Really useful video, thank you so much! Have you covered the topic of music copyright when using it in animatics? I'd really like to know but haven't seen anyone talk about it
I'm glad it was useful! when it comes to copyright, there's not a lot you can do tbh. You can use royalty free music, or a cover, but tbh, I just let the video be copyrighted. It only effects the monetiztion, so I just have it that most of my animatics are unmonitized (which is a shame but what can ya' do lol)
@@Stormyth_ Omg, thank you for answering! That's what I thought but wanted to make sure if there's a way to somehow avoid copyright claim ( I thought it might somehow affect the channel). Thank you again for confirming! You're the first one to reply. Really appreciate it 💙
i drew all the sketches/storyboard for an animatic but now i have 39 layers and i dont know if csp has a layer limit but i have to individualy do lineart anf colour in ecah one sigh
I usually save the sketch files as I go to minimize layer. So you can save each layer as a jpeg and then when you do the lineart bring those files in, do all you gotta do, save that for the final frame and repeat. I hope that made sense lol
ahhh, thank you! I don't currently have plans for a basic drawing tutorial but I might do some more specified ones eventually! So if there's specific things you want tips on, lemme know! :D
One thing I’m wondering right now is how do we not get copyrighted with music? I want to use a specific song but cannot find a license for if anywhere? I am almost done with storyboarding :)
tbh, I just let the vids be copyrighted, it doesn't add a strike to your channel, so you're fine in that regard. All it means is the vid won't be monitized which I'm personally fine with if it's a project I'm excited about but yeah, that's the only downside to copyrighted music. Not much to be done unless you ask a cover artist permission to use their cover for the vid. I hope this is helpful haha.
Amazing video! Thank so much ^-^ its very reassuring to see your process; i had the same idea with drawing first in photoshop & editing in Adobe. Do you draw thumbnails before drawing the actual frames?
I use the thick n' thin brush for the line art and then for animatics I usually use the hard round opacity for shading! both are default photoshop brushes! :D
heyy, I'm glad!^^ I think for editing I've seen people using capcut, and as for drawing, there's ibispaint. I haven't used either myself but I've seen people talking about them, so hopefully that's helpful lol
Hi, I have a question no one has really been able to answer in any videos so I'm asking you! How do you add music to your animatics? I want to be able to download music or just use music from youtube or spotify or something for my animatics but I can't seem to figure out how. Using voiceovers sounds bad and doesn't really work, and I really want the audio to be clear! How do I do this? Thanks!
I use a youtube to mp3 converter to download all the music I use for vids. you can just google one and find which one you like best. another way is to use a screenrecord and record desktop audio (not mic audio) and you can get it from there too if the audio isn't on youtube! I hope that makes sense and it helpful!!^^
I just realized, IS YOUR FIRST ANIMATIC PERCY JACKSON?? I recently started reading it, so.. also, thanks for the tips! I started making an animatic and I’m only good at the art and lineart part 😅
omg YESSS!! I love Percy Jackson but I cannot watch that old animatic I did for it lol. Ayyy, I'm glad I could help tho! tbh the art is a big part of it so sounds like you're doin' pretty good! :D
I haven't actually used the program myself, but most likely you can just drag the files in^^ If that doesn't work you can probably just go to file, import and pick all your frames from there. I hope that helps and that you can get it working!! Best of luck on the animatic!! :D
How do you make an animation without being copyright striked? last one i made did and im confused. i want to make more but i need to figure out what i did wrong.
it was probably just a claim and not a strike. I've never recieved a strike on my channel but all the animatics that use copyritten music do get claimed and I can't monetize them, and unfortunately there's nothing I can do about that. it's not too big a deal, you just won't make any money from them, but yeah, your channel it's self will be fine, so no worries, the worst that can happen (in my experience) is that the video might be blocked in some countries. using a cover might work? I've never done that cause I'm too shy to ask people to use theirs lol. I'm sorry I can't be more help, if there is a way around it I haven't found it haha.
I'm glad!! I would just say to look at the sound waves as reference but I honestly just kinda adjust as I go until I'm happy with it, no real technique haha sorry about that!
the bit at around the 4 min mark where I talk about having the character glide across the screen, I basically to the same thing but vertically and for a shorter time. I hope that makes sense haha. if you mess around with it a bit using that tool, I think you can get it :D (it's hard to explain without visuals lol)
Your tutorial was super helpful, thank you for sharing your process! But I have a question: If I wanted to use a song from a movie or music artist, how do I use it without getting a copyright strike? Can I just leave a link to the channel/ original video and give credits in the video description?
I'm glad it was helpful! Using copyrighted music will not give you a strike on your channel it just demonetizes the video. so if you don't mind not making money you can use any music you want lol. (it is always nice to give credit to smaller music artists tho) unfortunately if you do want to monetize your video you just have to use copyright free music. I usually just let my animatics be demonetized tbh haha. but yeah, your channel will be fine, no strike, and your video will be fine, it's just about wether you make money or not. Hope that makes sense and is helpful haha
Wait- so you draw the frames then you apply it to the animating software...? So in my case, I will draw the frames in Medibang and apply it to blender...?
I don't use an animation software at all, it's a video editing program. In your case, blender is an animation program so I believe you can do everything in that. I use an editing program and drawing program instead haha. I don't know a whole lot about blender so you might need to look up a tutorial specific to that program. or you can use an editing program instead. I hope that makes sense haha.
I know this is a big question but god. How do you go about music with animatics qwq like watched some of your animatics like ❤️❤️❤️ but how do you go about using mainstream music on youtube And ty for the tutorial!
