I like how you stopped yourself from going hardcore existential during the sunrise... Yet we all know that we have only so many. Thank you for sharing. And thank you for the inspirational leap you took. I don't believe you left the real world - you leaped into it. Thank you for reminding us about the brevity of things and inviting us to embrace the important stuff.
I have a good friend thats an army veteran with severe ptsd. He recent came up from Alabama to visit me in kentucky and i was watching one of your videos. He told me he puts on your 4 hours uncut videos ever night to help him sleep. He said your voice calms him down enough to help him sleep. A random story but figured you might like to hear that youre out here helping people beyond just fishing. And hes a bass fisherman through and through but still giving your channel lots of love
Congrats on your awards - it's been quite a journey. Glad to have been part of it. A favour, please - take some berkley gulp alive lures with you to the keys. Anything with a curly tail. I fish river mouths and estuaries with them and like them as much as you like your smelt minnow. Swimming mullet and grubs are great - with drop shot. Will definitely also work for cats. Tight lines!
I can totally relate to what you are saying about the way you are fishing today. That is why my favorite thing to fish for is sturgeon!!!! I've been hunting them since 1979.
Hey Justin, I haven't made a comment in a while, but I heard you talking about Key West. If you really want to get into some multi fish, I would suggest you fish a plateau called the Maryland hump. It is west of Key West. Also, you can buy live Shrimp, which I prefer over frozen. Just don't hook them in the brain. I wish I could attach a picture of the location to the Maryland hump. It rises 30 feet up and is 100 yards by 200 yards large. Hard to miss. Been a great video so far. Loved the Sunrise. So beautiful. Keep them rods bent and I hope that a golly whopper is caught. Until next video, take care and enjoy you time fishing, whatever type, I will be watching. Oh, I forgot that Bohia Honda Bridge is also a great area to fish.
Had a big water and an outback. Loved the comfort of the big water. It just didn’t do as well launching in bigger surf on the Texas coast. I will say the older I get the less I enjoy launching in a washing machine in any of them😂 I miss my big water! It was a drier ride on rough days in freshwater than the frontier 12 I have now. Still have my 2018 outback and imho it’s the best offshore pedal kayak out there and that’s what I use it for!
Found your channel about 1 or 2 months ago and im loving the vids. Im trying to get into catfishing and i was wondering what the best budget reel/rod is?
I use my tool batteries for my garmin so I always have half a dozen or more batteries in my car that I can use for the sonar. I've only had it a few weeks and still learning what it can do.
Thays pretty wild seeing a post spawn cat this late down your way. We still haven't got any good fish feeding up here in the mtns. Makes me wonder if there still on the nest when typically we starting to catch a few. Which our spawn is always late because all our water is mtn creek cold water fed river systems. Especially Watauga and Holston Lakes. But alot of stuff has happened later on the water.
I'm with you the stepping motion doesn't work with my injury. But even before going to the gym did not like the stepping like the bicycle motion better.
Justin hearing you talk about the power pole motor I had to look it up. Why didn't you get the minnkota auto deploy, in out touch of a button. I total enjoy mine
Thanks for uploading another great video fishing from a kayak. I also multi species fish from a kayak. I recently purchased a used Perception Outlaw. I have to sit higher above my feet due to neuropathy issues. Did you purchase the XTR130?
Every time I get caught up on your recent videos I start watching older ones. Im currently in 2017 videos and I’m curious why you don’t seem to catch stripers as often nowadays. Has the population went down or have you changed something, possibly areas or structures you target. Just curious thanks for the video.
I don’t fish on bottom as much anymore. I mostly suspend baits when anchored now and I definitely caught more stripers bottom fishing than suspending. I also don’t fish the stretch of river where I used to catch stripers very much anymore. After I started posting videos from there, that area started getting pounded.
Justin, after you mentioned the Bonafide XTR130 as the kayak you are seriously considering to replace your Hobie, out of curiosity I looked into it. When you talked about the new troling motor you just bought and the difficulty of the release lever on the moror, you commented how you might have to "shimmy" up there to release the motor because of how much force is needed to release it. Shouldn't you be able to walk right up on the deck and rekease the motor as if you're on a boat, because of how they designed the front of the kayak to be able to stand up there and fish?
Hey Justin, do you think Tennessee is going to continue doing what they’ve been doing with the football? They’re looking pretty good so far. I also would like to complement you on your videos. I live in Arizona we don’t have monsters hardly like that and there’s a few, but not consistently like that, good job.😊
Just finished the Masterclass! Can't wait to put the knowledge to use. Not sure about the best location to use on the local lake though. Topography or contours are not great.
A garden for me is just the satisfaction of watching it grow. I planted some cana lilies the neighbors are 3 to 4 foot tall and mine are 7 to 8 foot. But I put fertlizer on them and water them at night when they are inside watching tv. Why give up my secrets.
Justin, if you dont mind me asking this... around what time of year does the stripers start moving in towards the lower portion of watts bar dam? If they do. Im new to this area as i grew up in morgan/roane co. Im currently bank fishing at the boat ramp closest to the dam (lower) and a lot of top water activity of big fish.
Unfortunately, I’m the wrong person to ask about the timing of striper movements. I rarely target them. You might want to hit up Marc Cooper from Top Knox Fishing RUclips channel. He is the best striper fisherman I know.
Hey Justin... it's Steve. Wish you would tell us where you are on Fort Lousy and where you launched from. It's such a big body of water. Plus I've been reading that some boat ramps are not as safe as others. People report their trucks get broken into and such.
It would be pretty stupid to post gps coordinates of where I fish unless I never wanted to go there again. Places I fish already get pounded from locals and other RUclipsrs who recognize where I am catching fish in my videos.
@@KayakCatfish Yes, that would be stupid... but I didn't ask for GPS coordinates did I? Just a general "South side of such and such, launched from Turkey Creek... or whatever.
@4WDJeepDriver there's enough landmarks to establish where he's at if you give that much info out. Just like in big bass tournaments locals following the pros and way pointing all the spots they're fishing. These guys put a lot of work into finding these spots. Get out there yourself
He has places he does not fish at now because of fishing pressure . Most of the places where he use to catch stripers he doesn't even fish there any more. He doesn't drop videos of where he is fishing until he is through fishing that area. Because others will poach the area he is fishing, by letting Justin do all the work on finding the fish.
I had a 12-foot hoodoo 120 p. Pedal drive kayak just like the one you're in probably. I miss that thing just 90 lb for the kayak itself. It became too much for me now I have a 10 ft 45 lb

