The floor tile is very nice also. As for the window with the crucifixion scene, the place where Christ was crucified is traditionally called Golgotha in Hebrew it meant "skull" or "skull place" The Roman name is Calvary so Bald Head or skull. The skull at the foot of the Cross may have been to represent the name Golgotha. As is traditional Mary and Saint John on either side of the cross.

The war graves are looked after by, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. They have teams of volunteers all over the UK.
