Because yes He deserves all the praise and glory and comes first before any thing else that we teach our children. And that’s what God wants is for us to teach our children that He is “I AM WHO I AM” and proclaim his goodness from generation to generation!!

I chose to use BJU Press distance learning based on my research and your feedback on the curriculum. I am behind with the pacing guide that comes with the curriculum. Both kids need a little more time than the pacing guide allows. I was feeling bad that were not on track. You sharing your experience has helped me not be so anxious about falling behind. Spot on! I found out that public schools sometimes only get through 40% of their curriculum for a particular subject and I was sitting there stressing over the 10% I hadn’t finished yet! We homeschool moms need to extend ourselves an extra serving of Grace. Thank you for this video! Needed the reminder❤️

We are going through a season that we need to be done with school for the year even though we did not finish all our curriculum. I was discouraged at first just because we didn’t finish our curriculum and that’s really bugged me. But after talking to my husband, praying and listening to your video we are stopping for the year and going to pick it up in the fall. I just wanted to say thank you! Thank you! I really needed this! I try to keep reminding myself that my child has her whole life to learn things! She doesn't have to learn this certain math lesson by the time she is 81/2 years old, etc. ! I want to teach her the way the bible talks about... " when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. Deuteronomy 6:6-9. Just learn as we are living our lives!

This is exactly what I needed to hear!!!! I was just talking to my husband about this last night. My oldest is in her first year of high school and now that her work counts towards HS credit I feel like there is less leniency. We got behind in science, writing and some reading this year due a learning curve of more work this year. She is now on track and a very diligent student. My problem is I like to finish things and we are thinking that she will finish her science and writing through the summer and work for maybe a few hours a week to complete the work for her HS credit. Anyway she has accomplished so much and I didn't know if it was ok to have an end of school ending date and not have her complete those subjects.........but the finisher in me says it is important. She is willing to do the work. Just not sure and need wisdom form other mommas who have been through HS to help me think through this well. :) Thank you for this video!!!!
Lately Ive seen friends post pics of their kids finishing public school grade from elementary to high school graduation which lately been maken me feel like im behind but hearing this just makes me more proud to be homeschooling thank you so much its the encouragement i needed .😊👍❤️

I have health problems as well as struggle with PTSD and I get easily overwhelmed to the point where I am literally frozen in fear and can't make myself do anything without feeling like I am doomed- sounds dramatic but seriously that is how it feels- just like I have been dropped into a deep pit and someone is shoveling dirt in on top of me. I have been able to get to that point of being ok with my son's pace and progress but then all that self doubt starts creeping in telling myself that I am only justifying falling behind. It makes me feel so frustrated, I pray SO HARD and SO OFTEN but I just go through these cycles and I can't seem to get anyone to even want to help because they look at me like I am lazy or am not trusting God when that is almost my catch phrase for anyone, "Pray, lay it down then believe He has it". So I KNOW He has it and will absolutely work out my son's education if I remain faithful in leading him in godliness♡♡♡
No way can we keep up with Abeka’s tests, quizzes, and worksheets! I often feel like we have accomplished something if the kids have finished watching the videos for the day.
I’m right there with you. I’ve even decided next year, I’m building in a life skills month at the end of the school year. We did really well this year, but we have felt the whole month of May that school was getting in the way of life. Is one more spelling test really going to make a difference?!

We are working on character flaws. While we didn't fall behind this year, I can tell you I spent a lot of time in prayer every evening.
I've been having issues since I had a new baby 4 months ago. So basically half way through the school year. Not sleeping well at night due to the 3 year old, almost 2 year old and the 4 month old. My kids sleep in so I've been too. I also have hashimotos hypothyroidism which makes me super tired. I've been praying for wisdom on what to do with this season of time. We're just doing the bare minimum till our break in July and start over in August! That's all I've came up with.
I can SO relate to what you struggle with.... I often wonder WWWHHHHYYYYY God called me to this now when I am at the apex of health issues>> lack of sleep>> wacky appetite>> zero energy>> depression all while being an Army wife whose hubby is gone almost 1/3 of the year... I'll be praying for you♡
I will say though, if my daughter was in elementary, I would not be concerned about falling behind whatsoever. But she is a sophomore and trying to stay on top of her academics and her lessons every day can sometimes be a struggle. We’ve had the virus, we’ve had a death in the family just this past week , etc. We are probably about a month behind in most everything. But your video is very encouraging again, thank you!
I don't know if it's an excuse or a combination of excuses and the reality of my bipolar causing a great fall back. I started to slip back into depression for about 1 solid month now . and I barely do school now. my mind is jumbled, my heart is willing, my motivation is a mustard seed. I am greatly discouraged because I'm not like most women on here who AREA habitually homeschooling and consistent at least. ....to some extent. when I started homeschool things were going great and paced. I feel SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO guilty. because it's a reality that my bright daughter is not being challenged. .and when there is a subject that need to be learned...sometimes I just don't understand the foundational way to teach it.i give up too easy.curl up in my depressive state trying hard to cling to the good days..the more consistent days. she went to an amazing Christian school for K-1.she learned the foundations that I know for sure we're too advanced for me to teach . couldn't afford the school anymore and my husband was in full support of me teaching,we wanted to years so but it wasn't God's timing. I know deep in my heart God has chosen me to homeschool, forever? I do not know..but this year, second grade year....yes. I have not joined a homeschool group. I believe I'd greatly benefit. yet I do not do it. my husband begaN to catch on to us hardly ever having class. So he talked to our pastor,his mentor and counselor(he has many degrees very intelligent man)....and they both talked with me about how bright she is and how she can't afford to have her education not advance since she is advanced. etc. thing is this is true...yet I do not know what to do right now about it. it's easy to say just do it. it's so hard with having stable periods where school is done regularly and then only sometimes when I'm not doing ok. I then make it habit. God, my husband and kids are my world. I invision homeschool being at least...consistent. I understand the feeling of the education not being enough or are we holding them up etc I'm crying out for more than that.sorry for typos,cheap phone.
I'm praying right now that God would give you and your husband discernment when it comes to your daughter and her education and that you would also be in unity in your decision. Hugs!
Just bought the spell to write and read for next year curriculum. Was wondering if you could do a video on how you use the curriculum. The videos on swr endorsed are not great quality and need something a little clearer to see and hear to make sure I'm getting it better teaching it to the kiddos. I've watched all your other swr videos and need just a little more. That would be great and very helpful.
What if the parent is the problem? I feel so overwhelmed and inadequate. This is my first full year. We didn't get too far into the curriculum. I feel I'm failing my child.

Unschooling! Just give yourself a grace period and don’t stress it :)
