs

I dont know+like anime, so I watched it in 2x.It seems Naruto had the best legacy(I also watched it in my childhood),then death note,dbz was also in top(I also watched it as a cartoon), and in modern era aot had The best legacy but it had hard competition with others. So I choose Naruto,It also gave me chill,nostalgia 🫠
