Those clocks had rolling spiked cylinder that activates the draw-bars that causes opening and closing the valves of each and every organ pipes. Such clocks are known as pipe-organ clocks. In some clocks the spiked cylinder picked the toothed comb directly to play melody. In some clocks the spiked cylinder activated the hammers that strikes on tuned set of more than 24 bells or stretched strings. The clock that plays melody on tuned set of bells are known as carrilon clock. The clock that plays melody on stretched strings is known as harp clock. Nowadays the sound of such clocks are recorded and programmed in electronic circuit board of sound chips connected to speaker and installed in quartz clocks.
