In Utah we have canyons which are beautiful. But they too have no barriers and they have drop off points to them.
I think I have PTSD because in drivers Ed there was one incident. It was with one student where I was a passenger.
I drove carefully up the canyon. The other student wasn't so careful going down the canyon. He was careening down the canyon as the drivers Ed teacher was just looking down at his book.
I was terrified. I can't believe we made it out without going off the side.

I drove the Blue Ridge Mountains the Fall of 1996 through West Virginia and Virginia the leaves and views were fantastic. I prefer the drives over sites. Before becoming disabled I would drive back roads both pave and dirt just to see where they go. Now I watch videos of people driving mountain backroads.
Loved your Blue Ridge Parkway trip! We have traveled part of it on vacation. I am thinking the person you saw sitting and reading by the view might have been drawing or painting. It looked like an awesome place for a picnic, too! Thanks for taking us for a ride!!!

My family took a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway back in the late 80’s and I still remember how beautiful it was. We rode it from its beginning in North Georgia, all the way up to Virginia. There are so many incredible natural wonders to see along those mountains! Stunning waterfalls, cool caves, there’s even an observation tower atop Mount Mitchell, the tallest mountain east of the Rockies, where I watch clouds flying up one side of the ridge, and down the other. And you are right, the elevations might not be as impressive as the Rockies, but what IS to impressive is the AGE of the Appalachian Mountains. The Rockies may be bigger, but these mountains are older than the dinosaurs. They are older than trees. These mountains are OLDER THAN BONES.

I lived in Tennessee for ten years and the Smokey Mountains were the best part of living there. They are at their prettiest during the Spring and Autumn.

Hi Jenn😊 If you will look for some Wild grown honey from your area. ( Not pasteurized) Take a tablespoonful every morning. It will really help with your allergies. It slowly introduces your system to the local pollens and desensitizes you from them. I live in the mountains in TN. I used it for most of my life😊 Congrats on 10k You rock 🎉❤

I grew up very close to the Parkway and have been on it many times. I hate to break it to you, but I’ve never seen a bear there. I know they’re in the woods but they don’t often venture to the side of the road. It also cracked me up you called it an expressway! With a max speed of 45, it is far from express 😂!
North Carolina has a lot of beautiful waterfalls. You should check those out. I think you’d really enjoy seeing them. 🌻🙂💜
Great video. How exciting. We had planned to drive the parkway this summer. We decided to wait and go to Biltmore Christmas in November because that is on my wife’s bucket list.
We have a place called the Alpine Loop that is around 7500 elevation at the top. We drive it at least once a year if not more. It is a great escape from the heat in the summer. That is such a pretty drive, enjoy!
Jenny Penny! You need to take a drive to the North Carolina welcome center on the Tennessee state line side has beautiful rhododendron flowers along the side of the road and at the welcome center in late May early June. Also there is a rhododendron flower festival on top of Roan mountain in tennessee/NC in June 22-23. Go early it gets busy quickly! We live in Kingsport, TN and love to go there every year.
Bakersville on the NC side of the Roan also has a smaller version of the Rhododendron Festival that same weekend. They even have a street dance with square dancing!

5:16 Back in December 2015, I drove some of the Blue Ridge Parkway on that trip before visiting a friend in Charleston, SC. I think when the weather gets really bad, they had a gate at each of the parkway entrances they can close during inclement weather. I actually drove it during some fog and I thought I was on airplane because of the fog on that trip.
I enjoyed your trip along the parkway today. It's wonderful seeing everything that I know about through your eyes which makes it all new again. I'm hoping you'll attend the White Squirrel Festival in Brevard NC this weekend. It's the same town you went to and saw the tensil christmas trees.. If you ever needed to a tour guide just let me.. I know where the cool toy stores are. know..

Beautiful drive. Very relaxing on the mind. In NZ we call those rest area's. If one is high enough to over look something it's a look out.😂 Funny how it's all the same just called different things! When I moved from Horowhenua to Tararua I got bad allergies and had to take medication. We call it petrol you call it gas. I thought moons ago you use gas like a bbq😂😂. I thought wow how do they not blow up when I was a child.😂😂😂 Thanks Jenny for the enjoyable vlog.

NW PA girl here.. just visited Cades Cove a couple weeks ago and my daughter and I did the 11 mile loop on an e-bike. We saw at least 12 bear and I almost ran into a mom and her 3 cubs crossing the road as I was on a downhill going pretty fast. I screeched to a stop about 10 feet away from them and I thought I was going to die.
I’m excited to go! Now that it’s not raining maybe I can!

Looks like Jacob is went to a Popeye museum you should definitely go with him some time and get some comics and Popeye figures for your collection form the Popeye museum I bet you two would have a lot of fun maybe you two could dress up in costume and I think Jacob could pull off Popeye . You could olive oyl or Haley Davidson Betty boop . Just have fun with just an idea . Maybe dress your cabbage patch doll up a seatpea .

Another way to help with allergies, if you like honey, find some locally sourced raw, unfiltered honey 🍯. One tablespoon a day and it will start to help with the allergies 😸

You could try washing your face, showering, or changing your clothes when you come home or go indoors after being outside to get some of the pollen off of you. But hopefully you find an allergy medication that works for you.
I use Montelukast 10mg. Rx required. It seems to help. I love your videos. Thank you