What you are doing is so much like hunting for big bucks . You know the area a big one should be coming through and you sit up and wait for them. You set the hook and the hunter drop the hammer. Same objective .🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣

If you get behind again this winter, we wouldn't mind a few gear/tackle/equipment videos.

I hope you filmed. I like Mark seem like nice cat to hang out with then to have Kali with visiting I think it wold be a really good video.
I ended up not filming for my channel but I played cameraman for Kali’s video.
@KayakCatfish thats cool I bet you guys had a blast. If you have the opertunity will you drop me her channel name I can't remember it.
K & K Fishing Adventures
You should send that award back and tell RUclips you bought your own award because apparently you're better with your money than they are. 😅
Hahaha! That’s a great idea
As a kid, we grew poor. My dad and I would fish in the Sassafras River. We would eat catfish and fish row for breakfast.💙

Justin hearing you talk about the power pole motor I had to look it up. Why didn't you get the minnkota auto deploy, in out touch of a button. I total enjoy mine
The auto deploy motors are way too heavy for the front of a kayak.
I think it would probably be weight minnkota over 100 lbs. Power pole around 50 lbs.

I’m still waiting for Bonafide to ship the XTR130 to stores. I have heard they are going out on September 16th.

In theory, I should be able to walk up there but I wont know for sure until I try it.
Hopefully, it works out, and you're able to keep deploying the motor simple.
