    It is hard to imagine that they are so excited about about selling around 1000 rubel worth, from my understanding around 10e worth. I mean of course cost of living is lower there, but it's most certainly difficult to get my head around it. It is so sad how pensioners are struggling all over the world. They struggle themselves and they are still working hard to help the younger generations. That was so sweet of of you. Those ladies probably think that an Angel visited them. I wish you have told them what you are doing. It would make them feel even better to know that their wonderful goodies are going to some needy children in the orphanage. When I visited Trinidad and Tobago I saw a lot of poverty. I saw stands with fresh coconut water. I felt bad when I visited the first one, I saw the other men (from other coconut stands looking at me), so I visited all of them and paid them five times more than they were asking. I have such a good life, great job...it's least I can do. I understand your desire to help people. That is why I enjoy your channel so much. You are not only helping, but inspiring people to do the same.

Also, they almost always can't believe there isn't a catch somehow. I'm glad you are showing them that there are good and generous people in the world. All of the people you help will be telling these stories for many years and possibly these stories will be passed down through generations. They will tell of an angel who came into their lives and blessed them. I'm hoping your good example will prompt many other people, including myself, to be more generous.

    The elderly have such knowledge and skill. I wish that villages could offer facilities and land that would allow the elderly that have skills to be able to share their knowledge with young people.
    The elderly perhaps could help each other if they organize and communicate.
    If they organize perhaps doctors, nurses and other
    Professionals could spare some of their valuable time
    time to help the poor elderly.
    Even ordinary people could volunteer a few hours of work toward Community Service.
    This man needs volunteers in every community to help him address the humanitarian activities that he is bringing to our attention.

      To be fair, it is worth admitting that this concept is purely human. In the wild, it is most likely absent. Only society and the person himself in society determine what is fair and what is not. Everyone can have their own notions of justice and they can fight for them to the best of their abilities or abandon them.

    In the US it's called social security, we all pay into it and you can start collecting about age 62 depending on circumstances. Ppl who take it early get less than $700 month. Rent costs more than that.
    It's sad to see that your elderly aren't any better off 😔

    • @something2knownow
      @something2knownow 2 года назад +7

      The average Russian pension in 2021 was 15,744.6 rubles a month. That’s $194 a month. Russian elders are much worse off. In some villages indoor plumbing might not be available and gas, electricity, food, clothing are all costly. The quality of life is better in some ways (simpler, more rural) but the level of abject poverty is really something many Americans can’t even comprehend. Few Americans would agree to live for long in a Babushka’s small urban flat or primitive village hut.Average American SS payment is around $1,200 to $1,500 a month. Still low but not peanuts.

    • @grannykiminalaska
      @grannykiminalaska 2 года назад +7

      @@something2knownow but prices are, on average here, much higher. In Alaska and Hawaii even worse.
      It's all relative. No one could live on $1200 a month. Rent , food, medical, electric, natural gas, etc
      Everyone thinks Americans are rich. That's a joke. I only got indoor plumbing 2 years ago and don't have city electricity yet, it's just too expensive.
      Rural life in the US isn't much better. We do have more options to beg help but it's still begging.
      How many of your seniors would travel a half hour on foot to stand outside in an hour line at 10*f to get a food box that would almost feed 2 people for 3 days? I've done that just to keep groceries in the house because the cost of heat took my last penny.
      It's all relative.

    Sergei you're doing a excellent job showing real life in Russia . The main thing I've learned from your videos is that Russians and Americans are not that different . For the most part both just want to be able to provide for the ones they love, have some sort of happiness , and peace . It's a shame governments cause so much conflict and chaos between people who otherwise would probably be friends .

    The Russian government needs to take better care of the children & the elderly. The pension given to the elderly is the equivalent of about $95 usd a month. Despicable! These people work all their lives which produces revenue for their corrupt politicians to steal and add to their personal wealth. Here in the US the least a person gets is about $850 (SSI) but there is also a ton of other help for them. Snap benefits for food, government housing which is usually really decent, help with utilities, food banks if their snap benefits aren't enough. For those with Medicare they're even provided with in home help so they don't have to go into nursing homes. Senior centers also offer a daily hot meal for very little or nothing. Even delivered if they're homebound.
