Looking real good now. Can nearly see the end. Love the shirt and cup i got from you. Everytime i drink from it i go to my one tunna and do some work. Keep up the great content.
Coming along very good man. We used to use that panel bond in the panel shop. That’s what we use to hold the 1/4 panels on, then spot weld and weld. But they can easily hold a 1/4 panel on by its self. There are testing videos somewhere on RUclips where they do a crash test to show the strength of the panel bond 👌🏻👌🏻
A great way to suff all that impressive work, by the way air going straight in at the front in going to give you more air pressure. But it’s your car not mine, I just don’t like them myself.
Yes you are probably right the air coming into a front facing scoop is most likely going to perform better. I'm not a fan of the front facing scoop that's why I went a reverse.
Nice job Sambo. I would look at making your cut out slightly bigger if you can incase you want to go with a larger circumference air filter. Watch a couple vids on them, more surface area equals less restriction. Be easier while still in primer than down the track. Not a huge fan of reverse scoops but it came out nice mate. Think it will look great once in the final colour.
Cheers Carl... I never really used to be either but I like them now. There not really many options out there on scoops. I was thinking the BA bulge would look ok.
Just found this build 3 days ago watched it from the start, now hanging out for the next episode……love tonners, had one, want another, Surprised you didn’t cut out the back of the cab for extra room inside and a flat clean look from the back.
Glad you watched from the start to the end. That must be a few hours now. I did think about shaving the back section but decided not too as would be a good week of work and I just had the cab sprayed in Epoxy. I do like the idea
Nice job ,the other option is to let repliglass do it all for you, they will even cut out underneath if you ask on a full glass bonnet. How did the epoxy rub back as on my bonnet it was like as hard as a rock to sand ..
I was thinking of going a full glass bonnet but just opted for the glass scoop. I think there a bit of a lead time for a full bonnet. I have yet to rub the Epoxy back as yet. When I rubbed the cab back it was not too bad but yeah it does get a hard shell on it.
True about lead time I wasn't in a rush helped ,got it back on now in 2k looks ok ,I've got shit gaps on the hr so mite try your process been pondering staring long enough now.
Personally i would fill and weld the end off the cross braces.. Look at how howard astil designs. How he does a bonnet he. Has won a few street machine 1st place
I think so. The only real advantage to the fiberglass would be lighter bonnet. I did look into it but it was a 10 month lead time to get a fiberglass one. Im happy with the fiberglass on steel.

Haha Good stuff. Thanks for supporting the channel with the Merch...
I love your channel. I'm in the US and trying to build a tonner tribute, your videos have been so helpful!
Glad you enjoy the channel. Thats pretty cool. Good to have some U.S watchers. Would be interesting to see what you are building as a tribute.

It seems like very strong stuff. I would hate to try and pull the scoop off the bonnet

Glad you enjoy the channel. No VK episodes. Maybe one day I might build one

Hi how did you get rid of the screw holes on the under side
What about rust forming under the scoop?
Is it possible to epoxy the bare metal and then install it??
Thanks!!!!
Great work love what your doing just a question (don"t know if its been asked) are you going to run a brake booster
Thanks Mate. Nah not going to be running a booster. Its a larger diameter master cylinder.
Still interested in your old engine parts ,thanks Paul
what parts are you interested in?
@@ShenkeGarage cam, lifters rockers, valve springs, valves and what ever else you have, thanks Paul
Did you find this was a better option compared to ordering a complete fibreglass bonnet?
A full fibreglass bonnet is illegal in Qld I think adam
@@Mr07obrien Pretty sure you're right, mine had to go over the original bonnet.

I was thinking of doing that. I still can I guess...
nice job mate to easy
Thanks 👍
Just going back over this build and was wondering how you went getting rego done in QLD with a glass cowl? I thought it had to be metal?
4 inch cowl?
Yep 4 inches
👏👍🏻🍺
Just not a fan of reverse cowls....
Understand they are not everyones cup of tea....
why some does different extra stupid panels and all, the best to leave it oreginal loll
Because I like it
Wrong
I like it
