@@djsilent01 I wouldn't really compare them to be honest dude. I use the 737 as a tube pre-amp and occasionally the opto compressor. Saying that, the EQ is also excellent. I wish somebody would make a plugin of the Avalon AD2077 mastering EQ.
Thank you brother and thank you for watching. Hopefully the presets can be a good springboard or starting point on some of your projects. Thanks again.
'Just found this video. Well done - thank you! You included a very nice set of examples. I've had this one for a while, but it hasn't been in my list of go-to's... until now! - Kudos!
Thanks again bro! What would you advice as the 'best' mastering EQ? I'm really on the fence on what i should buy. Just one, pure for mastering. What would you advice my man?
Hey. Obviously it is entirely subjective, but if I had to choose one it would be the Amek 200. It does clean really nicely, but also the THD can add some nice spice. Also the low end is very tight at around 1.4Q. I love the new SPL PQ as well, but if I could only have one, the 200.
This along with the VSM 3 from Vertigo are M/S secret weapons. Try the HiFi Your Mix preset on the VSM 3 + this LISA. You'll want to make a video just on that
@@TheCratesMotel your channel is in my top list) I would like to watch new videos more often 😁 but I guess you got a lot of work. And yeah, this plugin is versatile and sounds actually good… it’s not crapping the sound as “universal plugins 100 in 1”…
@@TheCratesMotel I dont think the new one (the SPL one?) is dynamic, right? Or did you mean a new Tomo eq?? This one (lisa) is reallllllly nice on the mix bus!!
Sounds great but man this thing needs a re-skin. I get it's modelled off hardware but it's horribly designed from a UX perspective. Way too noisy with no visual hierarchy at all. Even on the real thing the encoders are too big making it look cramped and confusing. I was literally going to buy it but I just felt like I was going cross-eyed every timed I tried to use it.
Hey thanks for watching. Yeh I get you, it is pretty “over crowded”. I guess it’s a tough one because if they hadn’t made the GUI accurate to the hardware you would have purists moaning “It’s not authentic” lol. I guess it’s a weigh up between authenticity and UX.
@@lindsayandrews5707 I’m not personally bothered by it myself either. I think everything is where it should be, but I get that some people have preferences on their GUIs. It’s personal taste I guess.
Maybe I am a noob but I just wont to wrap my head around it. Since this is not EQ as you said. Should I use EQ before it (I have Amek 200) and then use Lisa to spice it up dynamically? And of course I am planning to use master compressor before all of it. Or maybe best way to use lisa is on pre-master mixbus? Just trying to find a place for it in my mixing/mastering chain. Hey buddy, thank you for watching and subscribing. Lisa is a dynamic EQ basically, but it can be used simply as an EQ if you don’t activate the compression section. The whole “Don’t call it an EQ” tag is a marketing thing that PA and Tomo use. There’s no right or wrong so you can use the Amek and the Lisa if the track needs it. For instance the hi shelf on the Amek is lovely but I prefer the bottom on the Lisa. The best thing to do is experiment and remember in mastering, less is more (most of the time). Cheers.
@@TheCratesMotel I tested it and I am astonished! Probably best algo EQ I've heard! However it takes a lot of CPU, up to 17-20 percent. How many instances can you runa at once with other plugins? Just wondering if it's mu CPU or I am unable to add more than 2 while using other (very efficient) plugins. Just checking what you think about CPU usage? For now it looks like really only for mastering. It's seems to be too heavy for mixing and 2-6 instances on busses. At least for me. I am curious how is it for you for mixing? I have Intel i9.
@@mikelo303 hey, yes it’s definitely heavier on CPU than a general EQ, but it has so much going on underneath the hood and I would personally use it as a specialist EQ, so I would be unlikely to run more than a few instances. My computer is not super powerful but I’ve ran four instances and other plugins without noticing any issues.
This thing on 8 0 8s....oooooooo weeeeeeeeee. I Don't even touch the MF/mid frequencies. Lo and HI for the most part should be processed via this plugin.
I would say that about every Plugin-Alliance plugin. I wish they had two versions of the GUI. One for people who want to pretend they own the hardware. And another for people that want to take advantage of the modern controls and metering that "in the box" is capable of.
Just bought this after a 14 minute demo. Loving it so far. PA are really pushing the boundaries with their plugins.

Oddly, I don't find it horrible at all. It's not that much different from any parametric EQ, to my eyes. It's well organized, like any decent Para.
