    The axle is rated for 3500 pounds. We'll include a wrap up of some details in the final
    video.

    I finished building my camper trailer 2 year ago have put about 2 thousand ks on it .the axle and spring manufacturer recommended to put rear hanger mount rearward so the hanger/shackle was angled toward the front of trailer.any feedback would be great trailer handles great on real shitty aussie dirt roads

    I thought that welding across hanger ends is more likely to lead to long term ceacking on the frame rail bottom face than if you welded only along the sides of the hangers

    • @Missymoo156
      @Missymoo156 3 месяца назад

      I wouldn't reccomend welding across a chassis like that, have repaired several torn out hangers welded in that way.

    wouldn't it make more sense if your not comfortable welding this critical area to use the two half inch holes provided and bolts? i know that this is a welding video but the bolts generally are more than sturdy enough for lightweight trailers or why would they give you holes to mount them that way? two grade 8 bolts would need some serious failure , likely a severely overloaded trailer and the frame would go before the bolts do....

    • @everlastgenerator
      @everlastgenerator  8 лет назад +2

      +twilson1118 These are not designed for bolts. These must be welded on to be properly mounted. Instructions from mfgr. are not for bolting.

      I plug welded one hole and out a grade 8 bolt in the other. It seems to holding up fine.

    Everlast Power Equipment - Why didn't you square up the axle with the tongue?

    • @everlastgenerator
      @everlastgenerator  7 лет назад +6

      The trailer is squared, and the axle is squared to the trailer and the tongue is squared to the trailer. If you start by squaring the tongue to the trailer, and then the axle to the tongue, then you increase the chance of being off more each time you remove it off the original point of reference. If you square everything back to the same point (the trailer) you'll have less cumulative margin of error.

    How should the axle be placed under the trailer?… there’s a sticker on it…. Should it be legible from the front or back. The axle is bowed a certain way from factory.

    Why didn't you show the intalation of the axle?

    • @everlastgenerator
      @everlastgenerator  10 лет назад +1

      It did show putting the bolts in the shackles, mock up etc. Did you want to see bolt by bolt tightening etc? That's a step we felt that most people can handle by themselves. This is sort of an overview isn't intended to be 100% in detail, or the series would be in excess of 30 hours long. We have to keep things moving along for the most part...unless there is a critical detail. The intention is for people to read their directions on their axle installation kit. Bolt tightening etc, depends on factory specifications.

    • @everlastgenerator
      @everlastgenerator  10 лет назад +1

      aintgonnahappen I am sure what part was critical. You simply put the axle into the hangers and tighten the locknuts on the bolts until they are snug according to the kit manufacturers directions. The fitup was already demonstrated in the video.
