10/10 for using the Rising Storm soundtrack, I used to grind Japan years ago while listening to "Rising Storm", "Imperial Honor", and "Banzai" on loop.
I remembered the Germans have their own squadron like the Leonidas Squadron where their mission was to crash into enemy ships along with their planes. But since the Normandy campaign, the only mission the Leonidas Squadron had was when they rammed a bridge to block the Soviet advance
The Luftwaffe had several units ment for this. The pilots on the other hand were ordered to eject from their plane. They probably found out the hardway of the difficulty of doing that
The japanese actually did in ww2 with the aerial ramming group equipped with ki-45 toryus but they didnt just ran any enemy plane the only ramed medium - heavy bombers
My expectations: Reality: ramming a plane i die and he survives Edit: i rammed a fw 200c earlier with a il2 but he ended up alive with 2 engine destroyed but i died

Fun fact: both the Germans and the Soviets used suicide bombers in ww2, with the Soviets actually using suicide pilots before the Japanese. But then again it wasn't actually suicide bombing but rather just aerial ramming. The Germans also used aerial ramming and actually had a special unit called sonderkommando Elbe which specialised in ramming Bf 109s into American long-distance bombers. I hope you learned something new! Also I might have gotten something wrong so feel free to correct me if you know better.
In fact, Soviet pilots rammed only voluntarily and mainly during critical damage, when it was impossible to survive, because the pilot is like several planes. I don't know about the Germans, but Soviet pilots were taught that they were too expensive to waste their lives.

@Emma UwU the german did try to use kamakazi but to ally bombers the pilots are intrusted to jump out of the cocpit before the planes ram into each other but of course, very few mange to jump out and even les manege to survie because most are shot while in parachute by ally fighter
