The Old forester is my favorite out of this line up. Their 1910 and 1920 are phenomenal. Johnny Drum to me has some herbal notes that throws some people off. Surprised you liked it.
Old Forester 100 and Wild Turkey 101 are hands down, the best bang for your buck if you're looking for a quality bourbon under $25. OF 1910 & 1920 are truly phenomenal, but they'll also run $60 a bottle.
@@samn5362 Obviously, which is why I said, "the best bang for your buck if you're looking for a quality bourbon under $25." It's not about comparing 101 to Rare Breed.
I bought a bottle of Benchmark Bonded last week. It was ~$19 in North GA. It is a pretty darned good bourbon. I still prefer Evan Williams bottled in Bond, but the BM was a nice change. My go to splurge Bourbon is Larceny, most of the time it is under $30.
Knob Creek 9 and 12 years, Four Roses Single Barrel, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, OF 1920 & 1910, WR Double Oaked, Rittenhouse Rye - my go to’s Old Grand Dad 114 - barrel proof bourbon at a great price and it’s a high rye mash bill. Right around $40 - absolute banger
I remember my 1st time tasting Old Forester. I tasted it blind next to an $80 Wild Turkey product. The Old Forester 100 is always in my cabinet. It's great to sip, and makes a mean old fashioned.
Couple things, definitely do a rye edition and also do a cask strength edition. You seemed to like higher proof so Cask Strength seems up your alley. For ryes, sagamore double oak is amazing, Rittenhouse rye, rare breed rye, Sazerac rye, all good options Also, if you want to smell less alcohol, when you go to smell it, open your mouth slightly, it should be less harsh.
For under $30 the new Jack Daniel’s bonded rye is phenomenal! Ryes are generally 2 categories. Straight or finished. Finished ryes are fun to try because there’s so many of them. For a finished rye I’d highly recommend Barrel Seagrass. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it.
@@evanwigerYou would be surprised. Old No7 sucks, but their Single Barrel, Barrel Strength in both the bourbon and the rye are great. I’ve been hearing good things about their bonded line as well. Plus, you would be surprised how many brands of whiskey are made from JD barrels.
I am more of a Woodford Reserve Evan Williams myself, but love all bourbons. If you want some rye in it, Woodford Reserve has some. I want to say 30%. Not under $40 though I don't believe, more in the $45 range. The Double Oak is the bomb, but definitely not under 40, more in the $55-$60 range, but worth every penny. Of course any bourbon is not going to be all rye, or mostly rye, as in order for it to be called bourbon it has to be at least 50.1% corn. Pretty sure Woodford is 55% corn, 30% Rye, 15% barley. Been awhile since I have been there. They do make a Rye Whiskey however.
If you can find the Elijah Craig Rye it's delicious! There seems to be a shortage of it in Michigan currently. I went to 3 stores tonight looking for it and couldn't find even a single bottle! I still have a half a bottle so it's not panic time yet. After tomorrow with the in-laws will be panic time lol.
Ol Forester 86 is the best bang for the buck bourbon hands down! I've done the research and have the documents! Cheaper than the 100 in the video and better in my opinion.
One surprisingly good rye, is Crown Royal North Harvest Rye. I tasted exactly what they mentioned, and it has a sweet, fruity, sorta floral smell it. Almost like it's trying to be the "apple pie" of rye whiskey, with apple being the lower taste. It ain't that bad, at all.
Basil Hayden's Dark Rye, is a pretty decent one, so is Knob Creek small batch Rye. I would pick 4-5 Ryes you might like, I would do $60 and under, and do a blind taste test of them head to head so that way, there will be no outside influence at all on which one you ultimately like the best.
Personally I am a fan of the Benchmark Full Proof. Here local its about $25 a bottle and comes in at 125 proof. I had low expectations from it and was pleasantly surprised.
I like Old Forster so much , one time i got the bottle as present, shame that is not available in Europe, is so hard to get here , but i would buy it everytime over Johnnie ,jack or Jameson
Can't wait for your future Rye video! I've heard nothing but great things from the Sagamore Distillery. You should also try some from the American Malt Whisky category and Texas Whisky as well.
Rich & Rare Reserve has been my go-to the past decade. I should own stock in the company. If someone were to give me a bottle of Crown Royal, I would be quick to trade it for R&R Reserve. I'm not drinking it right now. But that's only because i finished the bottle i had late last night.
Hey Boss you want the best Rye try "Jack Daniel's Twice Barreled Rye" or their" Single Barrel Rye" both good. Also "Michters Single Barrel Rye" is a top contender from and more affordable then the other 2.
I never understood why people need to drink expensive whiskey when cheaper stuff like this can be just as good or better😊
Four Roses single barrel is really good. Also I do like the Buffalo Trace as well.
I really like Four Roses small batch
Both are my go to
I love four roses
That’s the one that Paulie likes in all the Rocky movies. I have yet to try it.
Yeah, that Single Barrel is unbelievable for the price.
I see the Boss, i click the video
No matter what I try I keep going back to the Wild Turkey 101. For me, it’s number 1 followed by Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, and Evan Williams.
Jim beam black
There are plenty of good Rye's under 40 bucks. I don't even know where to begin. More Bourbon Boss videos please.
Old Grandad 114! Best bottom
shelf and it packs the proof.
Yup. The only other bargain bourbon I like nearly as much is Jim Beam Devil's Cut, but that's only 90 proof.
Ive always stood by Wild Turkey 101. But I've got a bottle of that 114 too, it'll get you where you need to go.
The Old forester is my favorite out of this line up. Their 1910 and 1920 are phenomenal.
Johnny Drum to me has some herbal notes that throws some people off. Surprised you liked it.