Using copyrighted music just means the vid can't be monetized, it's all safe in terms of strikes because it's transformative, so you're good on that front but yeh! :D
I use a tablet for the drawing and then I have a separate keyboard and mouse I use so I don't have to use the trackpad LOL (so it functionally feels like a pc tbh)
@Stormyth_ oof, I have a laptop and I'm working on a animation as well but I'm doing it on a drawing app on my phone. I'm going to do frames by seperate pictures instead if you what I mean
I usually just download the audio unless I only want a small chunk from an audio that's really long. Honestly, I would just do whatever is easier for you, it doesn't make much of a difference either way, in my experience anyway.
lol mood tho. I think every artist feels that, but animatics are really great for imporving quickly cause you'll be drawing so much so I say go for it anyway!^^
Thank lord you're the only one i've found whose actually explained the processes of directly adding the frames and the techniques of them thank you, thank you!

i was just listening to edit audios and just pictured an animatic so i wrote it down but doesnt have motivation to do it 😭
ahhh, moood!! I hope you find the motivation eventually haha, best of luck!
@@Stormyth_ oh yes it was a claim. so yeah nevermind lol :)
This video was so helpful and explained a bunch ouf stuff really clearly!!
Do you have any tips on syncing audio/lyrics with frames?
I'm glad!!
I would just say to look at the sound waves as reference but I honestly just kinda adjust as I go until I'm happy with it, no real technique haha sorry about that!
Yay thank you
No problem!!
how did you make that character bouncing in each character? I also use premiere pro.
the bit at around the 4 min mark where I talk about having the character glide across the screen, I basically to the same thing but vertically and for a shorter time. I hope that makes sense haha. if you mess around with it a bit using that tool, I think you can get it :D (it's hard to explain without visuals lol)
@@Stormyth_ ooh OK thank you
hi i know maybe im late, i love your video, i want to know which brush do you use when ure sketching and drawing if thats okay?
I use the thick 'n thin inking brush :D
Loved the tutuorial! quick question(s):
1. what app do you use? can you send me the link?
2. holw do you get your transitions?
Thank you, I'm glad!
@@Stormyth_ Thanks for the advice! :D And thank you for replying to my comment so quickly. lol
I have a question, what brushes do you primarily use when you draw?
I mostly use the tick n' thin brush for line art and har shadows and then I use the soft round for shading in illustrations! :D
:D I wanna try to make an animatic :D
Yay!! :D
I have a question could u just draw on a drawing app and then like use a edit app or would it not turn out great
that's exactly how I do mine! I've never used a proper animation app lol
I know this is a big question but god.
How do you go about music with animatics qwq like watched some of your animatics like ❤️❤️❤️ but how do you go about using mainstream music on youtube
And ty for the tutorial!
Using copyrighted music just means the vid can't be monetized, it's all safe in terms of strikes because it's transformative, so you're good on that front but yeh! :D
not me trying to make an animatic for tbhk's no.7 intro
Is there any other apps for free that I could use to edit it together? davinci isnt working for me
Not that I have any experience with, I'm sorry. I'm sure if you look up 'free editing software' you could find a ton that might work for you! :D
@@Stormyth_ thank you for the response! I did find something after looking, have a nice day/night/afternoon!
Ah, that's good to hear! And thanks, you too!!^^
my autism sincerely thanks you omg
Is that todoroki and midobro?-
indeed lol
Me who can't even draw a simple ㅇ: [MALAY FOR PIG]
this is great! qq: what kind of brush do you use?
thanks! I use the thick n' thin brush in the photoshop presets! :D
ah! what size should i make my canvas ;;^;;
Imma be real, I'm really bad at that sort of thing, I just kinda take a screenshot of my entire screen and use those demensions lol
Meanwhile me with literally no software trying to put frames together in Canva and wondering why everything is shit
How do you do it on laptop😅 im bad at that
I use a tablet for the drawing and then I have a separate keyboard and mouse I use so I don't have to use the trackpad LOL (so it functionally feels like a pc tbh)
@Stormyth_ oof, I have a laptop and I'm working on a animation as well but I'm doing it on a drawing app on my phone. I'm going to do frames by seperate pictures instead if you what I mean
did u download the audio or screen recorded it? i’m in the middle of making an animatic, and i’m not sure which to use.
I usually just download the audio unless I only want a small chunk from an audio that's really long. Honestly, I would just do whatever is easier for you, it doesn't make much of a difference either way, in my experience anyway.
@@Stormyth_ ok! thank you so much!!!
how do I download songs that are in other animatics i.e My r
I always just use a youtube to mp3 converter online^^
@@Stormyth_ Thank You :)
@@Stormyth_ omg thank you so much
What app are you using?
Me who wants to make animatics..
also me= *HOW DO I DRAWWWW😭✋*
lol mood tho. I think every artist feels that, but animatics are really great for imporving quickly cause you'll be drawing so much so I say go for it anyway!^^
2:30 Is that from Percy Jackson? :)
it is! lol
What app was free? Adobe dissolve?
DaVinci Resolve was the free editing program!^^
Have a question if that’s okay?
sure, what's the question?
Eu tenho um celular e um sonho, então irei tentar
What application do you use
I say at the beginning of the video, I use photoshop and premiere pro haha
@@Stormyth_ omg you did🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️my bad
it's all good!^^
Did you use a tablet to draw or a mouse? If you did use a mouse, how cause its very hard Lol
I use a really baby tablet lol, you can get super small ones for fairely cheap and it's so much better than a mouse haha!
@@Stormyth_ thank god lol
@@Stormyth_ is Krita a good software to make animatics along with using a Wacom intuos tablet?
@@lightningringeopal3601 if that's the drawing program you're most comfortable with then for sure!! :D
