  • Here is a detailed look at how each of my kids uses their My Student Logbook for homeschooling. My 3rd and 5th grader use it as a checklist while my 7th grader uses it to record her grades.

    Howdy! I looked into these and I bought the one purchase price so I could just print a book for child. Would have bought their remade, for each if I could have;). Printed each child’s on a different color paper, they chose. I also added a homework log page for each day. Put them together so the pages are together and it is working great!! I have the writ the days lesson they complete in the little box so we both know exactly what lessons they are on each day, helps on a Monday or with any time off;). Thanks for sharing these, we are very happy with them. Blessed Momma of Seven💕

    This wud work great for reading log too. We have atleast 2 reading books plus poetry so having a log like this for reading makes more sense than a list and I can leave enough space based on size of the books or chapters. 👍

    I ordered one about about two weeks ago. Can't wait to get it! I won't use it until next year but I still am excited to see it! Thanks for providing the link!

    How do your kids know what lesson/work to do? Do you just go in order (for example...they did Less 10 yesterday so do less 11 today) and see how far you get by the end of the year? Or do you have a lesson plan/goal for the whole course of the year (ex: we need to have in 100 school days by Feb 15 and be on Less 90 in Math)? I love this student logbook idea but am a bit confused as to how exactly it works overall. Hope I'm making sense! Thank you for your videos they have been a blessing to our homeschool!

      I go into more detail about how each grade/child knows what to do on any given day in a different set of videos. Those videos are titled Homeschool Organization for X Grade. (I have one for 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th graders). Hopefully that will give you a better idea of how we use the logbooks to keep us on track. I use to do some additional lesson planning as well where I set some goals for us to be done with a certain amount of lessons by a given date but I gave that up since we always move at our own pace and I was either way ahead of schedule or really far "behind" our targeted goals. Of course, progressing at your child's own pace never puts you behind. :) My Student Logbooks are so versatile. You can use them in so many ways. Check their website for more information on how you can use them!

    Do you use this for High School the same way as your 7th grader is shown in the video?

    • @JanelleKnutson
      @JanelleKnutson  2 года назад

      Yes, for my high schooler who likes to use My Student Logbooks. Then I transfer those grades into my Homeschool Mom Binder where I keep all of the high school grades. (I did a video on my Homeschool Mom Binder and a playlist on high school grades/records.) I have another high schooler whose grades are inputed into the new BJU Press Homeschool Hub (currently in the pilot stage but should be released to the public in 2022) so she is not using My Student Logbooks this year. Hope that makes sense.

    Question about the grades, did you just pick point values for completing that days work, or was that established through the curriculum?

    • @JanelleKnutson
      @JanelleKnutson  7 лет назад

      I just picked my own values since it was 7th grade. In middle school, I only keep grades so that my student can get use to being graded on things. I put more thought into the values and weights of course work in high school.

    What do you use for your record keeping for grades? Is it something you set up yourself or do you use an actual program or app?

      Ethanual H I use an older version of Homeschool Tracker.