OF 1910 & 1920 are truly phenomenal, but they'll also run $60 a bottle.
Wild turkey rare breed 116 proof blows 101 out of the water. I have found it around $50-$60 a bottle. It is the best bottle out there
@@samn5362 Obviously, which is why I said, "the best bang for your buck if you're looking for a quality bourbon under $25."

DO ANOTHER ONE WITH THIS LIST
watching cuz's buz go up while tasting bourbon is worth watching whole video
I remember my 1st time tasting Old Forester. I tasted it blind next to an $80 Wild Turkey product. The Old Forester 100 is always in my cabinet. It's great to sip, and makes a mean old fashioned.
Yes sir!!! More of this!!

Good recommendations. Solid tips.
A review of Bottled-in-Bond bourbons/whiskeys from different price points. That would be cool. Great work!
Old Forrester makes a really fun rye for like ~$30 actually, it’s my go to when I give up tryna buy whiskey
Old Forester 1920 is a delight.
I have that, and Heaven Hills BiB sitting right in front of me as we speak! Both are great bourbons for the price.
Go to for sipping or for an old fashioned. Good stuff!
1920 and 1910 worth every penny!
But not under 40 dollars 😢
Tasty but 2+ times the cost of the 86 proof.
I tried to get into ryes and I just didn’t like them…. Until I tried Old Forester’s Rye, that stuff is delicious!!
For under $30 the new Jack Daniel’s bonded rye is phenomenal! Ryes are generally 2 categories. Straight or finished. Finished ryes are fun to try because there’s so many of them. For a finished rye I’d highly recommend Barrel Seagrass. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it.
nothing jack daniels is good

maybe on a rainy day@@adamr9215
Old Forester Rye is definitely your best bang for your buck. About $22 a bottle and one of the best out there. Period.
Number one suggestion for your request for tips, ask Ashla! ✌️
I'm a fan of bulleit rye! Bulleit products in general are great.
Me too!
wild turkey 101 for the win
I am more of a Woodford Reserve Evan Williams myself, but love all bourbons.

That's my old, reliable rye. Seems always available in California for like $23. Damn state needs to ship u some!
I’m getting the Weller SR for $22.99 at my ABC. It’s my daily sipper along with RR10.
Need more videos like this asap Boss 🤘 do a 20 dollar one. Ezra Brooks, Evan Williams, Heaven Hill, Old Crow, call it Rot Gut Reviews.
When I was broke I use to drink Old Crow lol, it use to be about 7 bucks a fifth and it tasted similar to Jim Beam.
Double bullet is my favorite don't know how much it cost a bottle was given to me from a friend it was soo good
Zero reaction your the man.
Jack Daniels, Nashville Barrel Company, and Sagamore Spirits are making my favorite Ryes. Loved the video!
Consider yourself fortunate my friend. Here in Michigan, anything Weller has a 3-digit price tag if you can even find it.
Ol Forester 86 is the best bang for the buck bourbon hands down! I've done the research and have the documents! Cheaper than the 100 in the video and better in my opinion.
Buffalo Trace is real good cheap burbon as well as Elijah Craig I like both for sippin dirty. I have a bottle of Elijah on the fridge right now.
Evan Williams bottle and bond is my go to 100 proof. 1.75L $37.99
Evan Williams bottled in bond is a great one under $40
Ur doing us proud BOSS
Gotta love them lot lizards 😂😂
Elijah Craig will always be my #1 go-to.

