“Having backups is 100% crucial” soooooo true. Lost 70GB of footage and raw photos, working on recovery, but I still might not get everything back.
Preach brotha 👏🏻
10 gigs of ram? I sure love when Mac users talk about computers. It's like "Okay guys! Here's a potato with googly eyes glued on, cool huh? buy a mac because feelings." XD I love Zach, but dat shits hilarious
Taylor Williams had me cracking up, like yeah let me buy a 2gb ram stick or something
Yeah also I love the mac pro pitch for "mobile editing" or maybe unless you need to deliver to a client right away you can have a dedicated PC to handle the work load.
Great Video, thank's for sharing the knowledge brother. Very helpful
I love you. Thank you for sharing your workspace. Stay safe.
I just found your channel and it’s literally one of the best, keep it up bro! Just subscribed :)
Good stuff, clear and concise explanation. But some visuals of your monitor setup would help. I'm not sure what you mean by using one monitor to organize your edit, and another to organize your footage. I assume the former shows a view of your project folder, while the latter shows a view of the Finder window?
Beautiful.
I definitely need more ram and a stronger hard drive. Silly question. How can a new client provide you with storage?
Am setting up a homeediting studio. And this helped a ton. Thanks man
Dude, love your work. Can I ask what the first thing you edit. Audio or visual or other? I'm struggling with audio so it's getting all my attention.
its worth sync'ing the audio in a sequence or compound CLip(FinalCut), then go through and edit the visuals. if you're thinking of music (and thats what you mean by audio)...i'd highly recomend finding a music track first and then editing your footage to that!
Dudeeee! Loving these videos! What I love most is how you intergrate small yet very informative tips throughout like the bad/good headphone audio playback tip. Keeps me watching as I don't want to miss out them! Keep it up! 🙏
Nice Vertigo! best movie ever.
GREAT!
awesome tips, thank you for sharing :D
I am not sure what compression you are using but there are lots of artifacts and posterization on your shirt.
Also, I have noticed on lots of you8r videos focus is more than 50% of the tme off. What gear you use and focus mode? You should look into it, or up the DOF. Just making a note of if because is pretty distracting, in case you havent noticed it yet. Otherwise, I like your videos.
My new favorite channel, thanks!
Hey man, I am a 15 year old kid with a really small budget. Do you think that having 16 gbs of ram and 4 cores, and then an i7 is still usable with premiere? Thanks
Ofcourse it's enough. Make sure that the storage is SSD though, and that it has a good enough video card. Certified refurbished laptops are good if you're in a budget.
Ernalyn B sweet. Thanks!
If you're buying mac don't use premier use final cut.
Am learning a lot from you, thanks dude
Im really thinking of starting vlog and also get into picture taking landscape pics. Your video are very help. One of the best. I have a few questions for you maybe can help you with topics can you get into more of the programs you use for editing videos or pictures. And also how do you pack up when your on the move. Like what backpack because I’m having trouble packing lite and also have things easy at hand. Appreciate your tutoring bro lol. 🖖🏼peace

Grate info.
hey what camera are you using
Hey Zach, I love your content, it really helps and inspires me as a filmmaker!
Thanks for the tips. I never heard of Palette Gear but it looks really cool. I will definitely check it out.
hey so i have always wonder about graphic cards.. sometimes when i edit the program slows down... i do have a 2017 macbook where i edit... but how can i stop the software from slowing down? is a better graphic card improve that or more space in my computer? i currently delete everything when i am done editing a video bcus i dont have an external hard drive at the moment it takes a lot of space even if the video is only 5 minutes long ... i work with after effects and final cut
Late answer, but still. Adding a graphic card to the mix might/ might not help you at all depending on what software you're using to edit. What I think helps more than a graphic card would be a better processor and more RAM, if the preview is lagging and dropping fps, that's because you need a better processor, and if you're running out or RAM you need to get more, or else it will be the bottleneck in your editing process. Having more space left in the hard drive doesn't make any difference at all.
ITS 2018, I FEEL LIKE THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CRAPPY HEADPHONES LOL. Great content brother, subscribed!
i was working with Avid on a multi monitor set up for a while and for some reason i never got less uncomfortable dragging the mouse from one screen to another :'D which is like idiotic and makes no sense but, there it is... also I feel you with the physical space thing, my room is so small that i had to get rid of a desk set up altogether for the time being and it's mad miserable working like in my bed with my laptop and hard drives and shit scattered all around me. love these videos dude
very interesting channel keep up the good work!!
What's the motorcycle footage at 0:19 from?
Always have the same files on at least 2-3 hdd aswell as a thumb drive and or memory card
The RAM tip is simple not true. From 8GB on there is no measureable advantage (concerning video editing premiere, DR etc ..). See Linus Techtips' Video.
Yeah I was gonna say the exactly same thing. If all you're doing is cutting clips then yeah you don't need more than 8. But if you're using after effects or heavily filtering, layering, and grading a video or picture you'll want at least 16 if not 32
16 gigs of ram? 64 at least for editing 4K raw
16 or 32 is most of the times enough on a Mac.
@@ruhaanchopra8878 Exactly. Most of the times. But when most of the times ain't happening u are screwed. That's why u gotta have more than needed
8:24 - You should try to use zoom transition so your idea can be more incredible... LOL
5:01
i thought you are casey neistat for a sec
Awesome but 16gigs of ram is not that much
Palette gear is kinda expensive
Be careful handling the gears! 😂😂😂
Wait i bought 3 pc for 30 000 bucks and 500 buck microphone rubber keyboard sound pads and room glow
Am I the only one who thinks he looks like MARKIAN, Smile squad?
but to grab a 15 just for on the road
32gb is powerful...16gb of ram is bare minimum
16 gigs? wtf? :) i have 64 and i need more, and why a MAC? pfff
Building a custom PC is way powerful and cheaper
A MacBook for editing? Rlly? Under 3000 is garbage, with 3000 you can get a threadripper
Shit. You're from premium beat
check Loupedeck+ and you will see WHAT YOU "REALY " NEED TO HAVE 🙂