Black velvet is a good one too brings back a lot of memories some are good some are bad

Michter's cask strength RYE is the best on the market, runs 150 a bottle, hard to get but worth every penny
Personally I am a fan of the Benchmark Full Proof. Here local its about $25 a bottle and comes in at 125 proof. I had low expectations from it and was pleasantly surprised.
Old grand dad 114
I always loved 4roses and knob creak smoked maple
I like Old Forster so much , one time i got the bottle as present, shame that is not available in Europe, is so hard to get here , but i would buy it everytime over Johnnie ,jack or Jameson
Good choices! Try Old Tub, 4yr and 100 proof for only $25 in Ohio. Rebel 100 only $20 and Jim Beam Black for $20. Have fun!
Can't wait for your future Rye video! I've heard nothing but great things from the Sagamore Distillery. You should also try some from the American Malt Whisky category and Texas Whisky as well.
Angels Envy has a great rye whiskey. Perfect for the cold months
My opinion the best sipping Rye for a bourbon drinker is Pikesville
I like these bourbon and whiskey videos.
Have you ever tried Japanese whiskey? If not you definitely should give a few a try.
You need to try the barrel proof Elijah Craig, and Stagg.
Definitely need more like this and still would love to see him do his favorite store bought beers
I got Elijah Craig at a family dirty Santa a couple years ago and it's really good imo. Especially for the price.
Definitely want to see more bourbon tastings. Give James Pepper or Henry McKenna if you want a good rye bourbon
Angels Envy Rye is my fave.
For under 40 $ ancient age, Evan Williams 100 proof an wild turkey are some of my picks an when I find it old crow for a cheap bottle
whistle Pig Rye is my Go to ... around 80 bucks but worth it imo.
Get some Canadian Hunter
Bulliet and Woodford reserve are my two choices..just saying
You should try Old Grand Dad Bottled in Bond. Or... Old Grand Dad 114
Old grandad is a keeper under $40
Higher proof typically comes with more flavor. Probably why you like them more.
Elijah Craig rye whiskey is on point.
Wild Turkey 101.
Semper Fi
i want to try the weller
Report back when you do!
Will do
Very partial to Coopers Craft 100 or Knob Creek 120 around that price point, may be a couple bucks over or under depending
Elijah Craig all day! You got that right!
Rich & Rare Reserve has been my go-to the past decade. I should own stock in the company. If someone were to give me a bottle of Crown Royal, I would be quick to trade it for R&R Reserve. I'm not drinking it right now. But that's only because i finished the bottle i had late last night.
High proof and cheap try old grandad 116. My favorite rye is Old Forester Rye when I can find it
More videos Boss!!! My suggestions are as follows;
Eagle Rare
Early Times Bottle in Bond (blue label)
Angels Envy Rye
E.H. Taylor
Willett Rye
Not a bad list.
My parents love buffalo trace
High west campfire. Try it you won’t be disappointed
New Riff rye, New Riff Single Barrel Rye, whistle pig piggy back and Sazaracs should make the list for Ryes.
Good rye is Jack Daniels Barrel Proof Rye!
Evan Williams for me.
Wild turkey 101 rye is really good. For the price.
Elijah Craig rye one of my favorite
I like James E. Pepper 1776 Rye
Look like you got it down! Strait up to the point. Rare breed rye and Emerald Giant from Redwood empire are my current go to ryes. Cheers!
James E Pepper 1776 Rye is my favorite
Slow and low rock and rye is a good rye

Try the high proofs
"Old Grandads farmhouse drink"

Shaken over ice.
Pendleton 1910 rye is a must
Rye is better cold makes it smoother
Try some Paul Masson Grande Amber.
Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye is seriously some of the best rye for $70
Hey Boss you want the best Rye try "Jack Daniel's Twice Barreled Rye" or their" Single Barrel Rye" both good. Also "Michters Single Barrel Rye" is a top contender from and more affordable then the other 2.
Should really connect with brewzle and do some tasting would be a great show I think
Beep, beep, beep, Cork, beep, beep...😂😂😂 Drunk Alabama Boss is best...🤓
Wild turkey rare breed. It’s high proof.
I’d like to see a Canadian Whiskey review 🤷♂️

Great ryes to try
Whistle Pig
13th Colony Rye
Elijah Graig rye
Angels envy
Basil Hayden’s dark rye
Just to name a few
Good video. If you do a Rye comparison, definitely look at JD Bonded Rye, Old Overholt, and Rittenhouse for under 40.
Just give me Wild Turkey and a dixie cup to drink it with.
101 and rare breed are my go to.
Straight to the point. I like it.
Jim Beam offers a good rye whiskey.
